Even if not every title update was “perfect” damn are they such a good system and a great model for gaming as a whole. The team releases a full complete functioning game, supports it for a year, and then brings it to an end. It never overstays its welcome, it doesn’t try to convince us to wait several months for the game to function. They do fix a few issues here and there and address some complaints but each of these games would have been complete without the title updates. Additionally, the benefits of title updates is that they benefit the content that they add. Allowing the team a bit more time to add to the mechanics and monsters they implement. Meaning, if Fatalis was in release Iceborne, it either would have delayed Iceborne a lot or wouldn’t have been the same experience. The more spread out timeline allows these games to be more than they would have been. More companies should copy this strategy.
I do think we kind of see why more companies don't do something like the title updates though, which is funding. Making consistent content with music, complex fights, new armor and weapons, and new dialogue is quite the burden to take on, which I give Capcom a lot of respect for. But it's also probably why we're seeing more and more paid DLC that release over time, which keep those TUs free. Every other company releases it as a season pass, or DLC, or not at all. The only game that comes close would be Deep Rock, but it suffers from a slower release schedule.
Ngl waiting for events and helping other hunters overcome hard challenges was a core part of the experience for me. I'll never forget my first successful Extremoth hunt

I never played any monster hunter games until the summer sale for world and iceborne. And theres a VERY clear reason rise+SB is just as much as iceborne alone. The fact i can get over 140 fps on a 10 year old cpu on epic tells me they had to scrap a good engine just to make it work on switch.

TU1 in Rise also added in the ability to layer Rampage weapons into any weapon you wanted to. Rampage weapons were a class of weapons that were primarily crafted and upgraded by completing Rampage quests and getting tickets and materials obtained from Rampage monsters, Apexes and Ibushi at their respective difficulty level to craft and upgrade those weapons. These weapons were customizable allowing you at maximum level to alter the weapons in 5 options of 3 choices to add element, sharpness and any additional effects. Rampage weapons were rather underwhelming and primarily used for Bow and Great Sword since the upgrade path greatly benefitted those 2 weapons while every other weapon type had a superior option.

This really makes me wonder if base Rise wasn't cut and got normal TUs, I wonder if the final TU monster would've been Amatsu rather than being Sunbreak's final boss. Its really strange that Rise's finale was Sunbreak's final TU and was clearly a call back to P3rd that base Rise already was and that Ichinose directed both but not Sunbreak and both invaders are already in Rise. And the infernal springs being added outta nowhere and was clearly meant for Amatsu but who appeared WAY later. And if so who would've taken Amatsu's spot in Sunbreak originally? I doubt they would've just knocked down P.Malzeno to TU5 and left alone as he's clearly meant to be Sunbreak's AT Velkhana not their Fatalis
I really hope next MH takes the best of both worlds and add its own unique take imagine AT nergi treatment and around the same level difficulty + new music theme remix + new appearance to the eldecr (like how risens change the looks but maybe change it more)
@21:20 - In 2024 Safi can still be flinched before the crags fall, resulting in a team wipe. Since the service for the game has likely come to an end besides maybe DRM (thx capcom) it is unlikely it will ever be patched, and so it has become an unintended "feature" of the fight

