I'm not a hipster or some literature guy, but I think Bradbury's prose is crazy good. His books read like poetry, they tell a good story, and they paint a beautiful picture. Something Wicked This Way Comes will always be one of my favorite books. Most writers can't pull off prose like this, but Bradbury could and did.

I tried reading Gravity's Rainbow (or some name like that, I think it had the woird "gravity" in there anyway), I agree I got to about page 20, I thought it was awful. Have you ever tried to read Ulysses by James Joyce? I saw so many people recommend it, it took me about 2 weeks to get to page 50 and it's about 600 pages long so I just gave up. I thought it was beyond pretentious and it has no punctuation at all so it makes it even more painful to read

I only read Fahrenheit and I thought it was great. Similar to Brave New World and 1984 but much more fun to read.
