I’m very happy to see that someone is actually talking about the problems on last-gen. The graphics were much better in battlefield V and yet they loaded correctly, this isn’t acceptable.
DICE clearly put no effort into the last gen version or EA rushed DICE into getting out rather than actually optimizing it for all platforms.
@@fireflie320 okay they have to work with the software from 5 different systems. They had to cut corners to meet the deadline. I'd say fuck the graphics and visuals. Work on the gamplay. Fix the hit reg and detection. There are worse problems then a few pixels out of place

I remember playing BF4 on x360, yes, textures had to load in a begining of a round and graphics was lower, but I had so much fun! Game actualy worked 90% of a time and connetion was acceptable!

@@wargamemaster1 I remember having played the Battlefield 1 beta and I was so astonished I bought the game immediately even though I had only an Acer V15 Nitro laptop with dedicated graphics in which the i5-6200U cpu was even under the minimum system requirements.

The input lag made me uninstall the beta after like 20 minutes playing on my PS4. I dont get it. One of the most important things in a FPS is fluent movement and aiming, way more important than graphics. I dont understand how they messed this up and why nobody else talked about this before! Great video.
And also FpS in a shooter like this you need atleast 60, which it doesnt get even on my series x

They dont care. They just care about that initial $60 dollar purchase. Once u purchase that your useless to them as they already have ur money they dont have to win u over anymore.
Except they couldn't even get the graphics right. So we got no story mode, less maps, less MP modes, less weapons, worst features and UI, and even worst gameplay... 10/10 game would recommend.
For anyone wondering, you can change the dead zones on trigger pulls and joystick movements, however the input lag is still atrocious even after setting it all to 0.
Yes I've try everything... the player movement is atrocious, so bad that I actually installed and deleted 5 different times . Add the input delay and plus the lagg it's not playable
Yeah i noticed when trying to fire semi-auto especially with the side arms it just seems to skip fire it'll fire a burst just about fine anything past that and it'll just skip
From what is stated in the settings you can set it to replicate how it felt in BF4 which was comfortable to me. So that’s what set it too but I don’t notice input delay on anything except movement. I’ll aim for a ladder for example and miss it completely

I also thought this was on purpose until seeing this video lol. I’ve been tweaking settings to try and make it better but it still feels like learning a whole new and much more difficult way to aim and shoot

The enemy have “ultra instinct” as passive skill. That’s why you can’t hit them
I have never used a real gun before but if I had a real assault rifle and had to shoot a target at 50+ meters I'm sure I'd hit more than the characters can hit in this game. This game should be called "how to feel like a stormtrooper simulator".
The stupid bullet spread or bloom is just unreasonable. What were they trying to accomplish by adding it?
I used the Diemaco C7, standard Dutch assault rifle, it is damn accurate up to 400m.
Even holding it in just one arm you could hit stuff accurate up to 100m.
This 2042 is not a war simulator game but a joke.
Battlefield 3 I fell in love with because everything felt the same as real life, especially in vehicles.
Even the sound when switching from infrared to normal in a LAV was just like real life, i also was a 25mm gunner in the dutch army. 5 and 1 where weird trips by DICE but now they lost their soul
As someone who shoots quite a bit, I will say, it's a lot easier to shoot in real life😂
They are more heavy that you might expect but yeah probably more because of the bloom

I wondered what this was! When I first started playing 2042 I was having a real hard time hitting and had come from bf5 where I was performing pretty well. I'd been experiencing this a lot and hadn't realised it was input delay. I've still managed to have some casual fun with it and get used it somewhat but it's definitely clunky!

FINALLY SOMEONE TALKS ABOUT IT ! Playing 2042 on old gen is really a hassle, the imput delay is horrible and make everything horrible, tapfire is impossible, AIMING is impossible, trying to snipe is hard a hell, driving any vehicle is like having to control a soap bar, this is not enjoyable at all.
Please DICE do something about it I cant get a PS5 and I cant enjoy the game in these conditions

I have a PS5 and play with my friends on the PS4 version. When I'm sniping, run and gun with it because trying to snipe with the delay from range is terrible. There will be times where I'll be driving around and I'll randomly get terminated from explosive barrels that haven't loaded in... Next Gen Version is much better, feel sad for everyone playing it on Last Gen

As someone who has and plays this game on last gen. The most seen glitch for me is the no regs it is to the point where i can’t even use my favorite gun (the M5A2) because of it not to mention the mini gun turrets miss every shot because of *random bullet devation*.
I’d also like to add that I play battlefield 1 where random bullet devation is everywhere and I still think that game is 10x better
just tested the gunners in helis against bots and barely anything hit even when it should've

There's pretty terrible hit reg on all versions of the game as far as I can tell. I've even played bot matches on ps5 just to test it out, and even without having to load 128 different people into a match the hit reg is like 60% at best. Breakthrough is hilariously bad. I thought I was losing my mind beforehand but nope, the game is just broken.

When they announced the holiday 2021 release window like 2 years ago i knew the game would be unfinished. When they said it would be on last gen I knew it would run terribly. Sad that’s what we expect from DICE now.
Unfortunately that's all bc of EA. Rushing to release holiday season to compete with COD, or this time around, Halo. Also, just so people buy a ton of copies. They should've post poned it another year like Halo Infinite. Holiday of 2022

As bad as 2042 is, on any console, you have to remember that for a large number of players *this* is 2042 for them. Imagine if the last-gen version was considered the 'main game.' There would be massive uproar, more than there already is. This is the standard we should hold DICE accountable to, and the only way to get through to a corporation is to vote with your wallet. Don't buy 2042. Wait until they've fixed it, or until they start making better games. You are only contributing to bad doctrine in the industry if you support this game.

