Why Douglas Luiz To Arsenal Makes So Much Sense

- Despite spending almost 200 million pounds in the summer, Arsenal have a Granit Xhaka shaped hole in their midfield. Injuries to Thomas Partey and a slow start to the season for Kai Havertz has made it difficult for Mikel Arteta to balance his midfield and whilst the Gunners have had a lot of good results, they will need to play closer to their best if they want any silverware to show for their efforts. So with that in mind, Statman Dave explains Why Douglas Luiz to Arsenal Makes So Much Sense...

Waiting for the "Alternatives to Douglas Luis could Arsenal sign in January" vid 😊
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Arsenal can get luiz only by giving him good salary luiz only earn 70k week at aston villa
Now make a Why Saka to Villa makes so much sense video
But it doesn't 🤷♂
@@StatmanDavenor does douglas luiz to arsenal
Nor does Luiz to Arsenal you pleb
Villa refused to sell him 12 months ago even though he wanted the move at the time and we were just escaping the horrors of Gerrard, he then signed an improved contract literally weeks later. Under Emery he has become even more important to Villas climb into the European places so why would they sell such an important player in January when it’s difficult to replace him during that window?
If Arsenal wanted him they should have spent the summer trying to get him. If he was too expensive then then he’ll be even more expensive in January. Luiz must know that every time Arsenal lose their main player he’s the back up purchase option.
Villa have wealthy owners, no FFP issues and arguably a better coach than Arteta so even if they don’t challenge for CL this season there’s no reason they won’t strengthen again in the summer and challenge again next season. Emery has taken a squad battling relegation under Gerrard to 7th in two thirds of a season. That same squad was strengthened and is now 5th at the same point as when he took over, so like Newcastle they are likely to disrupt the top of the table for the next few seasons at least and they won’t do that by selling their best players to a direct rival.
Unless Arsenal want to spend another £100 million.
How is Emery a better coach than Arteta, when he almost got Arsenal relagated with horrible run of defeats..?
@@samk2723 because it took Arteta three seasons to match Emery's first season at Arsenal. Arteta hasn't won anything yet despite spending the thick end of £500 million pounds whereas Emery has taken much smaller clubs to numerous Europa finals having spent substantially less and won them. And lets not forget his Villarreal team knocked Arsenal out of the Europa League on the way to winning it.
Comparably he is matching Arteta's performance in the PL at Villa with a far worse squad having spent substantially less.
You can't deny what happened at Arsenal 5 seasons ago but you can argue that he's a far better coach now than he was then.
Is Arteta a better coach than when he took over at Arsenal? His performance suggests so so why can't the same be said for Emery?
@@samk2723what
A month later and things are looking even better for Villa this season. Meaning, Luiz to Arsenal makes even less sense than it did when this video was posted. Of course, Villa would never sell arguably our best player to a direct rival. Our owners and manager are not stupid. If Dougie moves anywhere, it will be abroad, not to an English club. And that likely won't be for several years to come.
@@samk2723great result today. Let's face it Arteta isn't a shadow on Emery. He's done nothing.
Hands off our Dougie! UTV!
Arsenal should have offered more money last year. Now it's virtually impossible to lure him. Villa is doing so well .
Despite how well Villa are doing it'll take years of these levels to get close to the level of Arsenal
@@StatmanDaveEmery isn't rebuilding at Aston Villa to waste his management time. I honestly don't see them 'years behind' either. In the past year Villa have rapidly reduced the gap without breaking the bank.
@@StatmanDave what bullshit. Villa have performed on par with Arsenal for the last 11 months, Arsenal only 2 years ago finished in 8th ffs.
@StatmanDave levels of arsenal's what? delusional fanbase? this is their first year in CL in ages. they have never won the CL or European Cup. How many more signings does Arteta need before he is happy. Emi Martinez won that FA Cup more than Arteta did. I would be staggered if Villa let Dougie leave in January. Would take 200 million at least. Emery is a better manager than Arteta also.
