Hoping your antibiotics sort you out! Just a wee bit of advice!! In Switzerland where my aunt lived for many years, if you were put on antibiotics you were also put on a multi vitamin as the meds kill good stuff as well as bad stuff. Might be worth considering if your able. Take care xx

So sorry you are unwell. You need to slow down. I am in my 67th year and still remember my mother being chronically unwell and not letting go of the jobs. We weren’t allowed to cook clean or shop as teenagers. I went to Uni not knowing what to do! Delegation really is good for all. X

The flushable wipes take years to break down and they stick to the inside of the large pipes under ground which causes blockages. People are trying to get them banned and they are the Bain of sewer workers everywhere.

I love tortillini as well! I’m autistic and it’s one of my safe foods! A safe food is pretty much what it says on the tin. I have sensory issues with different foods and I sometimes find it difficult to eat if I am stressed or a lot of change is happening. I always have some to hand so I can eat without feeling overwhelmed

Hi Ali and family, I rarely have to resort to antibiotics but when I do they upset my system totally whilst I am taking them. I have found that by intoducing live yogurt to my diet whilst I am taking them kind of balences things out and reduces the debilitating bit. Do hope you get back to your sparkling self very soon. I miss M&S, we had them here in Canada but they left in the early 90's. They were so fun to shop in specially around Christmas! It's cute to see how the girls are growing up. Pheobe use to be the one jumping on camera every chance she got, now she's being a 'teen'; the eye rolls remind me so much of when my kids were her age! Now that Lillia is getting older she's enjoying being in front of the camera and is coming into her own.
Haha, too true! Phoebe is definitely the queen of eye rolls these days but Lillia is impossible to embarrass 😅

Oh sweetheart, I'm so sorry you are unwell. I am praying that the antibiotics work and you don't have miserable side effects. I know you are trying very hard to keep up with everything, but remember to take time for you and rest! Although it may feel like you aren't accomplishing anything, you ARE giving your body what it needs when you are resting. So if you have to take a break for a few days, your fans and fam will be here for you when you are feeling better. Take it easy. I'm praying for you. Love from across the Pond.

Glad you have your some antibiotics.I am myself struggling with a chest infection but can't get a doctor to prescribe me anything . My Dr told me earlier today to call 111 after 6 o'clock.
Sorry to hear this, chest infections are the worst - so uncomfortable! In fact the last time I had antibiotics was for a chest infection about ten years ago! Good luck with the Dr, hope you get it sorted xx

I really hope the antibiotics work for you. Try and take it easy and don’t do too much which would be my advice from a mum probably about the same age as your mum who I’m sure would say the same. 😊
Enjoying your blogs and hope you feel well again very soon. I have been suffering with IBS since my lovely mum passed away 6 months ago. I am finding it difficult but knitting is helping. Thank you for your tip of putting wine glass in the freezer....tried that tonight and it works! x

I am so glad you are finding help. I do not deal well with antibiotics, and yeast infections are a problem with antibiotics. If you have similar reactions--a yogurt a day or an acidophilus tablet a day helps. I loved the comments about the light not disturbing Mia (who is not your cat) napping on the knitting basket that is also not hers. After my system crash in August I learned that the crash happens quickly, but the road out is much slower. So take heart-there will be an end to the road, you will get back to normal.

Ah love how Mia is always in the basket now. I totally get how you feel - I had endometriosis for 20 years and luckily had a hysterectomy (after two babies so very fortunate) as such my issue is solved. I'd be deflated too if it came back....so hoping the meds work. Have to say your girls are so lovely. We're having a posh M&S tomorrow night for dinner too!

Sending massive hugs to you Ali, and I hope those meds are working 🩷. Not sure if you can take them but sharing in case helpful, probiotics are really helpful in repopulating your gut with the beneficial bacteria, that are often diminished with antibiotics. If you do take them make sure to leave at least an hour after taking your antibiotics before taking the probiotics. Hope you manage some quiet self care, baths and knitting time this weekend xxx

if you have Activia brand yogurt or another yogurt with probiotics in it, it helps with stomach issues from antibiotics. not sure if your j pouch would agree but it's worth a try.

Hi 👋🏻 you mentioned a few videos ago about textures and how they feel against your skin, I just wanted to ask how you get on with hand knit socks, because I love making them but can’t stand wearing them due to the purl bumps 🤣
Good question! I actually love the feel of knitted socks, but if they get all pilly and bobbly then I can't stand it 😅

Thanks Valerie! Personally when my j-pouch is a bit dodgy I find white bread and beige foods help more than things like vegetables etc. But everyone is different 🙃
I so hope the meds work for you (OMG I forgot your name! I don't think I've ever heard it said!), 🤔🙄🥴😳 I do hope they work for you! Ive learned a lot about a disease I never heard of before. I have IBS-C. After years, I finally found drs who could help. Two very good women drs. Its been a constant battle to find things I can eat, and not be pooping practically all day long. 😩 I love your vlogs, your girls are wonderful and beautiful, and your hubby is cute! I have trouble with my bangs too. I have a cowlick in the front. UGH Ive heard of Marks and Spenser because I have watched so many Brit shows over here for decades! I still do. I feel very much like you about steroids but this last year I have had to resort to taking them more for my Bronchiectasis on a reducing dose ( suits me better ) needs must if I need to breathe 🤪😂🤣

Hope you are feeling better soon Ali. I'm not a fan of taking antibiotics either but needs must. If resting is what you need to do then rest! It's ok! Think often we beat ourselves up when resting but we shouldn't if that is what our body needs. Genuine #question I've noticed that you generally don't have sauce with your filled pasta. Is there a reason why? As a chef I find this really strange. 🤔😕
Thank you! We have sauce with plain pasta and no sauce with filled pasta - although we sometimes do a burnt butter to go with it. I am not sure why 😅
@ThisLittleWonderfulLife each to their own! There are soooooo many different things that we can do with food and we might as well do what we like and enjoy it! I'm not a fan of pre made sauces (surprise surprise!) and a basic pasta sauce is so easy as you have discovered with your skillshare skills! Hope the antibiotics are working and you're feeling a bit better.

I think if you’ve had a medical problem that made a big impact on your life, and then enjoyed being problem-free for a time, a sudden setback absolutely stops you in your tracks. Like NOOOO!! Not THIS again!!! And kinda shakes you to your core. I think you just need to be kind to yourself, be patient about things like housework being a bit behind, and concentrate on things/people who bring you joy. At the end of the day, your getting your body back to optimum health is all that matters. And your viewers are all willing you to be healthy and happy. ❤

In the US I have had to wait on a med due to backorder. I have always been able to get at the local pharmacy. Knock wood. I am shocked it took 5 days and a journey to get an antibiotic.
