Video helped a lot! Just assembled two today, first one had to follow the video and then the second one flew by. Really poor paper instructions was very surprised. Thanks for the tips 👍
Thanks for clarifying how the clips secure the wire grid. I was at a lose when putting it together. You’re right though, some of the instructions and illustrations weren’t clear. At times I felt like I was having a stroke- I could understand the words but the sentence made no sense. It is a great unit though. Thanks for sharing this 👍🏼
Their instructions make Ikea instructions look good by comparison, I also got lost with the clips. I had the additional handicap of my instruction booklet was such a small font I needed a magnifying class.
The worse task: putting on the clips! If frustration builds up, just zip-tie the wire shelf to the frame. I ended up doing that as an additional step beyond the clips, but they can do the job by themselves. I have several Gladiator rack systems, and they were so much easier to assemble. I went with Dewalt this time, but I don't think I will do so again.
As of July, 2020 these shelves are garbage. I purchased 2 - 6 foot and 1 - 4 foot earlier in 2020. I decided to purchase another 4 foot to stack onto the first. The unit arrived in a different color yellow. The paint barely covered the metal and in some places was just fumed. I took apart some the strapping brackets from both old and new shelves and found a weight difference. I weighed them on a legal tender digital scale and each strap weighed less than the older ones. Dewalt told me the new shelving unit was manufactured at a different plant and they can not guarantee color consistency, but the shelf is built the same. These shelves usually placed it a garage or a basement. These will rust up fast. The weight difference is due to less paint being applied. As of this date, Aug, 4th, 2020 Dewalt is taking zero responsibility for the inept paint. I took pictures of this while the parts were still on the scale and sent them to Dewalt. There response to me was return it to Home Depot.
@@randomrazr So far nothing has happened. Dewalt told me that they have 2 sources for the shelving and that my previous shelving came from their other source. The steel is the same, the paint though barely covers the steel. The outside is covered but the inside is almost translucent. In places it's bare. They told me there is nothing they can do about it. I told them that there is an issue with quality control. I sent pictures to them of several parts along side the same parts from the 3 units I purchased a month before. I then weighed them and each part weighed less on the new shelf. They told me I can return it for a refund. I purchased it from Home Depot. I'm waiting to hear back from them.
Back in the good old days of 2020 these may have been $70, these days they run $200 on a good day. :( Thanks for the video.
Wow your manual looks great. Mine is literally 1.5 pages of all text and 2 or 3 pictures
You sir are my hero!!! Thank you so much, you turned a frustrating experience into a 30 minute delightful project!!! 👍🏾❤️

Thank you for this video!
About to build one!
Your video has been very helpful. I had the same problem with the clips

Excellent job!
Thanks for clarifying how to put the clips. My instructions was so hard to read & understand.
You're welcome!
Instructions that came with it sucked. Your video helped! Thanks

There are black clips that cover the place where the bolts are inserted, so that would help keep the bolts from slipping.
thank you this video helped me out alot
Thanks for the clips instruction- the instructions are terrible overall- I initially missed those plastic pieces at the joints too-
Based on what’s for sale in the stores, this looks like great quality and strength for the price in my opinion of course....
I could be the bolts are Metric, and they gave you Inch Drivers/Bits...
( FYI: "Shot-filled, Dead Blow Rubber Mallet" is best for this job. )
thank you!
Thanks
Should've read the instructions, wonder what he'll do with the extra parts?
Thanks so much for help.

You seriously learned to do this and put a video up with mistakes.
You shouldn’t post videos people follow that you mention mistakes ar the end
Thnx for the details! That instruction just horrible!!!
