    So did you go with eazy wheels or inline skate wheels?

  • @RightNowhere
    @RightNowhere 8 месяцев назад +2

    thank you very much! Because the wheels are bigger and wider, i also recommend a pair of Bicycle Pedal Extenders

    In your case, it's not the look you need, but the usability and you achieved that perfectly. I also have inline skate wheels
    on our bromptons and they work in real world situations where the ground varies. One minute you're rolling over smooth
    asphalt then the next over cracked concrete and loose gravel. I used loctite and a split washer to make sure I don't have
    a run-away wheel.

  • @Slotzzzz
    @Slotzzzz Год назад +1

    Hi.. your right,those wheels have bearings in them and being inline skate wheels the rubber will last forever,also having to put the ones on outside of rack I would think would help balance when parked on wheels,the wheel extender tip was great.. I'm doing this..

    • @VietPhan
      @VietPhan  Год назад +2

      Exactly, I have yet to unbox wheel extender i bought. because so far, it holds well. But I havent been on bikepacking trip with oxelo wheels yet, so true stress test will tell if its needed.

      No prob. Just be ready to it to be ugly. Sometimes I contemplate over thin metalic easy wheels, that looks much slicker :D

    Exact experience I had with 3rd party china made and Brompton wheels. I also lost one of my wheels that I had on the extension bolt. I also installed those online wheels and tho I had to buy longer bolts from a specialty store the bike was more sturdy being rolled on skater wheels. The thicker wheels are very much what everyone should use to upgrade their Brompton . Cheaper, sturdier and I believe will last forever.

    • @VietPhan

    @awbrompton2308 4 месяца назад

    I alsl tried those skater wheels and yes, they roll very, very good. A huge improvement! Unfortunately, with my rather large (>UK 10) I constantly hit these wheels with my heels. Their additional width, over the stock ones, caused this. So I had to remove them.

    You need "liquid nut" to secure the bolts and prevent them from undoing themselves as you ride and the bike shakes.

      Useful video for the Brompton. It’s not your white balance, you’re shooting in a picture profile that needs colour graded which is why it looks overexposed.
      Shoot in a standard profile on auto and it will look great.

    i've read in reddit that the brompton easy wheels were purposely made plastic and weaker so in case of big impacts, it would break first rather than bending the frame part its attached to. there is logic there but is that really true? haha
    planning on replacing the stock wheels on my C line and just want to make sure I dont accidentally bend the frame haha
    Thanks!

    misconception...
    Brompton Easy wheel are designed to break off easily and be destroyed so your rack will NOT be bended when you have a fall or mishandling.
    easy wheel is cheap to replace, a bended rack is not.
