Your hair is gorgeous! And you are definitely right, less is more. I wear my hair in box braids a majority of the time and people are always telling me I need to wear my hair out more and let go of the braids and I constantly tell them that's how I retain length. I just hit mid-back length and everyone is asking how I grew my hair and I'm just like "remember the braids you keep telling me not to wear.... yeah 🙄"

I can't relate to this so much! My hair does very well in braids. People always think I'm lying when I say I have shoulder length hair but I do I just don't like to straighten it because it's unhealthy. And don't get me started on the heat, girl I live in Texas it's 100 degrees every damn day.
Who told you to let go of the braids? Must be people who have no idea that natural hair grows the best in braids! 😑

I am so glad to see so many queens who are proud to wear weaves and wigs to protect our natural hair. Its also wonderful to know up under our wigs and weaves we have good hair in its natural. The shaming of black women wearing wigs and weaves needs to stop. Wigs and weaves lets us try different lengths, color and styles without damaging our natural hair. I for one will will not be shamed for protecting my natural hair. Nitraa like many other black women look good in a wig, weave, braids or our natural hair so leave it up to the individual on how to wear her hair. Let us black women live and breathe folks.

I love this comment because literally I think it is totally hate towards black women honestly, because I see when other races of women or men do the weave or man weave people praising them and make excuses for them to do so, while they go on black women videos just to hate on them, it is total hypocrisy.

Everyone seems to forget, when you're pregnant your hair grows much faster. It also doesn't shed. Wearing weaves and wigs also help prevent your hair from break off. Your hair is beautiful! Great job on maintaining your length.

When I first went natural, I would use all kind of natural products and my hair would not grow . But for these last 2 years, all I have been using in my hair is regular conditioner , coconut oil and water . Ever sense then, my hair has grown past my shoulders

Yes finally!!! All these years I wanted to see and I knew you had to have some length under there because it stay braided up in a sew in. Didn't know u wore wigs, they look like sew ins! Monica be slaying! This has given me more motivation to keep my hair braided up like I've been contemplating, my goal is 1 year of cornrows with either wigs or sew ins! I know I can do it

Love your natural hair! 😍 I've been natural for 2 years and this past year my hair has grown at such a rapid speed just by me wearing sew in weaves and other protective styles. We are not bald at all under these weaves I'm so glad you threw that in there! 💅🏽

its all about consistency, your right, i keep my hair in kinky twist and grease it every Monday, and it took me all this time to grow it out, and I'm all natural, and my hair grew so much in these last two months i said woww that was all i needed was to be consistent, its so healthy and amazing. and keep your ends clipped as needed. and your hair is amazing.💜💜😍😍

i had cut it all off with clippers, to go natural a few yrs ago and it would only grown a lil pass my neck, and i was like wtf and then it would break off like crazy. so just recently i went to the africans, and started getting only kinky twist. and she blew it strait before braiding it, cause i have 4a natural curly hair, and when she blew it i saw my ends and i cut them my self, cause the domonicans use to chop me bad. so when i cut them she grease my hair up good, and braided it, and told me to be consistent, cause that's how her hair grew. so i chose mondays once a week to grease my scalp of a grease of your choice. and to be specific, 2 in a half months after getting it done, its so thick now I'm at the top of my shoulders, i said all these yrs and this was all it took. i make sure i never skip that monday. and i only wash as needed.
All sisters keep doing what is good for your hair because you are the ones wearing it no one else. Makes my spirit glad to see so many positive black women standing up. ✌👍🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌

Maya Swan everyone's hair is different. Your hair just may not grow as fast. I know it's frustrating sometimes but try not to let it bother you too much. Just focus on keeping your hair healthy.

My hair was down my back 2 years ago. But because, a stylist would cut my hair uneven constantly and getting my hair flat ironed every two weeks I decided recently to stop putting heat on my hair. Now, I'm in braids and I love it. I love it, I get up and leave the house without worrying about it not being straight.
