BOTH GLASSES ARE A SCAM
NO THEY DONT the filter the color
@@LeviandreiHernandezthey are tho , color deficiency has no cure at all
@@LeviandreiHernandez if you don't have a color receptor how does filtering make you see ?
@@N-mj15 They aren't supposed to be a cure. They're just supposed to help the person see the difference in colors better
As a color blind person I can say without a doubt they at least do something. When he films through the glass I can see the number in the test, without them I see nothing.
I remember going through College without ever seeing the red dot that Professors use on the laser pointer. Whenever they say “this part that I’m circling on.” and I always try to ask my seat mate what exactly is the Prof encircling. 10 years later I come to find out I’m colorblind because of a pre-employment physical.
I had the same problem it was so frustrating not being able 2 follow the lectures correctly. I am attending a medical faculty and whenever we would have lectures where there were cell's shown under a microscope, and get this the cells are usually colored red, blue with a green, ghrey ish background also they are round and clumped together.... sooo basically whenever the cell's where shown i was taking a colorblind test.
Funny thing is my mate is also colorblind but he didn't know that he was. So the 2 of us thought that the laser pointer was broken and that the professor just didnt notice. So a week later my buddy and i learned that he was color blind like me and that the laser pointer did in fact work..
That is top tear mindfuck. I have mild deuteranomaly, but i have no problem with laser pointers.
A friend of mine went through a similar experience. He never knew he was colorblind until he was tested for medical fitness when he tried for a job. He was devastated for a time knowing about it!
Because of a physical?
Surprised and confused here. My understanding was, “colorblind” people can see all the things, but they have reduced ability to discern between some colors. I’d have thought you would be able to see the laser dot, but wouldn’t be sure if it was brown, red, or green. 🤔
When I was teaching physics during the light portion I would always project several color blind test circles and ask the class if they could see them. One time a boy said there were no numbers and the entire class was trying to tease him. I gave him a red filter to look through and for the next five minutes he put the filter in front of his eye then away from his eye. He did not believe nor know that he was colorblind and he was a senior.
Same thing happened to me (but without the red filter). I was in biology class when was 17 and discovered I was colourblind. It's hadn't had a major impact on my life. Only one on or 2 occassions.
Same with me. Senior year HS in chemistry class. I thought the wet indicator strip color matched the dry example on the box. My lab-mate set me straight. Later in applying for ROTC it was confirmed: "Deficient Color Perception”.
my husband is 30 and he just recently discovered he is color blind. he said something at work about not liking the color of his green uniform shirt the management has to wear and an employee pointed out to him that it wasn't green, but blue. he came home from work and asked me what color his shirt was. when I said blue, he told me about the conversation at work. I gave him some blue-yellow color blindness tests and he's tritan colorblind. he had no idea. now every day, we have discussions about color. he is absolutely blown away that I can see things he can't.
I didn’t know color blindness was a thing and nobody ever tested me for it so I don’t know what any color is other than yellow and blue because I have protanopia
@@rommiemex9532same exact thing happened to me lol
Shame on you for advertising a scam!!
Shame on you for being gullible.
All he reviewed was the build quality. In reality both are just scams that don't work at all.
I think my favorite thing about pilestone is that they do glasses for my colourblindness (tritan) which most companies don't do
For sure! Yeah I thought that was pretty cool too
Tritanomaly or Tritanopia? My son is the former
This really lets us see the true colors when these two brands are contrasted with one another, very insightful.
Thank you for updated colorblindness information.
Any time! 👍
Thank You! I always wondered about this very subject 👍😊
Severe deuteranopia and I've purchased a pair of indoor enchroma glasses and a pair of pilestone glasses with lens B (that's the one their test said would work for me. Materials definitely goes to enchroma, the frames and lens material is terrific. Function goes to pilestone. With the Enchroma glasses every now and then it seems like I notice the color of something I would have ignored before, but that could just be because I'm looking for colors. The pilestone lenses make everything pop. As far as empirical data, with the pilestone glasses I can pass colorblindness tests with ease, but the Enchroma glasses have the same results as I show without assistance.
With mild deutan, as does my granddad & brother, I've compared both brands. Enchroma aced it, Pilestone was okay, sort of somewhere midrange. Comparatively, Pilestone seemed to sort of neutralize a lot of colors, but highlighted red & orange, some greens a little. [Stop signs turned orange, however, which I didn't like so well.] Enchroma's enabled me to see true orange for what it is, not a dirty mustard yellow, highlighted greens amazingly, reds too, inclusive of blues. (A color I saw well before but even brighter now.) In all fairness, it did also cancel some other colors as well, like brown & gray, which gray is a shade, not a color in any case.
Pilestone does enable clear visibility of the Ishihara plates & cancels-out the invisible/reverse test plates designed exclusively for color deficient ppl, like me. *Noting, those specific plates are a qualitative, not quantitative unit of measure as not all R/G deficiencies able to read them anyway.
Prior to this, I'd always presumed it was a B/Y CVD as I'd suffered a severe BTI/concussion 23-yrs. ago. Until last year, I used the Ishihara concise ed./14-plate book only to discover my granddad is also the same way & more recent, my only brother is also this too. Go fig!... We're all mild cases of deuteranomaly.
Excellent video. I especially appreciated you showing the test plates through the glasses. From looking at just a bunch of meaningless dots, I could suddenly clearly see "8" and "5"! I may have to try these glasses sometime.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!
Wait, the dot-test shows 5 and 8 before the glasses were in front (if you are not colourblind like me)? I thought you had edited the video to showcase the effect.
@@EsbenRaakjaer it's not edited
They only effect contrast. they don't actually let you see new colors..
True! They use types of band filters to make colors more obvious, but they do not make color vision "normal".
They do though…………………
@@pogmonke5217If you would have a camera where the sensors that are supposed to react to green, react more to yellow nothing in front of this sensor can push the image back to normal colors. It could only be corrected afterwards with a dedicated software on the raw image. Same goes for our eyes. So as long as there is nothing that repairs the receptors in our eyes or we get a chip in our head that corrects the incoming signal: colorblindness can‘t be undone. But that‘s what the glasses are advertised for. If they would say the glasses enhance color contrast everything would be fine … but no one would spent 300$ on this anymore.
@@hcl8836 No, the same does not go for the eyes since cameras and eyes work differently and no one is claiming that these glasses undo colour blindness.
Coloryte was the first colorblind corrective glasses. They went out of business several years ago. They were expensive, but tailored to each person. These two new ones are more “one size fits all”. Colorblindness varies greatly between people, so your results may not be great. I have severe red/green deficiency, so I’m hesitant, but I may give them a try.
