OK so that's just a great day! Thanks for taking us along. Ollie gets total props for doing the hike as well. Our 14 year-old beagle would not have made it very long!
What an awesome day! Totally know the feeling of thinking you’re at the end of a hike and NOPE! 😂 The ice cream was well deserved. That area is so beautiful and holy cow that CASTLE! 😍
I loved the beautiful hike. I bet it was a nice little treat to get to be on the boat and then on a gorgeous hike! The castle was really cool to see too! Great video! Keep traveling safe!
Jenn is actually BEAMING that she's no longer on the ocean. Always enjoyed your sense of adventure and excitement seeing what's new around the bend. Getting past Chesapeake Bay and NJ has put more spring in your step!
What an awesome hike. My wife just informed me that her grandparents lived on the non-tourist side of Bear Mountain. It is beautiful according to my wife. Now, if you ever get to my town, we have a little mountain that is 14,115 feet to the top. I have been to the top a few times, and let me tell you, there is not much oxygen up there. That mountain I am talking about is called "Pikes Peak". Awesome video. Loved it as always. The Loop looks so fun.
Thank you ever so much for showing us the beautiful Bear Mountain State Park (and Bannerman Castle). That was one long, strenuous hike - hope Ollie (and you two) had plenty of water available. When I was your age, I might have been nimble enough to climb those rocks; but now that I'm older, I'll just watch the video (although my back, hips, and legs were aching by the time you made it back to Pivot). Poor Ollie - bet she won't forget that hike! On the dinghy ride over to Bannerman's Castle, I thought I saw a look of fear in Ollie's eyes "WHAT! MORE WALKING/HIKING!" And I loved Jenn's happy dance! Looking forward to seeing what is next. Your videos are so well made - you can see the care, time & patience in the editing. Love the bloopers!
Thanks so much for the kind words Bob! Haha Ollie was most definitely struggling but we did bring lots of water, and fortunately could refill along the way. Cheers!
Great Hike! WE boat out of SonyPoint, Ny about 8 miles from Bear Mountain. We have visited the park but never in 42 years have we hike d up the mountain. At our senior age we are unable to even try the hike. Thanks for sharing!!
what a great day... hiking and boating comprise 99.9% of our weekends all year around here in Wisconsin. That said we aren't usually lucky enough to be doing them both in the same day. With only 2 months left of boating season here on Lake Michigan, hiking season is just around the corner and your video has us stoked! I know you guys chose the Michigan side, but if you loop again you have to hit Door County. You guys would LOVE Rock Island and Penninula State Park. Both have great anchorages, both have world class hiking and scenery.
U guys where in my back yard. I wish I could have met you guys! There is nothing like Rockland and Orange County, in the state of New York! Enjoyed your content! Especially the way you include handling info for Ollie!
We just love watching you guys, including all the little things making boat life easier. What is the plastic "zip lock" bags you use when making the granola/yogurt treat?
Hey, Jen & Elliot! I loved watching this video of you two hiking up Bear Mountain! It's a steep mountain, and you guys did great especially after having been at sea level for so long. And Ollie was a champ! You guys made me laugh when you talked about me. I hiked all of the 35 peaks over 3500 ft in the Catskills (Catskill 35er), all of the 46 peaks (High Peaks) over 4000 ft in the Adirondacks (Adirondack 46er - once in summer and once in winter), and all of the 115 peaks over 4000 ft in the Northeast (NE111er - there are 115 peaks). I enjoyed your tour around Bannerman's Castle since I've never seen it up close - very cool. When you two are done with the Loop and come back to visit us, I'll take you rock scrambling up Breakneck Ridge which is close to Bannerman's Castle. Enjoy your journey. I love the meals you guys (Jen) prepare - they look delicious! Tom and I are enjoying watching your vlogs! Love, Chris
Thanks for watching Chris! We have huuuuge respect for your hiking adventures, after boat life we will do more hiking - rock scrambling up Breakneck ridge sounds amazing!
Glad to see you had a great time on the hike and Ollie loves it too. How did I get by all those years hiking without a cell phone or an app? I hiked Pacific Coast Trail from Oregon to Canada and hundreds of miles when living in Washington and Alaska. Wish I had a phone with me at times, but we survived with help from fellow hikers and forest rangers. You mentioned when Elliot went swimming that it was the middle of June? Are you posting months behind time? Aloha!
Fun 😅beautiful area haven’t been there for 30 years but still wonderful! New Jersey Sparta maybe one day the loop too! Read your article Passagemaker magazine have fun!
I'm enjoying watching you 3 on your adventures. I cruised up the Hudson in 2021, but didn't stop anywhere except to overnight. It's great to see the places you found on your way.
Great cruise! Not sure if you’ve done the Erie (aka NYS Barge) Canal west or going up to Lake Ontario on the Oswego Canal, but you’ll have a great cruise either way.
My wife and I are in the planning and research phase of The Great Loop. We have a few questions around healthcare and mail. What's the best way to get those to you?
Boating @ Sea level is the reason you’re winded? It has nothing to do with the sedentary life on a boat? U guys might need either a set of bikes or a stationary bike!
Thank you for watching! This video was filmed on June 17th.