@@Bighead1hecko United might be a shadow of what the club was decades ago but it's still a mammoth of a club. When you talk of Big clubs you are talking about years of tradition and culture and worldwide renown
Arsenal already replaced Dhaka with Rice. The problem is Partey always being out injured and now Ødegaard too. Everytime we had Ødegaard, Rice and Partey on field, we won even the almighty City.
Rice - Partey - Ødegaard is a TOP midfield but how often would you expect them to play together given Partey's issues with injuries?
I'd love luiz and zubimendi as long term replacements for partey and jorginho🙏
Arsenal should sign Ruben Neves aswell he's very good
Zubimendi more.
Most likely would be one or the other. Have Patino coming through too
Wah bout if arsenal signs Chiesa LW martinelli backup, Pedro Neto RW Saka backup??✅️✅️👏
@@smellslikefreespirit patino was rumoured to be leaving last summer
SD, you always make it make sense. Appreciative!
He makes sense but Villa won't sell him in january. Teun Koopmeiners would be a good signing to add depth to our midfield.
He's just signed a new contract, he's happy under Emery, he's back in the Brazil team, we're pushing for at least Top 6 this season... Why would we sell him? He's not going anywhere.
You might not want to sell him, but it'll be Luiz that determines if he leaves or not. Villa are a great club, but they aren't arsenal.
Delusional villa fan lmao you guys love gassing yourselves into believe you’re a big club
@@AFCbirmsy Correct. Villa are far greater than Arsenal.
He has connections to Arteta from City days and Edu as a Brazilian. He’s been on their radar for a few years and already have approached Villa to sign him. If he wants to go, Villa will ask for at least 50 mil based on his new contract. If it goes higher Arsenal may opt for Zubimendi who has a 50 mil euro release clause. Villa will make Arsenal pay big for Luiz as he’s an important player for them.
Because Arsenal have more chance of winning the Premier league than vIlla - simples.
I was here when statmandave had 100 folowers ..what a graph man is making 🔥🔥
He would definitely improve the midfield. Now, does that improvement equal enough to win the league? I think Arsenal could’ve avoided this by signing Guimarães when they were supposed to be the favorites to sign him.
I still can't believe Newcastle signed Guimarães unchallenged
@@StatmanDave its mad
@@truth884 cut the crap man, no one was gonna give 50 mil for some prospect from the world's 5-6 league. Impressive reverse analysis, how do you do this?
@@alekseifedorov949 Uh 👌🏾… Newcastle got close(42 million), and in hindsight 50 million would have been worth it. Now, according to transfermarkt he’s worth 85 million at the moment. Oh paid that money for Benjamin White and well you know how thats gone so far.
@@truth884 I count in euros so ok. You see, you wanted to flex on “poor Ben White”, but you don’t pay much attention to Arsenal (which is fine), so you probably don’t know that he’s outstanding defender and football players, and we absolutely love every minute of him. So, you unwillingly proved my point - don’t pretend that it was certain and obvious before transfers happened, cause it was not 😆 They both were mildly expensive gambles, that turned out very good. But in 1 case you lie that you saw it and in the other you RIGHTLY SO doubted it 🤷
Luiz and Neves in Summer could make for border line adequate midfield depth. Out and out 9, backup RW are still a top priority though.
Arsenal Should Definitely. I like Him His GOOD plus Well Done GoodMan Dave For Making This Video. Im A Big Fan Of What Youre Doing ARSENALS My Club And I Appreciate This Alot. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SIR
No chance. Villa are going places and will be challenging at the very top. Emery wants Champions League qualification this season.
Him and Decs together would be a very dangerous midfield. Has exactly what we’re missing and that’s someone with elite vision and who’s willing to take risks with his passing. Can also play DM, so when Decs bombs forward he can sit back and keep us secure from transitions. That’s why Arteta wanted Gundogan. Hope Edu can pull this off
You can't afford him
@@Baxterr24 We just dropped 100M on Declan Rice brother. I think we can afford 45-60 on Douglas Luiz lol
@@smellslikefreespirit you couldnt buy his boots for that.. will be rice/caicedo money for him😂😂😂
Arsenal should not have sold Xhaka even though he wanted the move. Douglas would not be the most hyped transfer, but he would be the kind of transfer that Rakitic were for Barcelona.
