If I find any mistakes/inaccuracies, I'll discuss them here.
- MHW:TU5 also added the Zirael Dual Blades as part of the Witcher 3 Collaboration
- Some corrections regarding AT Monsters
* AT Teostra does actually have a new move.
* AT Zorah's Fireball is not en entirely new move, but merely a powered up version of an existing one.
- While MHRise's Apex Monsters do not produce bespoke armor & weapons, their high rank materials are not entirely useless, as they are required for the upgrading of a single line of weapons.

Thanks For this they are always useful🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
- AT Teo does have a new move where he concentrates blast powder on his face to force players away from it, the move is then carried over to Iceborne and RiseBreak.
- The Magma Ball attack that AT Zorah has isn't new, is just does more damage, his normal fight does about a sixth of the barrier's HP with each magma ball instead of doing half of it's HP.
- the Zireal Dual Blades were added too with TU5 in base World.
Also you didint talk about MH frontiers or MH Online Tittle Updates.
also in the witcher collaboration capcom added the gajalaka king , which is basically a fifth gen version of the shakalaka king.
The base Behemoth didn't let you craft Drachen layered, that came with Extreme Behemoth. The Drachen armor was an actual armor set which could be crafted after killing Behemoth
Just wanted to clarify: regular Tempered monsters did not gain health from their base counterparts - only AT Elders did.
And monsters in the Guiding Lands had more HP naturally.
Tempered Jho had increased health
Guiding lands monsters get more hp? It really doesn't feel like it lol, they've always felt more squishy.
@@sauceinmyface9302 Yeah, they get about 15-20% more HP from standard quests/investigations.
AT Vaal Hazak and AT Nergigante were whole new experiences when they came out.
The pain.
AT Nerg was such a fucking crazy quest. When I entered the second area and he zoomed up to me before instantly using the funny slam it put the fear of god into me for the rest of time.
At nergi is one of my fav fight in base world, it's pure adrenaline rush fight. xD
AT vaal was pretty easy to me
I remember grinding and learning AT Nerg over and over to get the full armor. I love that spiky bastard.
When I saw people with the layered armor from the quest I thought they were gods lol 🤣
Part of me still believe that the reasons for base rise being lack of content were from Covid and the first time they use their RE engine to make their MH game. Great video btw ❤
Yeah, it bothers me that so few people acknowledge this as the obvious reason.
(Though I think Rise also came out right before a quarterly fiscal report so they probably didn’t want to delay it past that)
Its such an obvious reasoning and its funny how no one gets it.
@@magnabueno5360 well what’s done is done but watching what capcom can do with their RE engine I really have high hope in MH6 now.
I do still think that it being made for the Switch had something to do with it, but not as much as those other things.
I never played any monster hunter games until the summer sale for world and iceborne. And theres a VERY clear reason rise+SB is just as much as iceborne alone. The fact i can get over 140 fps on a 10 year old cpu on epic tells me they had to scrap a good engine just to make it work on switch.
The reason fatalits is such a good fight is because it is simple and clean in its mechanics, but incredibly difficult to actually pull off in practice because you need to be at the top of your game to take it down
He really tests everything the game has taught you so far. Only true masters can best him, and it's a fair fight too
Even if not every title update was “perfect” damn are they such a good system and a great model for gaming as a whole. The team releases a full complete functioning game, supports it for a year, and then brings it to an end. It never overstays its welcome, it doesn’t try to convince us to wait several months for the game to function. They do fix a few issues here and there and address some complaints but each of these games would have been complete without the title updates. Additionally, the benefits of title updates is that they benefit the content that they add. Allowing the team a bit more time to add to the mechanics and monsters they implement. Meaning, if Fatalis was in release Iceborne, it either would have delayed Iceborne a lot or wouldn’t have been the same experience. The more spread out timeline allows these games to be more than they would have been. More companies should copy this strategy.
I do think we kind of see why more companies don't do something like the title updates though, which is funding. Making consistent content with music, complex fights, new armor and weapons, and new dialogue is quite the burden to take on, which I give Capcom a lot of respect for. But it's also probably why we're seeing more and more paid DLC that release over time, which keep those TUs free. Every other company releases it as a season pass, or DLC, or not at all. The only game that comes close would be Deep Rock, but it suffers from a slower release schedule.