Hi! I was wondering if you finally decided to buy one and if so how is it? I’m planning to buy my boyfriend the pilestone glasses with lens D (I asked him to take the test to see which lens will work for his type) because he also has red and green deficiency. I would appreciate your review if you have one🤍
i know i am color blind. i live in india and my brother lives in canada. If i need to ask him to buy me one of these glasses, how do i go about giving hime the exact color blindness i have so he can buy the right glasses for me.
@@anstykarkada They only effect contrast. They don't actually let you see new colors. A red tinted lense can help you differentiate between the two, but they also cause some colors to blend which you can normally differentiate without them.
All these glasses are a scam do your research.
@@hungrycamperfilms exactly. I'm at least red-green colour blind; I'm still trying to figure out what other colour vision deficiencies I have. It's a pain. But a fool and his money are easily parted. I'm no fool.
This whole video is about the build quality. I want to know about effectiveness. I just tried the Pilestones, and they just tinted everything red- very little real-world advantage. It made some colorblind cards easier to see and made no difference in others. A couple it actually made it more difficult.
I was the exact same with Pilestone.. Returned them immediately. Unfortunately it's given me some doubt about the Enchromas.
At least you have a prop for a Cyclops or a Matt Murdock cosplay
Just bought some Pilestone clip-ons for a friend (got two different lenses for his strong protan just to cover all the bases) and neither worked for him. In his words, "They do not work at all". I'm wondering if I should now try the Enchromas for him and I'm thinking probably not. I just sent an email to Pilestone to get a return label sent to my friend so that he can return them.
@@jimjr1221 Write back if you do try Enchromas, but pull up some colorblind tests online and have him try them with and without the Pilestones
Thanks for the video bro, i was struggling to choose one of then, things are more clear now.
No problem 👍 glad I could help!
What lens did you use for the enchroma Ellis glasses in this video? I could see completely with it but I got the one they recommended me and can’t see with it.
Great review, thank you.
I love when you put the two pairs across the color-blind test - the 8 and 5 (I can't see either number w/o the glasses). The side-by-side with the two manufacturers does help, too.
I wonder: Does the filtering quality stop working as well over time? I've had a pair of Enchroma for several years and it just seems they aren't working as well as when they were new - or am I just used to them?
One thing many may not think of: Just because someone can now see color accurately - since you've never known what color "something" is, you may now be seeing it accurately and simply don't know what it is! Don't know if that makes sense but it sure is something I've experienced - I can tell a color is very vivid and different than I've ever seen but sure don't know WHAT that color is.
Although I haven’t actually held Pilestone glasses I’m about to order Enchroma again for the second time. Worth every penny.
I've had Pilestone twice and both times they broke. Though the first time was on me because I sat on the glasses. I have a huge head and I had to literally put the glasses in boiling water to stretch them out and it was too much for the frames. I just ordered the XL enchroma glasses.
Wow, you answered every question I dont care about and didnt touch how well they actually work.
always wanted to know how they work. seems like they filter the colours not affected, making the blind tones brighter - but the overall picture darker.
I used to get 15% on an ishiara test, but with my pilestone lens b glasses I get over 90% on the ishiara test. Would recommend them as a tester to see how you get on with them, and then move on to investing more money if they work for you.
Good for you! I got 5 percent, getting my glasses soon
I'm not colorblind, but I could tell the enchroma glasses made the colors pop more than my regular vision. It was pretty cool.
Hi! I am colorblind and was looking at glasses. I was wondering if when you put on the glasses, with a red lense for example, do you get a red tint, or see everything in a red shade, Like a filter? Thanks
For me, the Enchroma makes both numbers stand out clearly. With the other glasses I can see the right number(not as well defined as Enchroma) but I can't really tell the left number.
Thank you for doing this video! I got Enchroma's for Christmas (indoor, my prescription) and they do work for me and I absolutely LOVE them. I have mild blue/green colorblindness. The biggest difference for me (besides coloring of course) is that driving at night is so much better. My boyfriend decided to get them for me from your other colorblindness video, so thank you!!
That is so great to hear!!! Thanks for sharing!!
Hi If iam a mild deutan, what enchroma indoor glasses (tranaparent lens) should i get. Thanks in advance
I’m a mild red-green, and I got the pilestone outdoor glasses.
The red pops out a lot, and it’s actually shocking to realize how red is red, I realized how many others things were a shade of red, from drier plants along the way to small red objects across the fields..!
but on the downside, the sky turned almost purple. I’m not sure anymore what color is the sky, but the way I used to see it without my glasses on (this nice blue color), it’s way better.
Again, I don’t know if the sky is indeed “purple” or it’s the way the glasses work to bring out the reds..
in any case, I prefer the blue sky, and stopped using the glasses.
Which lens type did u get!!
The sky is a blue, but it can have purple hues
WOW your video just made my mind up!!! I'm 36 and strong protan and when you held the lenses up to the "dot test" it revealed the number. I SAW A NUMBER FOR ONCE!!!! Thank you so much !!!
Does the video show the number for people with full colour vision though? Or is it specifically only colourblind people who can only see the number post the glasses moving in the way...
Non colorblind can see the number before and after
@@rommiemex9532 so u know
Great comparision 👌👍
Thank you! Glad you think so!!
Can you please do a video on Neurolens?! It is supposed to treat computer vision syndrome but I'd like to learn more about it in terms of how to use them, cost, safety, side effects, etc.
OMG I want to do a video on Neurolens so badly!!! I just don't have it at our office and I don't know of any nearby offices who have it. I know a lot about it though and many doctors rave about it.
My son just had an ENG1 medical exam for seafaring and the doc found that he is color blind - this puts restrictions on his ability to do night duty lookout and he may not be allowed to qualify as a skipper? He also may not be able to join the navy which is his dream! Would these glasses be useful for him? Especially on night duty on the ocean?
Hi doctor, what do you think of colorlite?? Which glasses hands down do you recommend for passing Ishihara? And what do you think of that guy in Baltimore, colormax?
Thanks. This what we have been waiting for. In Europe we would need such an comparison video for Colordrop vs. Enchroma.
I will look into the color drop thanks
Thanks! this is helpful, I want to buy my glasses right now but until now i wasnt sure which brand i should go for.
Awesome video man 😎
Thank you! I appreciate that! I am still trying to improve my filming and camera skills. Thank you again! I appreciate it!
@@DoctorEyeHealth I think they are great 👍
I know a lot if people here are looking for the effectiveness of the glasses and not the quality. I have the pilestone pair and they make the colors you can't see pop out. They don't make you see the world in a special way and just allow you to distinguish the different colors. So I wouldn't really recommend getting them unless you have strong colorblindness. They have a red hue and aren't really that cool to look through because it dulls all colors.
I live in Minnesota too. I just saw your past videos and love them.
Woot Woot! Don't you just love this -30 windchill lol
@@DoctorEyeHealthare you familiar with a town called Hibbing. Its cool to find someone who is in the same state as you

