All 3 DS games are truly the Gold standard of what some of the best Metroidvania's are, and showed a true height in Igarashi's work I feel...Portrait of Ruin is personally my favourite of the 3, but you can't do wrong with any of them and they are finally made into a collection where in belongs!
Exactly, Avalon my friend! The three are excellent, and it will come down to preference, not quality - it's like picking between three top lamborghinis. We know they're all awesome. And don't think i didn't notice that blue mary avatar! I got a neogeo cd controller by 8bit do a few weeks and am working on a monster review of it. And since i'm hardcore SNK fan, you'll be seeing A LOT of stuff - Garou included. Welcome aboard, my friend!
@@BelmontGaming heh great analogy and thanks for noticing the Avatar, yeah I really hope Blue Mary gets into City of the wolves it is one of my hopes...she is easily one of my favourite characters coming from the Fatal Fury series
i still remember my days at the arcade. in KOF 97, if a guy picked blue mary, he either had no idea what the hell he was doing or he was gonna off AT LEAST two of your characters with her - and it was usually the latter, not the former 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
as for my favorite garou character, i gotta go with the bogard brothers - specially in the last 2d games they released, where andy behaved more like a ninja and terry much more like a brawler. I always wanted to learn KIM though - he's one of those characters that always kicked my ass but when i played as him i looked like a *90's term that can no longer be used but ends with d*😂 Are you into SAMSHO too?
@@BelmontGaming heh that is very true about Mary, she can be a total monster in the right hands, my favourite Garou characters are Terry obviously, Mai, Mary, Rock, B Jenet even Geese who serves usually as one of the perfect end bosses, you gotta pick your spots when attacking as he can counter reckless attacking easily...still gives me nightmares lol...as for Samsho I played a little but I'm more a KOF and Fatal Fury player...I did dabble a bit with Charlotte and Shiki in the latest game

My gut tells me that's a given. Those were the best selling games in the franchise (and i'm not joking), If Konami found a workaround the hideous stylus gimmick in Dawn of Sorrow and published this collection, there's no way in hell they're gonna forget the 3D games, trust me. BTW, as soon as i'm done with the dominus collection, i'll talk about all three of em. Their stories are BRILLIANT. Welcome aboard, Swift!
Just got it yesterday and as soon as I’m home from work in a couple of hours I’m settling down for the rest of the day and playing this, it looks so awesome and I get so much value from just one of these games let alone three plus extras.
My thoughts exactly, man. And it's four games besides one, not three! Trust me, the haunted castle remake is very, VERY different from the original. Welcome aboard!
Simple: a Lords of shadows collection is coming! Do i have any insider source? No. Does it make sense for them to do so? Absolutely yes! It's gonna be LoS 1, 2 and mirror of fate (the 3ds game, WHICH was also released for pcs). I'm calling this now, before everybody else.
Here's my 2 cents: Konami wasn't sure how it'd go once it decided to return to the gaming world after either FIRING or losing Kojima (MGS) Igarashi (SOTN) and Yamaoka (Silent Hill). So when they did, they made sure to both play it safe and invest very little. As good as the advance collection was, producing it didn't cost much. Most of the cool stuff was easy to add. Same goes for the dominus. The menus, save states, display options, artwork, soundtracks and such are very easy to do. The Haunted castle remake didn't cost much either, that's clear - but from a consumer standpoint, none of this matters though: millions of people can now play those amazing DS games that were locked away on the DS and can now play both the original haunted castle and it's remake. And at a 24.99 price point, It's an EXCELLENT deal. A project doesn't need to cost millions to be excellent for the consumer (so much so that i gave it a 9.8). So my take is, they allotted the budget for the product itself and trusted the name the Castlevania series has (specially after the anime on NF). Where they're spending more money is on advertising MGS Delta (mgs3 remake) and Silent Hill 2 Remake, which were the most loved titles out of every franchise (even though mgs2 is my favorite, mgs3 is the most popular) - and even so, not heavily - or at least, not yet. Not to mention the new silent hill games coming out. I can't really say how their finances stand, but it's clear they've taken a MASSIVE hit those past years, at least on the revenue they got from consoles. That's why they're skipping mgs 1 and 2 (even though mgs1 already HAS a remake) and heading straight to 3, same with silent hill. They're aiming their shots very carefully. Unlike the rest of the internet who's in an uproar about metal gear solid Delta, i'll wait until it comes out before i go singing praises for it. Those collections are awesome, but Konami's got ways to go before they fully earn the public's trust again - and they know it, hence their choices so far. I do hope they succed, though. Hell, this response was so long i might as well make it into a video! lol but anyway, what's your take?
@@BelmontGaming Well I tend to think outside the box.. If it were up to me I’d reboot Yie Ar Kung Fu and make it on the level of SF VI and MK XI.. It’s been awhile since they did a fighter.. And the next classic collection I’d put out would be Frogger or something(my 1st video game in life) Not to say they shouldn’t continue with the SH & MGS remakes.. Maybe go 2-1-3 in the case of SH.. If they do another CV collection in the near future maybe the Lord of Shadow trilogy.. But again that’s just my fandom talking