Ngl waiting for events and helping other hunters overcome hard challenges was a core part of the experience for me. I'll never forget my first successful Extremoth hunt
MH is a series i always thought of as a "single player mmo RPG" and stuff like expansions, events, and title updates only renforce this idea
TL;DR - Monster Hunter is the best game franchise ever.
They pour their heart and soul into these games, and really care about the community. And it really shows when you go boot up the game on launch and everything works.
-Gold Rathian (Sunbreak) also brought the new Skill Status Trigger, alongside Defiance (TU1)
-Silver Rathalos (Sunbreak) brought Element Exploit, which as a proper decoration Skill was completely new (not be confused with the Rampage Skill which orks slightly different even if it shares the name) (TU1)
-As far as I know, you CANT lose Slots in Qurious Weapon Crafting (TU1)
-As a general disregard, the Skill+ and Slots+ rolls don't exclude rolling other stuff in favor of the targeted things, rather having increased odds and cost management in favor of them (TU3 -Bonus Update)
LOVE seeing videos on real life production of the series like this! Thanks man, keep up the great work!
The quality disparity between base rise updates and sunbreak's is crazy, we went from the most underwhelming bunch to what is probably the best set of post game updates in mh.
What Covid did to rise was wow.
Really sad that covid gimped it so hard because it feels like so many parts could have been built on more if they were added from the start
Sunbreak almost feels like them trying to make up for it
Huh, I actually didn't know World's TU's lasted that far. Extremely informative video!
I believe this is just for console. Major PC title updates were done before the pandemic even started
@@PigeonLord21irstly, didn't World release on consoles before pc? Second, when I looked into it, there was no mention of pc getting title updates before consoles, basegame or Iceborne.
@tuukkamatikainen3389 correct! But PC updates eventually caught up and for some reason pulled way ahead of console. Idk why, Capcom is weird lmao
@@PigeonLord21 huh, weird
Worth noting that these dates are for Console. PC updates were on a different schedule for World at least.
Came across this randomly while looking for information on Sunbreak's title updates and you delivered! This is the best, most comprehensive and crystal clear info video that gave me more than I asked for. Your way of narrative also a good plus so you gained a new subscriber here :D time to binge watching your videos about MH
TU1 in Rise also added in the ability to layer Rampage weapons into any weapon you wanted to. Rampage weapons were a class of weapons that were primarily crafted and upgraded by completing Rampage quests and getting tickets and materials obtained from Rampage monsters, Apexes and Ibushi at their respective difficulty level to craft and upgrade those weapons. These weapons were customizable allowing you at maximum level to alter the weapons in 5 options of 3 choices to add element, sharpness and any additional effects. Rampage weapons were rather underwhelming and primarily used for Bow and Great Sword since the upgrade path greatly benefitted those 2 weapons while every other weapon type had a superior option.
Sunbreak have really greats title update and really cool monsters
38:59
I think it was absolute PERFECT to not announce Bazel. The biggest thing about Bazel is the abrupt nature of its design. You are just hunting like normal, and then a Bazel comes out of nowhere to disrupt your hunt.
It was unfortunate that it was spoiled by Fugen’s dialogue for the final Village quest.
11:09 that corner'fuck' felt personal😂
if I could, I would peel the metal right off that stupid wind dragon
@@OceanizWorld Kushala sure was
A monster.
Great work, keep it up!
Can’t wait for the sunbreak forbidden episode and more documentaries when MH6 releases.
Not a correction but a fun fact. All of the monsters for Sunbreak's title updates were in the game by the time flaming Espinas was added shown by dataminers looking through the games code.
Anyone want underwater for the next game?
Yes
33:07 barring mixed sets with safi weapons and fatalis.
or some hyper specific glass canon setups that speedrunners use or using silver rathalos for an easier time doing elemental dps to alatreon. Yes it is peak.
And AT Velkhana and Namielle had some niche uses. Mostly their specific skills being better than their normal ones AT velk being SUPER goood at frostcraft as an example.
