    The shocks need thicker oil, stiffer springs, and pen springs. A Hobbywing 880 esc runs 2 motors, and runs 2s-4s. Try the 880 for the budget build before going to 2escs.

    Personally I could be wrong but I think you are overlooking a few Items. 1. you need more wheel speed, so you should put the lower weight somewhere other than at the wheels (rotational weight).
    2. Why not add pen springs internally on the shocks to provide more predictable control? Limit the suspension drop?. Lastly for more wheel speed run 3s. There are a lot of people running 3s bone stock with no issues on this rig. There are 3 problems solved and little to no more money spent...then see how it performs...before new motors...esc's etc..and budget blown. Just my 2 cents. Great videos! Look forward to final danchee and Optimus 3 head to head!

    I can recommend plumber's solder (solder wire) wrapped around inside each wheel. I added double sided tape to the "wheel well" of each wheel, then wound the solder around until it filled the "well", then covered the solder with electrical tape. This was after changing the tires for some softer, grippier, ones.

    Seeing you adding the weight of the wheels to put some weight lower reminds me that is something else tgat I'm wanting to do to my Wraith Spawn. After adding a sound kit in the only place that I could get it to fit, may try something else, it is a bit top heavy.

    You could cut a few turn of the coil spring and put some gas line tubing on the shock shaft to limit the articulation. I am really liking this budget minded project. We are really spoiled with the quality of the scale truck these days. It''s fun to "hack" the cheaper cars!

    • @freedomtobefred8233
      @freedomtobefred8233 3 года назад +2

      I did the pen springs and external limiters on the shock shaft, which gave me 6-7mm if travel at the shock which equates to about 4.75-5" of articulation at the wheel. I have since moved to full droop and a custom lcg chassis for the ridgerock.

    Just bought 1 a couple days ago...literally just gave out on me for no reason! It was great at first, then while I was working on my front links, not touching the servo or anything, I turned it back on, it started "clicking" while slowly turning on its own & not responding to the remote. Turned it off, back on, & dead.....I'm disappointed in a way but willing to try another maybe in a few months. Good video

    I am loving your videos and think Ive watched all regarding this rig. Quick question though-
    Ive swapped my tires and the servos and have used some lead wrap on my rims to get some weight on it and have removed the lower stops from the shocks to bring it down. But I have a question for anyone out there as I am pretty new to this crawler market. I was looking at putting in the hobbywing quicrun 880 and swapping out the stock motors for a set of the axial AX24004 AM27 540's and finally replacing my transmitter with the dumboRC X6 ? Just to help with the lack of power to the rear tires when climbing some steeper stuff? Am I out to lunch? any and all feedback is massively appreciated! Cheers