You’re underrating him, Luiz is that guy. He runs the show at Villa, which is why I don’t think we will be able to convince them to sell him
No need to keep someone a prisoner, Xhaka wanted to leave, we wish him the best and happiness where he’s at.
Letting Xhaka go is fine but arteta failed to bring in a suitable replacement. It was supposed to be Havertz which is obviously a total misfire. I’d say Partey not being able to stay fit is a big reason Arteta wants a new midfielder actually
Everytime I watch villa Luiz impresses me, Aston villa is one of those clubs with underrated talent but people are surprised they're doing well. I think half of their team would improve Arsenal in a certain capacity, be it rotation or starting... Luiz, Mcginn, Watkins, Cash, Martinez, Pau, Diaby
BLOCH I wonder if Xhaka and Arteta had an agreement at the beginning of last season. He is clearly happy with his move and the transfer may prolong his playing career .
Douglas Luiz: “They can buy me on FIFA.” 🤣🤣 Sorry lads. We’re not a selling club anymore. Post some ridiculous offer and we might consider it. Might make sense for Arsenal but doesn’t make sense for Villa.
Luiz comes straight into our team currently. He just offers a lot of flexibility without substitution incase we got tactics wrong for a particular game. The ability to play in a double pivot or as a box to box, his close control in tight spaces and intelligence in the final third all just make him so perfect for us. Very underrated player, it will 60 odd mil to get him though😅 Could we look to cash in on ESR, Reiss or even Lokonga?!
Make that £100 million. He’s just signed a contract extension and we have no need or desire to sell him. He is the heartbeat of our team. A team that within the next 2 seasons will mount a serious challenge for the top 4
@@rogergoldman9375as an Arsenal fan I totally agree. Folks are sleeping on Aston Villa. Its going to take a miracle (or a shitnload of $$) to pry him away from AV
Yes they need to
A certain Zubimend and Ruben Neves would make more sense, lately Declan has played more of a number 8 than a number 6 making him be more of a new Xhaka
How many DM should they have? They currently have El Neny, Jorge, Partey and Decs
Rice can play as an 8 so if Arsenal have Luiz and possibly sell Partey Luiz can play as 6 and midfield is sorted
•Elneny isn't complete enough for Arteta's 6 role
•Jorginho can be a liability in the transition
•Partey is injury prone
•Rice is quality but Arsenal seem to need another number 8 - not a 10 like Havertz, Vieira & Smith Rowe
@@StatmanDaveArsenal need to sell Havertz, Elneny, Jorginho and Partey if they’re going to win the league. Luiz would be a great addition for them and allow Rice to play as a box to box 8.
Neny Jorginho and Partey will be leaving the club in the next 12-18 months
You need to make some more videos
Seeing the name Luiz on the back of an Arsenal shirt will always haunt me and trigger 2018 vibes
Havertz transfer made very much sense. Height/heading ability - new dimension of chance creation via half-flank crosses, brilliant understanding of space, high culture of pass and also left foot which allows to replicate Xhaka-team patterns. I agree that Luiz's interest makes much sense too, but while you finding so many similarities with Xhaka, David's not left footed so it's a recognisable difference of play
What if we replace him with Kimmich or Goretzka?
Villa selling their best player in January (mid season) MAKES PERFECT SENSE
Sounds like a Xhaka 2.0
I always thought about him and what is it about him but now I c lol😅
This is a signing that is long overdue, Arsenal's bids were too frugal and the player ended up signing a new deal with Villa. Luiz is a similar player to Rice and will offer more to Arsenal in a 4-3-3 as the B2B midfielder while still pressing upfront, he's also an expert deadball specialist and Arsenal lacks a right footed free kick taker. Here they'll have to break the bank if they want silverware.
Yeah right, that it's not happening. Douglas Luiz just signed a new long-term contract with Villa less than two months ago. Also, why would Aston Villa sell him to a direct rival club (Liverpool) who are on the exact same points as Villa half-way through the season? The same goes for Arsenal. Villa's owners are richer than both clubs, so definitely don't need the money. If Luiz ever gets sold, it will be to a foreign club abroad and probably years from now. Definitely not to any Premier League club.
