In your case, it's not the look you need, but the usability and you achieved that perfectly. I also have inline skate wheels on our bromptons and they work in real world situations where the ground varies. One minute you're rolling over smooth asphalt then the next over cracked concrete and loose gravel. I used loctite and a split washer to make sure I don't have a run-away wheel.
Hi.. your right, those wheels have bearings in them and being inline skate wheels the rubber will last forever, also having to put the ones on outside of rack I would think would help balance when parked on wheels, the wheel extender tip was great.. I'm doing this..
Exactly, I have yet to unbox wheel extender i bought. because so far, it holds well. But I havent been on bikepacking trip with oxelo wheels yet, so true stress test will tell if its needed.
Exact experience I had with 3rd party china made and Brompton wheels. I also lost one of my wheels that I had on the extension bolt. I also installed those online wheels and tho I had to buy longer bolts from a specialty store the bike was more sturdy being rolled on skater wheels. The thicker wheels are very much what everyone should use to upgrade their Brompton . Cheaper, sturdier and I believe will last forever.
I alsl tried those skater wheels and yes, they roll very, very good. A huge improvement! Unfortunately, with my rather large (>UK 10) I constantly hit these wheels with my heels. Their additional width, over the stock ones, caused this. So I had to remove them.
its classic brompton c-bag. 25 litres i think. Larges i could buy before summer. If i wait few months i could buy borrogh roll top bag that has 30 litres.
Useful video for the Brompton. It’s not your white balance, you’re shooting in a picture profile that needs colour graded which is why it looks overexposed. Shoot in a standard profile on auto and it will look great.
Yeah, I meant 30 Kg as total for both front back, backpack and rear duffle bag. I stored sleeping and cooking system in my front bag with total of 9 KG
i've read in reddit that the brompton easy wheels were purposely made plastic and weaker so in case of big impacts, it would break first rather than bending the frame part its attached to. there is logic there but is that really true? haha planning on replacing the stock wheels on my C line and just want to make sure I dont accidentally bend the frame haha Thanks!
misconception... Brompton Easy wheel are designed to break off easily and be destroyed so your rack will NOT be bended when you have a fall or mishandling. easy wheel is cheap to replace, a bended rack is not.
So did you go with eazy wheels or inline skate wheels?
thank you very much! Because the wheels are bigger and wider, i also recommend a pair of Bicycle Pedal Extenders
Thanks for the tip! Its always trade off between compactness and comfort.
Great idea, I bought the exact same roller wheels, they were easy to install and they work like a charm. Thank you !
Great to hear! Thansk for sharing

Unless you want to park brompton on a moving train in between sears :D, thats when I wished the wheels stayed put
Great idea! Can I have the size of the screws please 😁
Do you need 6mm diameter screws for fitting these wheels? And what length do you need?

Wheels rolled away 20 m, but when on the Brompton it doesn't roll hahahaha. Great video.
Thanks mate. I am sure they made this on purpose :D
Great idea. Skater rolls are design to take heigh weight, so they could be much better than the Bromptpn rolls. Thx a lot !
No prob. Just be ready to it to be ugly. Sometimes I contemplate over thin metalic easy wheels, that looks much slicker :D

glad it worked for you too

Hello Viet, where do you bought your big bag? I'm searchung for one light, big one. many greetings from Christian in Germany
I bought it at local brompton reseller. Its called Brompton C-Bag that brompton was selling years ago.
You need "liquid nut" to secure the bolts and prevent them from undoing themselves as you ride and the bike shakes.
Then I would need longer screw. Or shorter bold :D
Yes. I got long ones and cut them to my requirements
Fantastic idea. Thank you for sharing.
Not original idea, but cheap and functional :)
Thank you so much 👍🏼❤
You’re welcome 😊
Hi there, what length bolts did you use on the rear of the rack? Please quote the size name? Laurie
Hi, about 5 cm or longer
I enjoyed your video! I tried skate wheels on mine but I found I hit them with my feet a lot more often. I do have big feet though!
skate wheels rolls like dream, but are wider though. have you tried wheel extender to shift position backwards?
Any heel strikes when cycling now that the wheels are wider as well as bigger? 👍🏻
Not at all. But i have small feet. I had more troubles when i had dufflebag on rear rack
@@thomask837 the dufflebag or the wheels for you?
Where is the frontbag from?
I have one from Vincita- but yours Look different and bigger

What was the exact size of the screws you needed for the rear wheels?
Rear screws should be 5cm or longer
Thank you friend! @@VietPhan
Do we need additional spacers so the bearings will fit the axles?
nope, i didnt use any aditional spacers. Just buy the screws that ale similar size in diameter as default brompton ones
Thank you!
Can you install this on the mudguard?
You can, but Might not be well balanced
What front bag is that?
C Bag in blue
Dude! White balance! 😵💫
But great video.
And the Brooks saddle, nice!
Thanks man, gonna try different picture profile next time. But dunno used hlg3 with auto white balance.

20kg exceeds the weight limit on the carrier block doesn’t it?
Yeah, I meant 30 Kg as total for both front back, backpack and rear duffle bag. I stored sleeping and cooking system in my front bag with total of 9 KG
This is cool. Thanks.
Welcome :). It still rolls well

From engineering view it does makes sense, so ask yourself if you ever plan to bring Brompton on plane.
Great Idea
Good video.what diameter and length are the screws of the rear wheels please
rear screws are longer than 6 cm, just visit toolshop and try it out. Diameter same as default original brompton screws
@@VietPhan thank you for the reply
brompton doesn't like this video
misconception...

easy wheel is cheap to replace, a bended rack is not.
new roller whhels are like 1/3 of the price of new rack. At least here. i d rather have bent rack than not being able to roll during my trip.
It's less about the rack and more about the rear triangle getting damaged
That is a real strange statement that Easy wheels are designed to break. You have no clue how solid a Brompton is.
EZ wheels. This is a cheap alternative but it looks ugly lol
Yeah, i kinda got used to the look. It looks slick while folded on the ground though.