TU 3 from World safed me because i struggled a lot to get Teostras big Gold Crown but after the Quest i got Platinum for World. Fatalis was something else, i tryed it for 3 days with not one slay and i was about to give up but then i had one of this lucky encounters with 3 Randoms where everything was perfect, after the first slay i was exited and we stuck together until we all had the Armor.
Apex Monster in Rise have crafteble Weapons... the 'build-what-you-want' rampage weapons replace the classical 1 weapon per Monster and instead needed diverse apex materials for their upgrades and enhancement. Hearing from other peopel the missinformation that apex doesn't come with crafteble equipment makes me a littele bit sad every time.
It is not misinformation. All Apex Monsters dropping a single material each which is useful in the upgrading of one (1) weapon lineage is NOT the same as, or even comparable to, providing bespoke per-monster armor & weapons.
@@LordShadowGizar Even if i do give you the thing with the weapons, they still don't have an armor set, being some of the only monsters in the entire series to do this. Also you used bespoke wrong.
21:20 there is a way to reproduce this it only happens on these conditions 1:The siege must be done up until safi has his skull in one run the energy cannot be drained at all or this won't work 2:he needs to be on low HP around when the skull appears for his icon in the minimap 3:he needs to be flinched or knocked down if all these conditions are met he will do it 100% of the time unless stopped speaking of stopped there is 3 ways to avoid quest failure 1: Flash pods - you may flash pod safi out of the sky before he can start the animation some nuance to this however if you have flashed him previously and recently he instead of falling out of the sky will just be flashed in the sky allowing him to continue and do his ULT though this may give the other players or you time to flinch him out of the sky 2: Farcasters - you can farcast before he does the animation 3: Patience - while the other 2 methods have noticeably drawbacks (not everyone farcasting/flashing too recently or safi doing the ULT twice) this method does not simply do not attack just wait until he does explosions to create rocks and then you may continue to damage him again, another thing while he is on low hp he will always try to do his big explosion attack followed by mini explosions in a circle after that you may attack and repeat this strategy until he is dead if even ONE player does not know about these strategys the run may very well end there unless you can flinch him out of the sky before he does it.
Thaaaanks!!! Follow you from the anime/manga era and decided to try mh rise because of your great videos on the series... And man i'm loving it! I haven't bought sunbreak yet and i was wondering what content i was able to access from the title updates and what not, thank you so much!!
DD2's Title updates are smaller then MH's but they are also called the same.. which initially caused me confusion as i gotten used to Worlds Title updates.
Nice video, played rise on launch but kinda didn't keep going and finally got back to it and was kinda overwhelmed. I did beat primordial malzeno before meeting a risen and barely doing anomaly investigation so that's kinda out of order😅
This info was incredible! Its like a recap on my favorite series! I have never been great at endgame content since world... Life got busy around world and all its updates so it came to the wayside. Rise was okay to me. The wirebug system was tough to get used to. And i didnt have many people to play with. Im right at the point to go through it all again! Binging lore and ecology with you, building my own world through ttrpg. Its got me ready!! Just need that hunting party!
The devs of Monster Hunter are truly OGs for releasing fully fleshed out games and still continueing to update them for free. Other companys could really learn from them if it wasnt just about the fcking money for them
One issue I have with the system of title updates is that they have repeatedly overshadowed the game‘s big story boss. Shara Ishvalda, Allmother Narwa and Gaismagorm are all not talked about as much as they should imo, and Xeno‘Jihva only is because of the existence of Safi.
i was re watching your video about fun facts about monster hunter rise and when i got into scorned magnamalo part i was having a question you sayed last monster to get without some kind of updates does this mean that someone like me who had bougth the base game rise and dos not khow when to buy sunbreak will not get amatsu and bluezeno( primoldial malzeno i call it blue zeno cuz its blue)
@@alderwield9636 basyclly i read it and wondered if you cant get the updates for amatsu and primordial malzeno if someone got base rise like a month or 2 ago
35:45 VERY glad they introduced solo scaling for Safi, as I just soloed the siege today lol. Also I had no idea the movie crossover event was made unaccessible due to something so dumb...but what else to expect with that film company
i gotta make a gripe and say a title update doesnt always have to up the games version by a whole number infact i'd say thats probably extremely rare, a 2.0 might as well be a whole new game generally, Terraria has recieved numerous title updates and its only 1.4 and the next update as much as they wanna pretend is a 1.4.5 is probably 1.5 title update, a title update is usually so large that it can have a title, like again terrarias example of jorneys end (the supposedly last update before they decided to do more updating)
As someone who loves World over Rise, I do have to give Rise props for actually having complete layered armor for all low/high rank monsters in the base game without having to pay for it's expansion like World did with Iceborne, even tho I Love Iceborne & think it's worth it.
each update had paid cosmetics, but they were at the end of the episode and a footnote to the major gameplay stuff. still hats off to capcom for free updates
Great video and Good explanation. Glad that Capcom only improved in terms of updates from that point on. After Jho vanilla World's updates kind of sucked. -Kulve is weapon farming and kind of a slogfest -Lunastra is directly shit. -The Witcher and Behemoth feel like a waste, got the feeling that those resources could've been put into better places. Pukei Pukei helping is cool and all... yet... Both Leshen and Behemoth got to be some of the worst fights on the franchise. Barely any weapon from any of them. Arch tempered monsters werent any better, Xeno's was cool but the others? Who liked those fights? Not as much of a challenge. Already bad fights became worse (Kushala, Lunastra) and good fights became a chore. It doesn't help that World's monster AI wasn't at its best and some fights suffered from that. Iceborne updates were great. Rise updates were few but far from bad and Sunbreak killed it with its updates. (Helps that Risen elder dragons are some of the best fights of its games unlike arch tempered)
If title updates were paid, I would not play mh anymore. TU and other free updates the game has provided since mhfu, or earlier, are part of the reason I love the series so much.
I do not know why I watched all of this...I played both of these games from beginning to end....why did this video still keep watching??? Anyway good video me like
People who are hating on ICEBORNE Alatreon are all hypocrites anyway..this old gen wannabe's are Complaining about elemental weaknesses being more relevant and more important to the Quest. Outright refusing to actually read the guide in how to take the MONSTER down, resulting in instant cart, multiple failed quest because "OLD GEN PRIDE".
At least old gen players actually bothered to learn the mechanics themselves through trial, error, discipline, and communication with the community. It’s no wonder they were so annoyed at the existence of a monster that forced you to play a certain way or automatically lose, the entire thing just became a pass/fail check of “are your allies competent enough to read and follow directions?” Boring!
No way, your telling me they are upset over a mechanic that completely changes the flow of gameplay, of a game franchise that was at the time 14 years old? New world players really are spoiled.
@@kevine9474 because you're a Hypocrite, it's like using Fire weapons on a fire MONSTER or hunting a 9 star monster with low rank gear because I don't wanna do what the game tills me to do. By the way The combat mechanics have been changing in every entry you fool, like Underwater combat, HUNTER arts, Clutch and Wirebugs. You bound to play by that rule whether you like it or not.
I feel like they shouldn't have added cactuars. It breaks immersion for me, especially since the point of world was to immerse you into it's semi-realistic world.
Instead of hoping for new DLC. Hope they make another game in a very similar style to world, which I am really hoping real hard is what wilds will be. But more desert focused.