What is the best eye drop for eye pain due to strain or eye squinting
Well I think anything for dry eye would be good. We just posted a recent video on the different types of eye drops for dry eye. ruclips.net/video/UrmpLwR7vt4/видео.html
I only use the word scam, as all companies involved in marketing these products put out misleading information of what the product is supposed to do and reference studies with clear conflicts of interest. You are lead to believe that you can “see new colours “ or “see colors correctly “. All that can be achieved is the removal of information or “filtering” to boost contrast in some areas, and that’s fine, but that is a trade off for colour accuracy and diminished brightness.
I just got a pair of pilestones lens b types for my dad. I hope they work well for him.
If I was colorblind and I was at his office, I'd try on both brands at once. Maybe the two together would be better than either separately.
I’m trying to get color blind glasses for Christmas. That’s on my Christmas list and my dad says if they will work that he will get them for me. I’m really hoping they will allow me to be an electrician.
Thanks for doing this

I have allergic conjunctivitis since 6 months and it didn't cured, I am not finding much problem with it but at night car lights are very distracting and street lamps too and usually my eyes are little bit red, how to get rid this? And for info I have been wearing specs from last 1 year. ( nearsighted). Pls reply soon
Hi mate, i've tried my test in enchroma and it says moderate deutan, more red than green cons. But when i checked the glasses, they are like sunglasses with dark lens. I want something that people will think it is for bad vision with more invisible lens. Is there something like that? Or is there is lens that u add to ur eye, for example green len that works, instead the red, which is visible to people? Thanks.
Just do the poly drop test. It makes a very distinctive poker chip sound vs any other material. Or take a metal PD stick along the bevel as another more destructive option. I personally think the drop test is safer for the lens.
I love the old videos of the drop test! I should do a video like that.
I ordered my enchroma glasses this morning.
Awesome! I hope you love them!
How was the glasses? Works ?

