    Depending on how new a player is, its also important to be aware of out of game stuff.
    Do you have a copy of your rules, dice, tape measure, tokens, your minis and dismounts. Some paper and a pen is always handy in a pinch. Do you have superglue in case something breaks. Where is the venue, and how are you getting there. If its out of town, where are you staying and what are the methods of transport. What are the options for food and drinks. How are you transporting your models to the venue and between rounds. Do you have any medication/reading glasses etc.
    I always take extra pens and superglue to events, and almost every time im lending them out

    Youre absolutely right, its not about having more siege weapons, its about having the right amount for maximum impact. Theres a lot of undue criticism surrounding siege weapons which isnt great. Instead, why dont we talk about how to use them effectively and tactics on how to play against them? Having watched many a player sweat it out, i always give my opponent tips on how i would deal with them, often to my own detriment.

      That's a topic I really wanna speak about.
      There is a lot of hatred towards siege weapons and how they play, which I believe is both warranted and unwarranted. They sit in such a weird place in the game.

    Hi, thanks for the great video! I'm new to the game, may I ask you how to make choices like, for example, Azog's Hunters: how many bows, how many two handed picks, banner yes or no?

    • @MtnGoatGaming
      @MtnGoatGaming  6 месяцев назад +1

      @@rotellefuoriposto92 for sure!
      A banner is always a yes! Especially at the start of your journey.
      Then bows are never a bad shout - for Azog hunters though I would recommend taking a few, because you’ll find that they don’t do anything … but pose a threat to your opponent still.
      Finally, two hand picks are a flavour choice and can help deal crucial wounds in specific situations.
      Thank you for your comment - I want to make a video on it now!
      If we can help anymore, please sing out.

    Is a skew list essentially just 'not meta'?

    • @MtnGoatGaming
      @MtnGoatGaming  6 месяцев назад

      @@sotnos1125 a skew list is an army list the focuses on doing 1 or 2 things really well and in certain scenarios can be incredibly powerful, whilst in others they can fall flat.
      We have a video coming up in the next few weeks that talks all about skew lists and how to run/verse a skew list.

    i confess i run a ballista in my khazad dum. but thats because i run it pure and the faction is severely limited in ways to deal with distance. burning mass might just to be the same speed as normal infantry armies AND not being able to horde sucks all the balls. archer options are a bit meh as well. for any sort of board control its really ballista or nothing. if i had other options i would use them. dont run any siege in my isengard or barad dur.

      And the dwarf ballista is a more realistic size.

    • @ajcolasante
      @ajcolasante 6 месяцев назад +1

      Would actually really recommend the dwarf ballista. It doesn't feel too overpowered, and its very much in an underpowered army with not many options to force your opponent into an engagement

      @@ajcolasante does its job before it even fires. just there for board denial and to funnel the other guy into those close head-on fights that dwarves like. just as well, cause when it does fire, only one shot in about 4 does much of anything, and only one in 8 does what you actually want🤣