I doubt they would've just knocked down P.Malzeno to TU5 and left alone as he's clearly meant to be Sunbreak's AT Velkhana not their Fatalis
I'd not be surprised if they planned to add Nergigante as part of base Rise updates
@@eren7kruger129 I could see him being added as an early to mid TU mon. Using him to wyvern ride and beat up other elders seems sick

Woahhh!! Guess I just found an hour-long MH documentary to watch 😃 Awesome! Thanks, Oceaniz 😊🙏
the lost collabs of assassins creed and the movie makes me kinda sad. especially since the assasins creed mantle was so good for greatswords.
I really hope next MH takes the best of both worlds and add its own unique take
imagine AT nergi treatment and around the same level difficulty + new music theme remix + new appearance to the eldecr (like how risens change the looks but maybe change it more)
Anyone want underwater for the next game?
Yes
@21:20 - In 2024 Safi can still be flinched before the crags fall, resulting in a team wipe. Since the service for the game has likely come to an end besides maybe DRM (thx capcom) it is unlikely it will ever be patched, and so it has become an unintended "feature" of the fight
Literally such a delight to watch. Not just the skill that makes you seem omniscient to where chameleos will land after invisible, or after he falls, but just the masterful music editing, and even some surprise memes thrown in. I'm forever going to look at his little happy clown feet from now on xD
Alatreon...was started of people hating on it

TU 3 from World safed me because i struggled a lot to get Teostras big Gold Crown but after the Quest i got Platinum for World. Fatalis was something else, i tryed it for 3 days with not one slay and i was about to give up but then i had one of this lucky encounters with 3 Randoms where everything was perfect, after the first slay i was exited and we stuck together until we all had the Armor.
The sheer rage in that corner *FUCK* 💀
Apex Monster in Rise have crafteble Weapons... the 'build-what-you-want' rampage weapons replace the classical 1 weapon per Monster and instead needed diverse apex materials for their upgrades and enhancement. Hearing from other peopel the missinformation that apex doesn't come with crafteble equipment makes me a littele bit sad every time.
It is not misinformation. All Apex Monsters dropping a single material each which is useful in the upgrading of one (1) weapon lineage is NOT the same as, or even comparable to, providing bespoke per-monster armor & weapons.
@@Oceaniz Having 1 collective shared line of weapons is NOT the same as the bespoken 'providing-NO-equipment'. ._:
@@LordShadowGizar Even if i do give you the thing with the weapons, they still don't have an armor set, being some of the only monsters in the entire series to do this. Also you used bespoke wrong.
21:20 there is a way to reproduce this it only happens on these conditions
1:The siege must be done up until safi has his skull in one run the energy cannot be drained at all or this won't work
2:he needs to be on low HP around when the skull appears for his icon in the minimap
3:he needs to be flinched or knocked down
if all these conditions are met he will do it 100% of the time unless stopped speaking of stopped there is 3 ways to avoid quest failure
1: Flash pods - you may flash pod safi out of the sky before he can start the animation some nuance to this however if you have flashed him previously and recently he instead of falling out of the sky will just be flashed in the sky allowing him to continue and do his ULT though this may give the other players or you time to flinch him out of the sky
2: Farcasters - you can farcast before he does the animation
3: Patience - while the other 2 methods have noticeably drawbacks (not everyone farcasting/flashing too recently or safi doing the ULT twice) this method does not simply do not attack just wait until he does explosions to create rocks and then you may continue to damage him again, another thing while he is on low hp he will always try to do his big explosion attack followed by mini explosions in a circle after that you may attack and repeat this strategy until he is dead if even ONE player does not know about these strategys the run may very well end there unless you can flinch him out of the sky before he does it.
Thaaaanks!!! Follow you from the anime/manga era and decided to try mh rise because of your great videos on the series... And man i'm loving it! I haven't bought sunbreak yet and i was wondering what content i was able to access from the title updates and what not, thank you so much!!
AT Lunastra is the bane of me
I love her fight (even better with Teostra) but it's just pure torture 😂
Let's hope that Wilds will have even more support than world with amazing collabs
Some dude literally tried to argue with me that Rise came out complete. Like, damn bro, we didn't even have a final boss yet, chill.
32:00 imagine the nightmare alternate reality where Capcom decided to not make one of the best boss fights in gaming history
How were new areas added on the guiding lands without loading zones
By opening up previously inaccessible areas.
DD2's Title updates are smaller then MH's but they are also called the same.. which initially caused me confusion as i gotten used to Worlds Title updates.
thanks for helping me w my homework, you a real one G
I hope in the future you explained more about Kulve Taroth.
in another word, blizzard would consider each title update as expansion, and each expansion into 10 expansion costing $60 each
Now i imagine the absurdity of an arch tempered Fatalis
59:12 3 times if you include that frontier subspecies iirc
Rise's vanilla launch and patches were a disappointment, but Sunbreak really brought things back in a big way.
I'm convinced it was covid. But I guess we'll never truly know.
It was a combination of covid, the hacking data leak, the ports to pc and consoles, the switching over to the RE engine, and publisher meddling.
Just getting back into sunbreak, this is super helpful for me!
All of the MH Rise updates summarized:
“Better late then never”
The devs of Monster Hunter are truly OGs for releasing fully fleshed out games and still continueing to update them for free.
I still think mhw and iceborne was the best/had the best updates too. Collabo with FF? And Fatalis? GG
12:30 how does it “replace” the normal fight?
It is completely impossible to fight regular, high rank Kulve Taroth without cheating.
Sunbreak really overdelivered on Title Updates. Goddamn
World's title updates were cool additions to a finished product
Rise's title updates felt like they were finishing the game
Very informative video.
Great work!
@Oceaniz how did you find that thumbnail of fatalis. Point me in the right direction I need a new wallpaper thanks 💯
Oceaniz: I hope this was interesting