Hell yes. Rice is more of a 6. It solves our issue.
I'm about 90% sure we won't get him. Every hyped transfer we had has been replaced by another: mudryk, calceido and of course st from juve
We are slowly becoming the Brazil national team 😂
If bluds name was Gabriel Luiz he'd already be in our starting 11
*Beefcake - You can breathe out now Dave
Big respect for Villa and Newcastle as an Arsenal fan I’d rather they win the league than any of the other teams so called big teams
Highly doubt villa will sell him to a rival. Unless 100mil+ bid was offered
Leave behind being the main man at Aston Villa under the 3x Europa winning Professor Unai Emery, or switch allegiances to Arsenal and eventually become a squad player under Arteta who’s best win so far is the 2019 FA Cup 😂… hmmm… decisions decisions..
100% luc is the answer
No chance UTV
Alternatively Quinton Timber.
Moving out of that Birmingham shit hole makes more sense than anything tbh lol
Frash cash for douglas.our team will be perfect.plz.
Makes no sense for Villa
Makes zero sense for Villa. I am Arsenal so clearly it makes good sense for me.
*made
Why Cant they just play Zinchenko in that position, is he really that better than Zinchenko?
So basically Douglas Luis is similar to rice but rice is better
arsenal wont be signing luiz...especially cos villa gonna quote them 100M plus quid
As videos go, this one must be the biggest waste of time ever.
Please do a Why Saka will be perfect for Villa.
😂
someone tell this guy a difference between freiburg and borussia dortmund. Oh, I mean between villa and arsenal
@@alekseifedorov949 Aston Villa and Dortmund has won the top European Prize. Freiburg and Arsenal hasn't - is that's your comparison???
It makes a lot of sense until you realise he’s going to be valued at £100m by villa. Arsenal spent 100m on a starting central player in the summer. Luiz starts for Arsenal, so that’s 100m please.
LUCAS PARQUETA IS THE MISSING LINK, BUY HIM.
Get your wallet out arsenal to the sum of £120 million and dont try and dump Smith Rowe on us , the deal is cash only
Dave.. please do a Why Declan Rice could prove to be a good fit for Villa.
hahahahah
Luiz is not for sale, he recently signed a new contract. Playing his best football under a proven manager. So simply Luiz is not for sale, move on. UTV
Definitely disagree with this and the articles talking about this. We need a deep lying DM that can control tempo
You definitely need to get out more
@@SteveBarrow-lp2ns Lol ok sure buddy
Id rather Frenkie De Jong
I would just pay 100m for Lucas Parqueta and solve All Arsenal midfield puzzles.
NEVER going to happen, even if they offer 100 million, do you think we're skint, plus has 4 year contract LMFAO
.
Another Brazilian player
He just look like Rice from wish. Get Zubimendi
Still trying to understand why you think this makes sense? Aston Villa are currently the most improved team in the Premier League aiming for European Silverware and Champions League qualification this season. Currently Villa are lying 5th are two points behind Arsenal and only 3 points behind leaders Man City. Why does it make sense for Aston Villa to sell their best player in January to a top 5 rival?? You haven't mentioned that Douglas Luiz signed a new contract at Villa only last year when he was quoted to have said “I’m so happy in this club and I love this club,” UTV.

It doesn’t make any sense for Villa so I will post this comment and not watch the video.
this transfer will not happen
Stop wasting your time you need to look elseware you won't be getting our Dougy, Villa are on the up and going places, sorry but it has to be said apart from last year Arsenal aren't it's just true Arteta will be found out.
It makes about as much sense as a hole in the head. Luiz would rightfully cost more than Rice or Guimaraes because he's a better player
At this point Arsenal is gonna sign the whole world and still can't win the prem
Just like Manchester United😂👨🦯
@@perezmasaba5537 Exactly these two clubs are linked with every player you can think of and I'm not exaggerating
Arsenal need a top striker tbh. I could see Havertz as part of a deal back to Bundesliga as such.
For sure there are useful players otherwise, the aforementioned is their top priority.
