Both are terrific cars but I'll always have a soft spot for KITT. Interesting design for the dash. I understand that because of the shape of the steering wheel, drivers had to have the seat almost all the way back so they could turn it properly. I love how KITT answers back, that is amazing.

That Trans Am model Is the car from the Second Bandit movie.
I did like how each movie featured the Firebird model from the same year. However the 77’ Firebird will always be my personal favorite as seen on Smokey and the Bandit 1

@@JD_JoyrideTV i hate to be that guy but I hope you realized that wasn't a 1970 charger it was a 1969 simple mistake though same body style from 1968 through 1970 though the 3 years had minor changes the 69 and 70 had same tail lights only thing different between the 2 were the grill while 68 had different grill different tail lights which were circles or as i call them dot tail lights and dot side markers on fenders and quarters they changed in 1971 though
Kitt had alot of technology That U see in New cars it was a way ahead of its time,accourse how can We forget Our Beloved outlaw the Bandit 2 Badass Classics.
Bandits in the late 70s and Knight Rider is the early 80s. Talk about a smart marketing angle for Pontiac.

It’s a 79 trans am instead of the 77 in the movie. My dad had a 79 and loved the car before he had to sell it. He had the same bandit color scheme too

I prefer the original Bandit car from the movie which was a 1977. I like the front end of the 1977 best. This one has the 79-80 front end.
A lot of people say the same thing. Not sure why the geniuses at Pontiac changed what was already a good look to the quad headlight style
The 77 -78 Trans am was the best. I knew a Guy that imported a 78 Trans am in black. In the mid 80s so cool as it was something ya never seen in Australia
interesting how some of the tech in kitt back in the day is going on today's vehicles (radar cruise navigation etc)

Bandit's car was named Trigger a tribute to Roy Rogers horse " Trigger " He also states that he sold Trigger from the first movie for a 6 pack. Check out Smokey & the Bandit 2 to see.
Bandit never actually mentioned Trigger in the first Smokey and the Bandit, but Sally Field does reference Roy Rogers in the line "-Are you ready Roy?"
In SATB2, Bandit calls the -80 Turbo T/A for "Son of Trigger".
I said it's all in the 2nd one. in the hotel right before they give him the 2nd trans am.
Both are beautiful cars but I much prefer KITT.
If you own K.I.T.T I garrantee you can get some honeys just like Michael Knight did.

It's actually Trigger 2 from Smokey & Bandit 2.

I love the look of both of these cars. Last year a friend of mine bought both of these from the Jada 1/32 scale line. They were for my birthday along with 2 others of the same scale.

Love both the cars but the 1st bandit was a 76 with a 77 front end and the 2nd was a 80 turbo trans am with the 301 4.9L. His looks to be a 79 which is the best looking year in my opinion. Maybe since my 1st car was a 79 firebird formula.
if pontiac was still around, i'd love to see a GTO or even a firebird electric with a modern knight rider lighting theme.

Correction that generation/version of the Trans Am was featured in “Smokey and the Bandit 2” making it not “the smokey and the bandit car” but the “Smokey and the bandit 2 car”.
Klas Peppar Another correction. The T/A in Bandit 2 was a turbo trans am. This car is not. Making it from none of the three movies.

I might have a dream about this, but what if this happened and the famous TV show Firebird was given this: a more modern Mustang V8 particularly like a Hellcat engine, exploding out of the hood, with four superchargers, or maybe even in F1 racer engine, huge exhaust pipes lower him to the ground, add strobe lights to the body, and a massive rear wing and then window guards. Kitt is made for racing. It's more than just secret agent stuff. He knows that he's basically ready for raising, but he prefers not to tell it.
I didn't know Kitt was a V-6. LOL

old video, but the first crappy smookey movie that come out was in 77, and they used a 77 trans am, the trans am you used in this video was something like a 79-81, but still very nice car.

the last of the trans am made was 1981 turbo trans am 4.9 in smokey n the bandit 2 a 79 model was never used in bandit
K.I.T.T. isn't complete. It has the 3rd season dash (most go for the Season 1 dash) But the center con buttons aren't there, the steering column buttons aren't there (but the mounts for them are installed), and the overhead buttons aren't there. Oh, and there's a light out in the light bar. At least it talks though.
I miss my bandit and my '89 TA Formula 350 TPI and my Firehawk
but the kitt interieur much things missing much buttons.lights and more come this later or is the car done ?

The '76 Was actually in the first Smokey and the Bandit movie. The second one had the '79 or 1980.

There were two 6.6 Liter V-8s that were equipped in the 1977-1979 Firebird Trans Am. There was a 400 cubic inch V-8 that was equipped by Pontiac, and there was a 403 cubic inch V-8 that was equipped by Oldsmobile. Is that a 400 or 403?

thats not a bandit trans am,it was a 77 thats a 79 or newer,the 80 they used in second was turbo car,so still nice car but not reaL or movie car,same with kitt car alot missing inside but still nice car to start a conversation with

@@GOBRADON502 only difference between 76 and 77 was the nose went from single to double headlights,thats all pontiac did was change core support and nose,easy switch,but in the books they was listed as 77 saw one of the actual cars sell

Well the scanner flows properly unlike some other "perfect" replicas. But the dashboard is a disaster.
