So true, I started out as a sit down rider pretty much my whole life, years ago I started watching Ryno videos and emulating them during my rides. Unfortunately riding with bad habits for so long trying new and correct habits felt unnatural and uncomfortable and I became tired fast, muscles just not used to it. Then I turned the corner kept watching Ryno’s videos to make sure I was following the videos correctly and incorporated it every ride, my best guess for me and being older hence riding with bad habits for a very long time, about 9 months or so it just started happening. The first thing I noticed I was standing pretty much all the time and about the 2nd ride standing I was blown away thinking to myself wow I’m now standing with out even thinking about it and the best part it now feels natural, smooth and flowing and my speed went up and every time I rode my speed just kept increasing and at the same time feeling more confident. Bottom line I used to like riding, but now with the help of Ryno videos I really love to ride how F in awesome is that, I can’t even tell you how much better I feel. Thank you very much Mr Hughes, thanks for making my riding and life so much better. Will
I also wanted to add as I started riding pretty good I noticed little or not so little things with my bike that could be improved, I have never had my suspension done I’ve always just dealt with it but now it was time, I tell you what it was a big difference like night and day after that I started critiquing everything on my bike and my gear such as handlebars, lever positioning and so on, the only reason I’m saying this, once you solve the big issues you start finding everything else that hinders your riding it’s just funny how that works.
I think a lot of riders struggle with maintaining that open body positioning because the strength and conditioning that it takes to do so. So instead of isolating those body parts especially the core and lower back strength most riders are just tensing up. So in theory build up strength/ conditioning and the body positioning will become easier.
I just want to say a big thank you to you Ryan, at 54 and just getting back into motocross after 25 years and against my wife's wishes I actually feel very safe listening and watching your videos. Thanks again Mate, Simon Lakenheath Uk
As someone who's a complete newbie and has never ridden a dirt bike in their life but has done a lot of cross-country riding/eventing on horseback, this makes total sense. A lot of the ergonomics and handling seem to translate very well. Glad to have found your channel!
I spent a good while riding today in second gear, with just some good leather shoes and shorts. The whole time I kept it slow and stood on my toes and bent at the hips. I'm going to do this every day till my next race in between weights and geared up practice.
I'm an old guy like Ryan. While I ride I go in and out of "Hughes Mode" what he teaches can make you go faster, I use it to stay safe and responsive. Sitting is ok, if you're not in a race. I ride a lot of logging roads on my KDX, I often carry fly fishing equip and go at my own safe pace. If anything sketchy is ahead, or even a corner I go into Hughes Mode, perfectly balanced, hips unlocked, hands able to operate, looking ahead, everything he teaches.
I like watching your riding tips. I’ve been riding for 50ish years. I’ve learned to ride, for the most part, like you describe I should be riding. But, it’s not all on a conscience level. When your techniques become more on a conscious level, when I understand why I’m riding the way I am or the way I should be, I’m able to implement them more and ride even better. Also, shouldn’t your front brake line be routed between the fork and the wheel?
Another great lesson in body dynamics and how it works on a motorcycle. Ryno, I really do think you're like some kind of moto technique kinesthetics genius. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on how to go fast safer on a motorcycle!
Thanks Master. Im Crawling slowly back to the race track. Mind set first, and then technique with a lot of practice. Almost done with the mind, so I know it will be a huge difference when I see the green Flag again. Thank you very much!
Awesome video Ryan! Look I have a question in regards turning while riding on the street with a dirt bike. I tried ro search for videos like "how to turn in super moto" which i think would be something similar but I havent found anything helpful. Please help me bro
Im never critical of a Ryno vid but i feel in this case I have to say something. Who's been working on your bike ?? Please fix the routing of the front brake hose.
This advice about hips....its just so stupid. Same tip can be Said with use of THE Word A.S.S. Just because you are a Good rider, doesent mean you aint a idiot. And
Haha ! Good one, guess you don’t watch racing because you would see the event top rider riding the way I have taught the sport. But with a comment like this just shows the absolute ignorance some people can have and the inability to see what is in front of them because of the lack of talent they have on a motorcycle. I get it when you suck ass bad as you do, you have to try and make yourself feel better about it !!

After watching so many of your videos I realized what you say is true. We hear but we don’t listen. I just understood what you’re explaining. Gonna try tomorrow! 🦾👊 Thank you sir

If I still lived in SoCal, I'd absolutely be taking classes with Ryan to help me alleviate some bad posture and/or bad habits.

Great help Ryno, need to practice this. Thanks for meeting me at Big Valley Honda👍🏽
Great tips Ryno 🇺🇸 Thank you for sharing your knowledge 👍
Maybe my eyes are playing tricks on me, but is your front brake hose routed on the outside of the fork?
Riding correctly is similar to living correctly. Like when you're closed up you can't accept things coming up, the same as in life
Love the words✌️

One of my struggles as a 40 yr old trying to learn
I make mistakes when I can't sustain that technique ..end of session and sitting here and there is no good and dangerous