Thanks so much Suzanne!
Ayyyyo!! Andre the Great 😊 Ollie is so darn cute already sleeping on Fred! Also, Elliot your dance moves are ready for Tik Tok anytime 😂
I tried to dictate this comment to Nate to type and he was too embarrassed to write it so, just wanted to let you know this is only from Alicia 🥰
LMAO love it
Great music choices! 14,000 ft elevation! Wow! A&K would be proud of you!
Jenn is actually BEAMING that she's no longer on the ocean. Always enjoyed your sense of adventure and excitement seeing what's new around the bend. Getting past Chesapeake Bay and NJ has put more spring in your step!
Absolutely! It's only up from here!
Wow, what a day. Thanks for the video.
These last few Vlogs have been a blast just seeing how much fun you are having! thank you for letting us share in your joy!

Really cool place to explore! I'm adding it to my list!!!
Y’all are just too cute. Really enjoyed this video!

On a clear day, you can see the city.

Wow, that's on another level. Hopefully we can do that in the future!
As a hiker, sometimes not fit enough, I feel your pain.😁
S/v PIVoT and The Adventurers ‼️👍 Great episode guys. ✨🌊🌬🛥🌞✨🍾🥂✨
Woot woot! Thanks Richard!
Another interesting site in New York. Good to see the mountains and back in the rivers. Enjoy
Thanks Buck!
Wow, great hike

Good job on that hike Jen and Eliott :)
Thanks Susan 😁

The hike was fun but just seeing the view was killer! You still got the best part 😁

Nice! You have fantastic local cruising grounds! It sounds like areas we love to cruise and explore, we will have to visit one day.
Calvin and Karen Price watching from Ontario Canada..
Awesome video... U both are brave doing the hike. 🌞🌞
😁 Thanks y'all!
I used to hang out in that castle with freinds when I was a kid
Oh really? Thats pretty cool!
No shame on being exhausted. Especially from hiking a “no trail” trail!

Thanks Geoffrey!
We just love watching you guys, including all the little things making boat life easier. What is the plastic "zip lock" bags you use when making the granola/yogurt treat?
Thanks Jo! Those are "stasher" bags, basically just re-usable zip lock bags. We've had them for years 😁

My understanding was that during the war it was used as a munitions storage for the war effort. Been passed it many times over the years.
l
great stuff thanks
Thanks Lester!
Great video
Thanks Harold!

Right on Kevin! Thanks for watching and reading 😁
I'm enjoying watching you 3 on your adventures. I cruised up the Hudson in 2021, but didn't stop anywhere except to overnight. It's great to see the places you found on your way.
We were honestly surprised at the amount of fun stops on the Hudson, could have easily spent another 2 weeks.
That was a beautiful hike. Seems like it is really nice on the Hudson.
We absolutely loved the Hudson River.
Great cruise! Not sure if you’ve done the Erie (aka NYS Barge) Canal west or going up to Lake Ontario on the Oswego Canal, but you’ll have a great cruise either way.
Absolutely!
Hey Ollie! Remind these guys why they named this mountain region Bear Mountain! Hope Ollie runs faster than u guys from Bears! 😆
I'm sure she could 😂
The AT started at Bear Mountain!

Lol, just realized 😳 the 1st comment says when it was filmed, 😆 🤣.

Or climb more mountains!
