Thanks, yea the customizations and mods are what I really enjoy doing and it's a good way to up the aesthetic and handling of many budget swords. Be sure to check out my new D.I.Y series where I'll be showing how to do these mods and customizations!

My Shrewsbury was made in the mid 90's during it's first production run...although I didn't buy it may of 2017 at a Museum Replicas clearance sale. I paid $30 & at that price I have doubts anyone could get a better sword lol
It has some light character putting on one side of the blade & some discoloration marks on the pommel from having been in a warehouse for like 20 years but they look cool!
The nut for mine is countersunk into the pommel; which neither the original or new run had so I'm guessing it was either a prototype or modified in shop for some reason.
I've cut with it in many of my vids & spotlighted it a few;one was a disassembly vid...but in one day your vid has more views than any of mine 😂
So congratulations & I LOVE that new grip you made! I agree the original is a bit chunky.

Nice, it's surprising how some models have lasted so long.

@@DynamoSwordChannel yes. And many have come back for a time.
Although there is one I REALLY wish they'd make again & have asked for years for them to remake but they tell me no 😂
But one of these days I hope they will cave in.

01:25 through 01:29: "Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm..... I'll just stab it." Love it! Great form, by the way, I'm still a complete failure when it comes to how to start from a proper cutting stance. I tend to cut the same way over and over again, which gets boring for viewers.

Thanks, yea I used to too. I think it's because we all have a easy fluid cut that's most comfortable with us and when recording go to that frequently. Best way to avoid this in my experience is to kind of pre-plan or plot out your cutting to where you remember what stances and angles you want to present. I try to do at least 1 rotation of diagonals, horizontals, thrusts and upwards to give a little more variety. If you're uncomfortable in certain stances or cutting at certain angles just practice them out more regularly or do a pre video warm up so you're more comfortable when you do film.

never saw this model from windlass....thx for showing! btw: windlass or hanwei!? which make better replica swords? to me its windlass ...thx

Kinda depends on what you're looking at. Hanwei does it right by giving their blades proper distal taper and better general blade geometry. Where Windlass does it right by being much more consistent in fit and finish and a little more focus on being historically accurate.
Both make amazing swords at the sub $500-$300 price points but I'd give it to Windlass for an overall more genuine medieval replica.

Also, isn't it discontinued, again? It's not on MRL's website anymore.

It might be but they have a habit of stealing them back in plus there's other vendors and even Ebay to checkout for them.