Great video started playing world 2 years after release so this is pretty intresting

me about to explain that white fatalis was dlc in 4u.
Older MH games never had any real dlc. The content was always already in the game, you only downloaded a small unlock file so to say.

Same thing happened with the assassins creed event quest & hunter tool
i gotta make a gripe and say a title update doesnt always have to up the games version by a whole number infact i'd say thats probably extremely rare, a 2.0 might as well be a whole new game generally, Terraria has recieved numerous title updates and its only 1.4 and the next update as much as they wanna pretend is a 1.4.5 is probably 1.5 title update, a title update is usually so large that it can have a title, like again terrarias example of jorneys end (the supposedly last update before they decided to do more updating)
Shame we never got rampage armor, I feel it would've been epic
As someone who loves World over Rise, I do have to give Rise props for actually having complete layered armor for all low/high rank monsters in the base game without having to pay for it's expansion like World did with Iceborne, even tho I Love Iceborne & think it's worth it.
The 3rd title update happened on my birthday!
Great video! I sometimes forget what comes in the base game and wonder which parts were added on after. Now I know though :))
Question which monsters do u think will transfer over to the next monster hunter

How’d you make your hunter invisible? Mods?
Yes
each update had paid cosmetics, but they were at the end of the episode and a footnote to the major gameplay stuff. still hats off to capcom for free updates
Great video and Good explanation. Glad that Capcom only improved in terms of updates from that point on.
After Jho vanilla World's updates kind of sucked.
-Kulve is weapon farming and kind of a slogfest
-Lunastra is directly shit.
I desperately need a link to that Fatalis art in the thumbnail
This is so good!
I m just glas there is no cosmetic shop and battlepass in mh i m glad they remain the same since my childhood 😊
If title updates were paid, I would not play mh anymore. TU and other free updates the game has provided since mhfu, or earlier, are part of the reason I love the series so much.
I do not know why I watched all of this...I played both of these games from beginning to end....why did this video still keep watching???
Anyway good video

Just got a ps5 which monster hunter should I get idk which is better
World is the better starter game, Rise is considered easier by many

People who are hating on ICEBORNE Alatreon are all hypocrites anyway..this old gen wannabe's are
Complaining about elemental weaknesses being more relevant and more important to the Quest.
Not really, I love it at launch because it makes all rawcucks whine like a baby
Wait, thats why theyre called world babies. They cry. 😩
As someone who just started playing I kinda wish I had experienced the staged progression instead of jumping straight up into all the content.
I feel like they shouldn't have added cactuars. It breaks immersion for me, especially since the point of world was to immerse you into it's semi-realistic world.
Yeah kinda annoying to always being there.