Wouldnt the sunglass version darken the colors, including inside the house? For example, it's okay to wear typical glasses indoors and outdoors vs wearing sunglasses indoors. Can you wear the indoor ones outside?
i was thinking about the same
I'm gonna get this for my dad 🙂

Amazing question! And yes! I have several patients who have had it and I have many good pictures. I will see if I can bump that up on my video list. If it is chronic, as it sounds like it is in your case, injections do often help, but some medications for high blood pressure, Prolensa eye drops, and even melatonin supplementation has been suggested as additional treatments that can help (but it is important to discuss these options with your treating physician). Also, you need to avoid oral or nasal steroids, and consider reducing stress if possible.
The lenses seem to show different colours more sharply, but would we be able to identify them?

first from 🇵🇭DOC will the strained eye or dry eye disappear and will my eye return to its former clarity?
Hey Thanks for the question Ruru! It is difficult to answer that question without an examination. But usually eye strain improves with rest and proper glasses prescriptions. Dry eye can improve but depends on how severe and chronic it is. What all have you been trying?

Hello i have a strong protan color blind ness, what shoud i buy?
I was interested in buying these, but none will fit me since the pairs are just set to one size only
If youre not colorblind nor have worn these, you cant comment on whether these work or not. Im moderate-severe protan and my reds basically do not exist until I put these glasses on. Whether or not I can pass a color blind test, doesnt matter at all. I have not tried enchroma, but I have pilestone and they work well. I basically cant notice reds unless im staring dead at it and looking for it. When I put the glasses on the color is undeniable and bright.

Can I tell them or ask them that if they can. Set the eyeglasses for both color blind and have Blurry eyes?
i read all the comments. i am going to buy Enchroma for my son soon. I'm not a rich, but as a father to a colour blinded son, i try the best to give him and colour blind glasses. just discover he has an colour blind, last 2 week. one of the most touching feeling for me, when he saw the price of Enchroma, and told me... just dont buy it. he just feel ok without it...
Pilestone didn’t work for me
Soon I will be able to see orange pink and blue let’s gooo
I have enchroma glasses and it was not like those amazing emotional viral videos reaction. Their online and app test suggested protan. I was disappointed. Only good thing is it makes green light more obvious (instead of like warm white, it became more emerald green) on traffic lights after few weeks of using it. I just tried Pilestone online test and result was strong Deutan. I just ordered it and hopefully it will make a difference.
Hi, how did the Pilestone ones work for you?
@@aysahep1256 Didn't work for me either. This Pilestone glasses (Deutan) made brown color kinda red. Other colors that I can't see or distinguish like purple and certain shades of green and red, that didn't make any difference for me. I returned it. I was going to exchange for protan glasses but gave up on it. It's ok, still can live my life without it. It might work for you and you just have to try them out. I would try Pilestone first because enchroma it's an expensive experiment.
Have you contact lens for colour blind red and green? If have how many price and how can I get? I am from Bangladesh.
I have both glasses. Pilestone pops red, with Enchroma red changes darker.
Hi. So what about greens? Can You tell You see it different?
is we really gonna see green? i wondering about it
