So many nice fast cars becoming more affordable. Just repair bills being the main drawback. I have been looking at the aston martin V8 vantage which is in the same price range.
Having done a great deal of grand touring - bases in UK, Slovenia amd Spain. - enough performance, decent range, decent economy, quiet at speed, decent ride. BMW 640d?
Surprised Jaguars XKR not on here. A genuine GT, cheaper to maintain ( in the uk). 500bhp and better looking IMHO than several on this list. More comfortable than most too.
People talk about maintenance and repairs a lot with these cars, which is true. But you could run all 5 of these cars for 5 years for less than the depreciation you'd take on a new Tesla or a Taycan or something. These are close to bottoming out and in some cases (DB9) will actually go up in value in the next 5-10 years
Interesting video you asked if they need to be this fast and i think the answer is probably no. If you really mean tourer, you are going to be covering miles, possibly a lot of them; so comfort, fun and durability are probably far more important. anything getting to 60 in under 6 seconds is probably good enough. Lets say you are going to drive down through Europe to the Riviera or Southern Spain, you are going to put around 2000 or 3000 miles on the clock, if you get back ache after 2 hours or the car breaks down, that's a whole lot of unneccessary stress or even your trip ruined. So cars known to be fragile or temperamental are probably not a great idea. So i would probably take an Alpina or an M car over a Maserati or a Merc and if money were no object a recently serviced and fettled Ferrari. If its summer you will need a cabrio!
Some crazy cars for the money indeed 👀😳. They are all great cars to look at for sure. My best mate had the previous generation M6 and although it was fabulous to drive, it was sooo unreliable and you have to have deep deep deep pockets to own one, or a BMW mechanic with access to their software! For that alone, I wouldn't have one. Also, I recently bought my first Audi, an Audi A6 Estate... With 17" wheels... I do understand why people say these are back breaking because if the car was fitted with 18" or 19" I would have no back anymore 😳🥴. For such a premium car, and a family cruiser, I find the ride far too harsh... Yes, air suspension is meant to be great, but when they fail, and they will fail, you lose an arm in the process in terms of the cost to replace. I wouldn't go with the RS7 either for that matter. So, which one would I go for... I guess it would depend on where I'd drive to... If you drive in Italy, forget about anything big or wide. Currently doing this in the Audi, my oh my... Not only the Italians drive like fruit cakes 🤣 but their roads can be tiny. If you go to Germany, France, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland... The Aston, the Maserati or the Mercedes will do. I'd choose the Aston or the Maserati.
Perfect GT pace? Essentially equal to or very slightly faster than a Golf R - just quick enough to put hot hatch idiots (e.g. me) in their place in a drag race. I don't think there's an upper limit to GT straight line pace though, as long as it doesn't sacrifice the character - unlike hatches or sports cars where their maximum performance needs to be accessible. In cornering terms, if a GT can beat even a base Golf GTi down a B-road, it's probably not doing the GT thing well. I put my 11 car test drive shortlist together this morning for my next car - a GT slightly over this budget. Half of them are slower than most of this list, but not by much (2 of them aren't GTs either - 992 C2S and Emira). I reckon there's a 1/5 chance that I test drive them all in the next 18 months and in 2 years I'm driving either the Pug or a GS450h 🤣

I’d have the M6 out of this lot. But any of these you’d likely need a separate pot of money for repairs / maintenance
Just like any BMW.
Bmw is the worst
Some bmw haters lol I never understood why people hate a particular brand, then I grew up and realised it's envy
@@Jayboy1983 no hate just facts
The only Audi I like, the design of the RS7 gorgeous 😍
That Maserati 😍

Heart over head but I’d have the Aston followed by the Maserati….and sell a kidney for the repair bills.

Money pits
10 and 15 k best fast cars no astra plz jb
We all know that the Maserati is a poorly built automobile. It's only worth the money if you like throwing money away.
Waste of time buying these on the cheap. Repairs and spares through the roof.
I feel like all your videos are called the same
