I saved a tongue from an old cow we butchered today. I’ve never had tongue before but I knew I had to boil the tongue for 3 hours to cook it and had allot going on so I boiled it before I watched this and seen all the other veggies you boil it with. Had my man grab everything from the store for the sauce, had to use dry parsley because the store didn’t have fresh, and used dry crushed red peppers and the sauce in this recipe turned out delicious!!! This was a great first experience for my family trying tongue. Thank you for sharing this video

Wonderful...no sarcasm Lots of parsley, plenty of garlic yes indeed! that tongue is huge! Mexican & Italian expressions alike opened this up to me I would like to try the way Zita Rasid spoke of with raisins & cinnamon. That sounds good to me since I already do pork chops/roasts & chicken this way. a thought I would share is to add apple butter & some sort of fortified wine as it would have even more flavor than just applesauce & I know sauerkraut would be good together to finish in Schlemmertopf! (maybe some citrus slices too) But no matter what expression tongue is most definitely tasty good eats for sure!!! Funny so many don't speak of it but it is eaten all over! Should I say stick out your tongue & say AHHHH!? Hat's off to the chef!

In a meat market I eventually was given one. My friend runs a deer station so he gave me all the venison tongues. Absolutely fantastic. just how I remembered them. I gave some to my friend who farms pigs and cows yet had never tried tongue. He loved it. But as many people that have tongue recipes on RUclips state: It's a hard sell. No problem, more for me!

His channel is called Orsara, I am assuming it's named after the town he is from in that region called Orsara di Puglia - a city and comune in the province of Foggia, Apulia, southern Italy. It's just a big muscle...right? It didn't look well cooked to me. (?) Was it chewy? Please describe what it tastes like and its texture for us. I will try it in my Instant pot, maybe pressure cook it for 1 hr. along with all those aromatics. Then take it out and shred it for tacos.
Tongue really went up in price from years gone by when you bought a beef tongue for maybe a buck now I dont even see it in supermarkets. Havent been to just a meat market for awhile but last time I did buy a tongue a few years ago was over 10 bucks and i think that a half was aroung 8...maybe wrong but i know it isnt cheap..Used to pickle it..very tasty if cooked right