Woahhh!! Guess I just found an hour-long MH documentary to watch 😃 Awesome! Thanks, Oceaniz 😊🙏
This really makes me wonder if base Rise wasn't cut and got normal TUs, I wonder if the final TU monster would've been Amatsu rather than being Sunbreak's final boss. Its really strange that Rise's finale was Sunbreak's final TU and was clearly a call back to P3rd that base Rise already was and that Ichinose directed both but not Sunbreak and both invaders are already in Rise. And the infernal springs being added outta nowhere and was clearly meant for Amatsu but who appeared WAY later. And if so who would've taken Amatsu's spot in Sunbreak originally? I doubt they would've just knocked down P.Malzeno to TU5 and left alone as he's clearly meant to be Sunbreak's AT Velkhana not their Fatalis
I'd not be surprised if they planned to add Nergigante as part of base Rise updates
@@eren7kruger129 I could see him being added as an early to mid TU mon. Using him to wyvern ride and beat up other elders seems sick
@@eren7kruger129Where did you leap to that logic?
And why?
I for one am so fucking sick of Nergigante
@@emblemblade9245because they brought back Velkhana for Sunbreak for some reason
@@DememenicNergi being an closely associated flagship to Velk isn’t a good enough correlation
Man its wild we didnt get a single collab for sunbreak, hopefully they have a lot saved up for MH6
IIRC there is a Japanese exclusive collab with Red Bull.

Very informative video.
Great work!
The Kulve Taroth can be killed only in master rank and in the final update of Iceborne, the Safi'jiiva difficulty became scale for 1 to 2 players and all the event quest have become permanently avalible in the game without rotation.
Safi siege and Kulve rotate
Love your work and videos man!😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
me about to explain that white fatalis was dlc in 4u.
I really hope next MH takes the best of both worlds and add its own unique take
imagine AT nergi treatment and around the same level difficulty + new music theme remix + new appearance to the eldecr (like how risens change the looks but maybe change it more)
Thaaaanks!!! Follow you from the anime/manga era and decided to try mh rise because of your great videos on the series... And man i'm loving it! I haven't bought sunbreak yet and i was wondering what content i was able to access from the title updates and what not, thank you so much!!
the lost collabs of assassins creed and the movie makes me kinda sad. especially since the assasins creed mantle was so good for greatswords.
Can't wait to support you in MH6 aswell! : )
I hope MH6 has a better trophy list than World or Rise.
@@unicorntomboy9736wdym? Is it a steam thing?
@@magnabueno5360 PlayStation trophies. I thought it was obvious what I meant
The game being a product of covid making development rocky makes sense. The fact we went from rampage weapons and then literally scraping the whole system for anomalies was so jarring. I did like rampages and wished there was a master rank version.
I hope in the future you explained more about Kulve Taroth.
21:20 there is a way to reproduce this it only happens on these conditions
1:The siege must be done up until safi has his skull in one run the energy cannot be drained at all or this won't work
2:he needs to be on low HP around when the skull appears for his icon in the minimap
3:he needs to be flinched or knocked down
if all these conditions are met he will do it 100% of the time unless stopped speaking of stopped there is 3 ways to avoid quest failure
1: Flash pods - you may flash pod safi out of the sky before he can start the animation some nuance to this however if you have flashed him previously and recently he instead of falling out of the sky will just be flashed in the sky allowing him to continue and do his ULT though this may give the other players or you time to flinch him out of the sky
2: Farcasters - you can farcast before he does the animation
3: Patience - while the other 2 methods have noticeably drawbacks (not everyone farcasting/flashing too recently or safi doing the ULT twice) this method does not simply do not attack just wait until he does explosions to create rocks and then you may continue to damage him again, another thing while he is on low hp he will always try to do his big explosion attack followed by mini explosions in a circle after that you may attack and repeat this strategy until he is dead if even ONE player does not know about these strategys the run may very well end there unless you can flinch him out of the sky before he does it.
Great video started playing world 2 years after release so this is pretty intresting
Let's hope that Wilds will have even more support than world with amazing collabs
The sheer rage in that corner *FUCK* 💀
AT Lunastra is the bane of me
I love her fight (even better with Teostra) but it's just pure torture 😂
Alatreon...was started of people hating on it
Because people were so used to using elementless meta
Is blast an element?
Capcom: no hunter, blast is not an element...
