I Was a 70s kid who discovered Kirby through The Eternals a few years after they were on the stands, Convenience stores etc. spring/summer of 1980. I picked up used comics at a local 2nd hand store for like $.20 a pop. Most of my comics I got from the local 711 and Max Milk variety store. Occasionally at a downtown Comic store when going to the movies. Anyway, this was my first taste of Kirby next to some of the reprinted works Marvel reprocessed. As a 9&10 year old I honestly didnt like or appreciate it the way I do today. By then , so many craftsman who unbeknownst to me learned from Jack's standards , were already demonstrating better anatomy and realism which as a young drawer I was more interested in. Later when I got much older I retrieved some of the old Eternals and Machine Man books Jack spit out in those days and really enjoy them. It wasnt all Gold though. I think we exagerate sometimes. I have some Kamandi Kirby that is just Yuck to look at. But when jack had a tight inker and good colorists it rocked off the page. But more impressive than this was his mind blowing productivity and body of work. But we know that already dont we. Thanks Jack. What a Ball you helped get bouncing.
@@williamblakehall5566 I watched the movie first before I discovered the comics and at that time I thought the movie wasn’t as bad at everyone said it was. But after reading a few of the comics I think the movie fell short with the deviant characters. We could have had some cool unique mutant monster for the eternals to fight but instead we got a generic cgi monster that all looked the same. I also think you can’t have a good hero story unless you have a great interesting villain.

I remember being intrigued by the Eternals when they first came out. The movie disappointed me but overall, I liked it.
