We’ve always done best in the edge of weed lines and on sandy muddy flats in the 4-7’ of water range with our baits about a foot up from bottom. Trout seem to cruise the shallower flats under the ice and will come up for bait but rarely go down
That was fun to watch, thanks. Think Wolf Creek or LaCygne are open? Maybe after these 0 temps pass, maybe it’s open and bearable to fish. Our home lakes will be froze for weeks now....
Man I wish we could get crappie thru the ice all we got are trout rainbow brook and tiger and accasinaly a bull or grayling but mostly Yellowstone cutthroat and cutbows
I was thinking the same about the mined land trout pit here in aoutheast kansas would you be willing to come down and fish be interviewed about how you give back to the community with actual knowledge!?
Well you could get some flash powder and make some explosive targets then set them up in your living room and practice dock shooting for crappie. Sorry I’m going a little stir crazy at the house. 🙀👍
If ya ain’t a stocked trout guy… go check out a few vids on my channel. I’m straight up walleye in the summer but winter I usually change it up. Saskatchewan Canada has a lot of small stocked trout lakes that grow some dandy’s…Rainbows, Tiger, Splake, Brown, Brook Trout. It’s pretty good up here. You get hooked when you catch a few giants out of a pothole of a lake. Lol
Miserable as it is...Getting out on the ice is still better than sitting on the couch. From the looks of it, Sat. the 20th should be better than right now, temp wise. Maybe you can find a spot for some crappie by then. In the meantime, hang in there. Us subscribers ain't going anywhere.
Awesome seeing you make the most of it bro! I'm in Tx. now but you're making me miss my last 25 years in Montana... great vid 👍🏼
I love Montana's lakes And mountains
I use hatchet and tee post to open ice holes. Hand auger is like magic! 😂
Hit a few farm ponds Saturday good 6” of ice. First fish of the day was a 4 1/2 lb bass.
Fish story 😒
@@michaelkartsonis You’re just pissed because you don’t have the balls to get on the ice!
Hand ice augers are work! LOL That's all we used to have.
Na they're pretty easy I think. Maybe you had a dull blade?

what kind of thickness were you working with on the day of filming? Just got back in town and have wanted to head over there
Not a thickness I’d publicly recommend.
Looks like you are having fun. Don't know if I could tolerate the cold. I'm old and from the South - LOL.
Enjoying your videos - lots of great content!

I definitely just passed you in the red SUV on my way to ice fish.
Right near the entrance to Henry’s pond

-23 lastnight -40with windchill here in WI
-10 out now
Stay warm!
I've pulled some 3-4 pounders out of there this season
I’ll leave the stocked trout to the pros!
@@KansasAnglingExperience not like we have a lot of options for trout, so I'll take what I can get
@@ghostnuke1797 just wish that place was 5x the size that it is!
Just a fyi never use your auger to re open old holes , it ruins the blades ,always open new holes
This auger is about...20-25 years old, she’s been a good one, doesn’t owe me anything! I have a new one I’m not quite ready to break in yet haha
Stay home for sure till at least weds!! (Guess I’ll read a book...lol)

Lakes will be locked up for a couple weeks yet even with warmer temps. Gonna be running to the power plant as much as I can.