The biggest fuck you to long term fans (like myself), is this game doesn’t let you level entire towns or complexes like in BF3. War is destruction and entire cities or towns can be burnt to the ground from constant shelling or rounds hitting structures, yet all we get is minimal destruction of walls and in most places a burn mark on the wall. They also need to fix the cutscenes and voice lines from the specialists. That’s just too cringy and some of them sound like overexcited sociopaths. 😂

So i play on last gen but I've never cared for graphics and frame rates so i think it's pretty alright. Still full of bugs and dumb stuff but it's fun for me.

The input delay and the slow direction changes during walking are the main issues. Was always asking myself why the aiming and hitting still felt off after finetuning my settings constantly...you served me the answer: inputdelay. Should be a much better experience on PS5...

This is bf4 on ps3 vs ps4 all over again the predecessor to these games runs amazing then soon as the next gen version comes out all of a sudden you own an Nintendo 64
I'm playing on PS4 and had to laugh at this, glad someone is reporting on our experience.
But this is one of those areas where I'm prepared to cut Dice a little slack. I feel like they probably never planned to release on last gen, hopefully learning from their BF4 mistakes of having to support 5 platforms. But they were forced to release on last gen because it's so difficult to get a current gen console, and they can't turn a profit if so many fans don't have the platform to run the game.
I'm still slogging through the 2042 experience, even though BF1 and BFV are both far superior on PS4, purely because I've got well over 1000 hours in BFV and this is at least something new.
One thing I haven't seen many comments on is the state of the sound. I have a Sonos 5.1 setup. On BFV this is great: if there's an enemy behind a wall for example, I can tell from their footsteps exactly where they are and which direction they are moving; it's as good as or perhaps better than headphones. On BF2042, there is barely any sound coming from my left and right rear speakers. I've tried a few different settings but none make any difference. I can hear footsteps, but can't pinpoint their direction at all. BF has always been known for its great sound, but this is a huge downgrade in every way.

I played on pc and was sorely dissapointed in most aspects of the game. Portal is a cool concept, but the game is just like they copy/pasted a rough beta version of a battlefield lookalike game, slapped the battlefield name on it, and sent out as a full release next gen fps. I fell in love with battlefield around the bad company 2 days, and this new bf is just an insult to the franchise.
The sound is broken as hell. No comparisons to BFV needed; take the 'Orbital' map for instance; you can stand on the tarmac and you can hear footsteps of ppl running in the tunnel underneath the road. Yeah you can hear footsteps from 20 feet below the road through 10 feet of concrete.
There are a lot of bugs on last gen, but the input delay is the most important thing they should fix

It’s actually running way better on my ps4 pro. It might be optimization issues of running a ps4 game on the ps5. Only time I have texture/rendering issues is when deploying from the chopper at the start of the match, which goes to normal once you hit the ground. My sibling with the normal ps4 has more issues though
I also vouch for the ps4 pro, it is more stable in terms of frames, some glitches but so far I’m kinda slapping wit the pro version of the game

I have all of these issues on my brand new $800 Xbox.. not to mention ar the start of every game I have to create all my classes
And the best way I can explain the issue when turning while running. It's like you character is sliding one ice when you try to turn
Some of my buddies were going to get this on last gen i just told them not to bother after playing it myself on series x. Reminds me alot of cyberpunk in the difference between old gen and new.

I’m so happy someone made a video about this I’ve been playing it on a ps4 and It’s been hell on earth and I’ve played it till I was lv 55 and it brought me to the point to actually go out and buy a ps5 this game is truly disappointing on last gen even with smaller maps the game can’t run properly. This game has made me think twice about pre ordering games from now on because they always release unfinished and we have to wait for the first 5 patch’s before the game is actually playable and it’s unfair to the people that spend the money. My point being no one would go to the store to buy a broken ps5 so developers need to consider their games the same way
I have a base PS4 and Battlefield 5 looks and feels fantastic on it. They clearly didn’t even bother for us last gen players with 2042

Idk, but i found it super hard killing someone who is running across the screen from left to right, or right to left. The bullet velocity and the input delay just makes those shots really hard to get a kill for me on last gen.
same for me on ps5 bro. I think they messed up aiming on a controller in general
Lmao yeah if someone starts shooting at me I just start running in a straight line to the left or right while reloading because it’s pretty much impossible to hit someone running perpendicular

After update 3 and 3.1 here's how the game is on old gen:
Hitreg is better now and almost all the bullets actually hit.
That loading problem still there a little bit better but still there
And the main issue still is the input lag.
Also the horizontal moviment while aiming on ads is broken, its not fast or precise. I really hope they fix input lag and aim moviment, old gen cost the same price as new gen, in some cases even more expensive than steam.
I’m stuck on last gen because I cant buy new even if I wanted to unless I spend 1k on a console from some guy in a trailer on Craigslist. It’s so hard to be even decent at this game on ps4. It’s a nightmare
I was so close to buying this game for ps4 but I'm so glad I watched this. I think ill wait till I can get a ps5 thanks for saving me 90 pounds.

Well broken on PS4. I'm getting Lock on kills with the recoiless after using Sundances' homing grenades. The RELOAD icon stays on screen after firing the recoiless then switching weapons. My 8x sniper scope becomes a 1.5x scope after using my sidearm. Parachutists falling from the sky disappear when you zoom in for a shot. The tank has to be perfectly level for hit registration while using the 30mm cannon, if not bullets go straight through infantry. I've been stuck in various lift shafts and voids in the hull of the ship with no way out. Should never have been released on last gen but they would lose millions because the PS5 is like rocking horse shit atm.
Dat stuff is thank god fixed now, but was painful in the start talking bout the scope
