The poor "WILL" never have enough.
Because the rich "CAN" never have enough.
The poor can never have enough until they destroy the rich's wealth. See: communism in Soviet Union, Cuba, Venezuela, China before capitalism
@SmokeroftheFuture that's our political system
labour always go on about the 1% the socalled rich but what is classed as rich in the UK we nr 4000 Millionaires including labour mp,s and 40+ billionaires ...
Sadly accurate statement
Very truthful statement
The Tories really are burning everything to the ground before they're ousted.
Brown your hero 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Remember that letter the New Labour Party left the last time they were in power. They should all have been imprisoned for that!
My theory exactly.
Caught on microphone by sky moaning about a racist woman it changed the course of history
The right wing press jumped on it!
Yes they jumped on it but why did brown say that even "in private"? His comment sounded very disfainful of the class he's now fighting for

And blwd the people of uk to help the rich banks out
The so-called "united" kingdom is not a country.
I do despair Sunak useless and Starmer as well.
Brown gave away half the UK gold reserves, obviously nobody made a fortune out of that, did they? The government ALWAYS serves 'the city' first, and the sooner folk open their eyes the better

The real face of the World beating UK
Let us not forget Gordon Brown wanted us to remain in the European Union, whose austerity programme the Conservative Party are still adhering to despite the fact it no longer has to obey the EU's right-wing, neo-liberal economic and policies. All part of the Conservative Party's betrayal of Brexit.
Deliberate distortion. Without defining exactly what poverty is makes the debate meaningless. Having worked in the poorest London borough for over 20 years Brown's comments do not ring true. Dickensian type poverty does not exist. Problems that need solving certainly do exist but not wholesale Dickensian poverty by any means.
Shameful, cruel tories ! 300,000 estimated dead due to tory austerity.

Estimated dead? So not dead at all then.
Who's doing your counting?... Diane Abbott or Hamas?
UK media and UK RF are busy following PH and M and totally forgot about the needs of their own people. Shame!
This is ridiculous! I know how much benefits these people receive. Why should they expect the same standard of living as me. When I've worked hard all of my life. And made my retirement comfortable. Brown's ideology is indicative of labour's policies. Take from the hardworking and give to the lazy, so called vulnerable groups.
And recent boating arrivals.
Gordon Brown telling Scotland to stay in the UK has aged well
This is Thatchers and Blairs legacy. Gordon was also Blairs side kick
Why is the sky news woman getting all excited anbout labour once they get in wave goodbye to this country

Wonder whether this is something to do with previous governments and their leaders, eg 2007 to 2010, and their economic values such as allowing the Bank of England to become independent of Parliament.
Yep. And what does Starmer intend to do about it? Anything to reverse, or alleviate Tory party policy?
Dream on.
Unfortunately, the media rarely focuses on real issues like this but I'm not too confident that Starmer will really address in a quality and property.

Their Annual accounts are online. And they push for donated food from the public by handing out 'shopping lists' in a certain supermarket.
This smacks of hypocrisy. Gordon Brown sounds like he cares in this Sky News interview but it is all very easy to point to the terrible state of Britain today (and I agree, there is a huge amount of suffering and poverty amongst ordinary Britons now and we've sunk to just about a third world state) but what about the damage he caused when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer and Prime Minister.? Yes, I despise the Conservative government for not caring one jot about the British public, throwing away billions of pounds of our money on idiotic and wasteful projects (net zero, for example, or housing illegal migrants in luxury hotels). However, I can remember what Blair and Brown did to our country. They initiated the massive increase in migrants coming into the UK, thus making our housing shortage even worse, increasing the pressure on the struggling NHS and education system, plus diluting our own culture and traditions .In addition, Gordon Brown stole our work pensions that many of us were relying on to avoid poverty in old age. He was also stupid enough to sell much of Britain's gold reserves at a very low price on the market., so impoverishing Britain even more. And does he really care about the ordinary people? Don't forget what he called 65 year old pensioner Gillian Duffy from Rochdale (who was a Labour supporter) when she politely asked him a question about immigration and the economy. Her question was in no means aggressive or challenging and was a fair one, given her circumstances. Thinking the microphone was switched off, Brown expressed rage to his aides saying "Who let this bigoted woman in?" There was no way that Gillian Duffy was a "bigot" but it seems that Brown doesn't like us ordinary people disagreeing with him. He's also a Global ist, and like Tony Blair and most of our politicians, supports such elitist organisations as the W E F and the W H O. who are out to destroy the nation state. There's much more I could say, but this comment is too long already! Basically, do not trust him.
He talks about the poor working class after he abolished the 10% tax bracket impacting the poorer working families more than anyone else.
@@mycatspethooman5590 Yes, very true, I had forgotten about that.
