No i am not just a core band member. I am a band head as well. I look at HBCU and DCI and College and High School Bands. I have done Core and Show Style before. But i know the difference between good bands and horrible bands. The reason why i said that is because instead of bands working on trying to show off they should be working on getting the Sound Quality right and balance. Plus the Drumlines or Battery should be up to standards. You don't see Southern Band sounding like this. You don't see LLI sounding like this. It all balls down to who study there music correctly and playing the music with good tone. Not sound like crap.
+bj mitchell RIGHT, and it's been the same comments forever. First off, there are very few high school bands that you compare to a College or DCI level band - of ANY style. It would be unfair to take the band that Travis is a member of and compare them to the best College band of their style. High school bands have limited resources to work with - especially the districts many of these schools are in. The students in this video are part of LLI's band. Why does LLI sound different? LLI has better percussion equipment -DUH! In the end, these people still come over to channels dedicated to "showbands" and comment but no one from showbands goes over to corps bands and start these tired arguments. And an HBCU is a College, there's no need to separate the two.
