I'm bi, and once my sister was telling my dad about a song from a woman in the 70's (or something I dont remember) and she was saying that song was secretly for another woman. My dad dint even wait a second to say : "that is disgusting, don't you think so?" and I was so sad that he thought that being in love with another woman would make a woman disgusting, that I didn't even know what to say 💔

My daughter came out as bisexual in 4th Grade and Pansexual in nearly 5th grade when she realized it wasn't just "traditional" males and females she was attracted to. She shaved her head. Started shopping in the "boys" section. Her hair was down to her bottom for years. While I may have shed a brief little tear over her long and beautiful hair of nearly a decade falling to the floor, I can honestly say I loved her shaved head EVEN MORE. I love her soooo much and how she feels and who she loves will NEVER change that. I support her. I wish that for any young person struggling to come out to their parents because they think they won't accept them.

I sent this to my teacher and she showed the class. After the video, she said “This is showing a lot, you can date whoever.” She looked at me…and smiled. Maybe I did get a lot of backlash, but my friends and my teacher was there for me. I feel accepted.

I was out with my friends today in the town and we all bought pride flags (because none of us are straight lmao) so I bought mine and we get to where we needed to go and I was debating coming out to my parents because I don't wanna have to hide my pride flag in my room somewhere for them to find it when they clean out my room (it's getting done up soon) and one of them to send me a pic while I'm in school like "we need to talk." I have no clue how cultured my parents are when it comes to pride flags but still I'm really really nervous.

I don't label my sexuality. I was scared to tell my bestie that, and had no idea how she would react. She was talking about one of her friends who is bi, then said, "I could see you being bi." I told her then that I don't label my sexuality and she didn't understand at first. Her and one of my other friends are the only people I have told. I'm scared too, but it will be okay.

My parents accept if I don’t wanna be girly but then again, they body shame me. They always say things like “stop eating so much if you wanna have a perfect body!” and I just don’t answer. I’m Bisexual and ever since I came out, I never talked about it again. Since that day I’ve always been scared to have a girlfriend nor boyfriend. And it just upsets me when I hear people talking about me being Bisexual. My classmates are very kind but sometimes when they say stuff about me being “gay” or stuff like that what they say upsets me. And about my parents, they always try to get me to exercise but I just don’t have the right body to workout for a long period of time. My sister liked another girl but was afraid to tell our parents until everything bursted and our parents found out she said she didn't mean to like her even though she try to explain our parents still won't listen and was planning to kick her out of the house. I didn't like the idea and tried to complain about what they are doing, I told them they are ruining her self esteem making her feel like she doesn't belong to anywhere. And I started to hang out with a few friends that also has the same 'problem' I told them they should just tell their parents the truth before it's just too late, if they don't agree with what you love then they don't have to regret about it and just live your life the way you want to. To everyone that has the same problem with parents, remember you aren't alone there is always more out there supporting what you like and who your interested on... All of society needs to see this song but particularly those that still assume that their children will grow up to be straight and push heteronormativity onto them. I see it all the time, a little boy and a little girl play together and the parents of those children start saying they are "dating" or that they will "date" Can't they just be friends? A girl and a boy can be friends. It's just that stupid assumption that everyone is straight and boys will grow up to date girls and girls will grow up to date boys. I struggled with coming out for a long time (14 yrs), and to be honest I was scared as hell to tell anyone about it. So I chose to write it down on a paper, and as soon as I felt ready, I put the note on the dinner table ,so that my family could read it. I gave myself a hard time to think that I did something completely wrong, but it turned out that my parents respected my sexuality and they now even make some funny jokes about it. All I want to say is: I know it's scary, but you never know until you tried. And even if they don't like it, you are you, and be proud of it, you are the only YOU out there =)

Parents should always try to support their kids, as long as what they’re doing isn’t hurting anyone (including themselves). That’s part of your job as a parent. Even if you think it’s all nonsense or that we’re just being too sensitive, you shouldn’t say that out loud. Your children aren’t hurting anyone by being themselves. You can’t call yourself an ally if all you do is insult people for “making it all about being gay”. You’re not the victim and you never were. All we ask is that you try to understand. If you can’t do that, don’t blame your child for leaving.

As someone who is gay and someone who is questioning their gender this song is so relatable I come from a conservative muslim family so I know my family will not except and im constintally reminded about how bad it is which has made me hate that part of myself so I haven't come out yet. But listening to this song helps me remember that being gay does not make me a bad person and i don't have to hatemyself or apologize for it.

I relate to this a lot. I come from a very Christian family (only my mom’s side is Christian but I don’t talk to my dad or anyone on his side very much). Every time the lgbtq community gets brought into a conversation, my grandma always says stuff about how it’s not normal and “not the way God intended.” And I know that she has been going by that for years and isn’t going to change her mind. But I can’t help but think about what it would be like if my family would except me (I’m pan and poly :) ). I’m still Christian, but I believe that you can love who you love and still follow God. I have 2 other Christian friends that are queer as well, so they make me feel safer. I’m also from southern Indiana, so you’ll always hear people at my school using the f slur and making fun of the lgbtq community. One of my best friends, who I’ve been friends with for 3 years, would never talk to me again if I told him about this stuff. And it’s not like any of the people at my school that are homophobic are hardcore Christian either (not that that’s an excuse to be homophobic). Really wish that I didn’t live where I do, but hey, what can you do :/. Anyways, I guess that’s all. I know that no one will read this, I just needed a place to vent, and I guess this is the place it ended up being. Have a good day lovelies :)
