    I know this might be blasphemy but Danaher says that traditional guard passing is different because once you get past the hips and try to do the "cranial shift" the opponent can frame and stop the pass but in half guard he blew right past the fact that once you get past the knee they can knee shield and or frame with their arms. Also was does he start with the knee up and then drop his knee back between Bernardos knees allowing him to trap it only to have to add a step to free the knee again and get to 3/4 mount?

    I would think that this would not be your first choice when passing half guard as it requires you to give up the under hook, right? I don't think I would want to try this pass unless I messed up and allowed my opponent to get the underhook

    • @domd9837
      @domd9837 3 года назад

      i think it still works with the underhook. you would have to give up the underhook to apply the scapular crossface, but at that point you're in a really good position to finish the pass