@@LordShonji(hunter raises hand)
Capcom: Sleep is not an element either
Meanwhile, me with my Dual Blades of every element: I see no problems here
Mandatory dps checks just don't belong in monster hunter.
thanks for helping me w my homework, you a real one G
Great video! I sometimes forget what comes in the base game and wonder which parts were added on after. Now I know though :))
@Oceaniz how did you find that thumbnail of fatalis. Point me in the right direction I need a new wallpaper thanks 💯
Literally such a delight to watch. Not just the skill that makes you seem omniscient to where chameleos will land after invisible, or after he falls, but just the masterful music editing, and even some surprise memes thrown in. I'm forever going to look at his little happy clown feet from now on xD
Now i imagine the absurdity of an arch tempered Fatalis
@21:20 - In 2024 Safi can still be flinched before the crags fall, resulting in a team wipe. Since the service for the game has likely come to an end besides maybe DRM (thx capcom) it is unlikely it will ever be patched, and so it has become an unintended "feature" of the fight
59:12 3 times if you include that frontier subspecies iirc
This info was incredible! Its like a recap on my favorite series! I have never been great at endgame content since world... Life got busy around world and all its updates so it came to the wayside. Rise was okay to me. The wirebug system was tough to get used to. And i didnt have many people to play with. Im right at the point to go through it all again! Binging lore and ecology with you, building my own world through ttrpg. Its got me ready!! Just need that hunting party!
This is so good!
The 3rd title update happened on my birthday!
32:00 imagine the nightmare alternate reality where Capcom decided to not make one of the best boss fights in gaming history
Apex Monster in Rise have crafteble Weapons... the 'build-what-you-want' rampage weapons replace the classical 1 weapon per Monster and instead needed diverse apex materials for their upgrades and enhancement. Hearing from other peopel the missinformation that apex doesn't come with crafteble equipment makes me a littele bit sad every time.
It is not misinformation. All Apex Monsters dropping a single material each which is useful in the upgrading of one (1) weapon lineage is NOT the same as, or even comparable to, providing bespoke per-monster armor & weapons.
@@Oceaniz Having 1 collective shared line of weapons is NOT the same as the bespoken 'providing-NO-equipment'. ._:
@@LordShadowGizar Even if i do give you the thing with the weapons, they still don't have an armor set, being some of the only monsters in the entire series to do this. Also you used bespoke wrong.
I m just glas there is no cosmetic shop and battlepass in mh i m glad they remain the same since my childhood 😊
Rise's vanilla launch and patches were a disappointment, but Sunbreak really brought things back in a big way.
I'm convinced it was covid. But I guess we'll never truly know.
It was a combination of covid, the hacking data leak, the ports to pc and consoles, the switching over to the RE engine, and publisher meddling.
You have kept me sane at work while also scratching the monster hunter itch in my brain, thank you for your hard work and I am eagerly awaiting your next video!
I desperately need a link to that Fatalis art in the thumbnail
Behemoth was insane!
Shame we never got rampage armor, I feel it would've been epic
Oceaniz: I hope this was interesting
Me: I watched to the very end that should tell you something
How were new areas added on the guiding lands without loading zones
By opening up previously inaccessible areas.
The Final Fantasy 14 collab was also both ways, meaning that while MHW got Behemoth, FF14 got Rathalos.
He's easily one of my favorite mounts in 14!
I do not know why I watched all of this...I played both of these games from beginning to end....why did this video still keep watching???
Anyway good video

I still think mhw and iceborne was the best/had the best updates too. Collabo with FF? And Fatalis? GG
How’d you make your hunter invisible? Mods?
Yes
12:30 how does it “replace” the normal fight?
It is completely impossible to fight regular, high rank Kulve Taroth without cheating.
in another word, blizzard would consider each title update as expansion, and each expansion into 10 expansion costing $60 each
Idk I only played rise, following the game's title updates was a very cool experience for me.
i was re watching your video about fun facts about monster hunter rise and when i got into scorned magnamalo part i was having a question you sayed last monster to get without some kind of updates does this mean that someone like me who had bougth the base game rise and dos not khow when to buy sunbreak will not get amatsu and bluezeno( primoldial malzeno i call it blue zeno cuz its blue)

Rathalos
@@IndominusRex-wc1eyHere’s my guess. Rathian
Still waiting for the title updates on ps for 2 months 😢 WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUU everyone is going to beat the game without me 😭
Even I bought Ice Borne, I can't help but feel like I'm getting it for free
I want them to bring back themes to ps5 so i can use my nergugante one
As someone who loves World over Rise, I do have to give Rise props for actually having complete layered armor for all low/high rank monsters in the base game without having to pay for it's expansion like World did with Iceborne, even tho I Love Iceborne & think it's worth it.
If title updates were paid, I would not play mh anymore. TU and other free updates the game has provided since mhfu, or earlier, are part of the reason I love the series so much.
Man, are we spoiled with these updates.
Alatreon would’ve been so much better in sunbreak
As someone who just started playing I kinda wish I had experienced the staged progression instead of jumping straight up into all the content.
is this accurate? this year for my Ps4 update
No new content was added past what is described in the video, so it should still be accurate!
I cannot believe it, 5 gen is over. I’ll be seeing you in the 6th gen game….

World is the better starter game, Rise is considered easier by many
@@IndominusRex-wc1ey thx for the info
Some dude literally tried to argue with me that Rise came out complete. Like, damn bro, we didn't even have a final boss yet, chill.
I feel like they shouldn't have added cactuars. It breaks immersion for me, especially since the point of world was to immerse you into it's semi-realistic world.
i really love rise
wait a minute how are able to pronounce the word "Drachen" 9:56 so good I thought you were a native English-speaking person

I feel like the Apex monsters in rise should’ve had their own armor set because there’s no point in hunting them you all you get is just regular monster parts from them. It would’ve been awesome and cool if the Apex monsters had their own armor sets that had really good skills angle, decorations slots but did we get that no
I’ll always believe that it would’ve added only a few hours’ more playtime at most. I just don’t think much was lost by their omission.
@@emblemblade9245 absolutely not true. There is not much point on hunting them entirely. Theyr equipment would have possibly given even more variety on builds/meta.
@@eren7kruger129Problem is Rise was so lacking in any endgame content worth using meta builds for.
Now things might’ve been different in Sunbreak but that game already has a lot of good variation in meta builds, so it’s a moot point.
I wonder if anyone complained about 4U’s apex monsters for not giving new materials, other than Zenith Wyvern Gems. Would weapon upgrades have been enough appeasement in Rise?
@@emblemblade9245 The Zenith Wyvern Gems were more than enough because they allowed for weapon augmenting, and beyond that GQs were farmed more for the randomized equipment they dropped, not really the Apex Monsters. That's why everyone fought Apex Rajang unless they specifically wanted a design from one of the other Apexes/Elder Dragons.
@@eren7kruger129
They have better rare drop chances tho
I needed a rathalos ruby for fully upgrading its weapons and I farmed Apex instead because it has like, 20% chance of dropping them.
GREEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH I LOVE MONSTER HUNTER
"did not provide any weapon or armor sets"
Great video and Good explanation. Glad that Capcom only improved in terms of updates from that point on.
After Jho vanilla World's updates kind of sucked.
-Kulve is weapon farming and kind of a slogfest
-Lunastra is directly shit.
-The Witcher and Behemoth feel like a waste, got the feeling that those resources could've been put into better places. Pukei Pukei helping is cool and all... yet...
Both Leshen and Behemoth got to be some of the worst fights on the franchise. Barely any weapon from any of them. Arch tempered monsters werent any better, Xeno's was cool but the others? Who liked those fights? Not as much of a challenge. Already bad fights became worse (Kushala, Lunastra) and good fights became a chore. It doesn't help that World's monster AI wasn't at its best and some fights suffered from that.
Iceborne updates were great. Rise updates were few but far from bad and Sunbreak killed it with its updates. (Helps that Risen elder dragons are some of the best fights of its games unlike arch tempered)
i hope we get another world dlc. its the best Capcom game ever made and the most successful. plus its seeing a huge resurgence right now
We are never getting more MHW Content. Iceborne was the only expansion they wanted to make, and the team has moved on to MHRise and now MH6.

MH4U definitely did not have voice acting, but they did have monthly post-launch updates, and several “episodic quests” which had full storylines featuring NPCs from past Monster Hunter games!

God i hope the new mainline mh will be like world not just in terms of cool updates but also in feeling way more like a Community game an mmo lite of sorts atleast from the feeling of it i really enjoyed it
Far too much live service in world for my tastes, but the Followers system from Sunbreak gives me hope that Capcom will pay attention to the single player experience as well in the future.
yeah no. Content in MH should always be available offline and scaled accordingly. Sieges in world are godawful in the long run. More apparent now that the game is way less active.
