Blake Gildaphish, you are right. Perhaps that is just the point he is trying so persistently to bring home. Appearances are too often deceptive and various violent and diabolical plots continue to be hatched in the minds of the immaculately dressed and culturally sophisticated.
Do you think she was underrated? She was nominated for an Academy Award, Tonys, won an Emmy. Her career stretched from early 30s to the late 80s. She did everything--stage, film and tv. Superb comedian and wonderful dramatic roles. I think that would make her successful and recognized by her peers and all her many many fans over all the years, she elevated every vehicle she appeared in.. The Quiet Man was my personal favorite, Hitchcock's The Trouble with Harry and of course her outstanding performance in Barefoot in the Park. Isn't it wonderful to come across a little gem like this?
When I was a little kid, mom bought us a carton of ice cream. I started eating it and chewed something hard. I told mom, "I thought you said this ice cream didn't have nuts in it." I guess she found some glass in it. And called the doctor. He said to just feed me some bread. Mom went to the store and told them about it. Seems the glass on the case where the ice cream was kept at the store had broken, and glass got into the ice cream. I don't know how that would have happened unless they had scooped it out of a container into a carton for her. This was in the early 1960s. I didn't have any pain or problem from it.
Today we worry about idiot teens opening an ice cream container and licking the ice cream and putting it back so they can go viral. We’ve ended up in the stupidest timeline
I always like Hurd Hatfield's performances, funny enough he was in another Hitchcock episode where, yet again, he was plotting murder on a rich aunt. The episode, None are so blind.
One of my favorite episodes is Jonathan. A young man poisons a bottle of wine to kill his alcoholic stepmother. She gives the wine to his father named Jonathan who dies instead of her.
Actually ground glass was a common murder method in old fictional crime stories, but in reality ground glass won't kill someone. If the glass is too big they'd notice it, so to grind it fine enough as to not notice it, it probably wouldn't even hurt you. Maybe cause a minor upset, but certainly not death. It's possible it was used in these stories so as not to give people ideas about real methods such as cyanide.

This is silly. As if the older lady wouldn't taste the texture of ground glass in a souffle... which is lovely for a smooth texture. Even very very finely ground, the glass would be almost immediately detectable. Oh well, interesting story.
Pure Evil. Can't trust anyone not even your own family you have to be careful for nothing. I hope people who do evil or think evil go straight to hell and burn forever
will the glass powder even though is very finely ground come under teeth to taste feel like grit ??and what he collected in the vial was NOT so fine !how could Hitchcock make mistake in direction ??
hitchcock is ok but i noticed half of his shows are copied from the ( suspense) show which was earlier than his show. suspense is a better show if only it was syndicated it would been great.
Love these old black and white series. The acting is gripping.
Doctors are very competent these days, it’s most annoying Bahahahaha
I’ve seen this before but forgot how the story began
It always amazes me how Hitchcock characters can be so civilized and blasé while plotting a cruel and gruesome murder.
Did you say civilized why that's the cocastion way don't you know
These are the people who never used the F word.

@@birdiechidambaran5132 So well said/expressed!
@@wiilliamroberts5761 what does cocastion mean..
Proper ending for a gruesome person.
Love it when it backfires. Also, who in their right mind plans a murder in a busy restaurant?! Here's your sign.
Great performance from Mildred Natwick as the Aunt. She was in bare foot in the park and Daisy Miller. Phenomenal underrated actress.
And beautiful🌷
Snoop Sisters...Natwick and Helen Hayes!

Every performance she was in gave me a lot of joy. Jean Stapleton was another favourite of mine.
I like Ms.Natwicks performances, she is in another hitch flick where she got locked in a strange man's hotel room,it was hilarious!
Hitchcock always play with our minds
Undoubtedly he is a master in that, ancient Modern

"glad/happy" 4 "U" being "O.K".

This 💘 is 4 "U" 🤗

I saw this before but it was such fun to watch these scheming nephews
All the accents are extremely cultivated.
I always watch Alfred Hitchcock shows! They are always with a twist of enjoyable SUsPenSe!🤓😲
yes hitchcock the best next one tales of the unexpected and columbo never sick of it watch it every day life is beautiful
Julia Hamilton, Don't you agree that the climax and ending are not only humourous but reminds one of the O.Henry twist?
When Paul felt those pieces of glass rip through his intestines... I wonder how it felt experiencing that...?
I’m glad it happened to him! Lol…I got a bit involved….
These two are the sinister version of Frazier and Niles Crane!! 🤣😱
Chunkiest glass souffle ever!!!!
FYI Just looked this up: the men are wearing the black armbands on their left arm only to signify they are ‘in mourning’.
One of my favorite episodes is Jonathan. A young man poisons a bottle of wine to kill his alcoholic stepmother. She gives the wine to his father named Jonathan who dies instead of her.
It seems like every other Hitchcock episode poison is the subject matter.
What a horrible thing to do to somebody…..horrible!!! But glad it backfired
👍👌👏 Thanks a lot for uploading and sharing.
Best regards luck and health.
Theses conmen are so well dressed and look like real gentlemen
But sadly I'm sure forensic files would find out

That was finely ground?
"Finely ground like pepper" was pestled just to the consistency of rock salt.
I was thinking that too 🤣🤣
Ikr😉😉😉
@@JudgeJulieLit I thought that it was so coars, that one can taste the glass. and impossible to swallow.
@@TheXmeimei That is a logical demurrer.
A taste of your own medicine!
He was a genious
He did a great job in dorin grey too
That didn't look "finely ground."
Hurd Hatfield played Dorian Grey...
Good shows
Brilliant thank you😘

She was in an early Hitchcock film 'What's the Matter With Harry'
"The Trouble with Harry." Yes. You're right. She was in that movie. Made about the time this. was made.
Interesting/entertaining. Started viewing 👀 these episodes 3 evenings ago.🤗
2:10 Alfred is finally sick of Batman's shit.
?
Ohhhh 😊 {KARMA}…Well you know the rest of that phrase 😂
Now this time you had of better Beginning and of real ending
I adore Hurt Hatfield from The Picture of Dorian Gray. Another spectacular performance here.
Is that Dorian grey 😄
Yes! Doing an evil turn in this💚
Aunt Rosalie looks like Dudley Moore in drag. lol
😂😂😂😂
Mildred Natwick, great old timey actress.
Another good Hitchcock movie 2
Good show
That's a good 1
Wasn't one of the guys in the portray of Dorian grey
Great ending.
Where is the rest?? And the rest of the others?
Hurd Hatfield played Dorian Gray and was also in aTwilight Zone episode where he had his vocal chords removed to win a bet.
Yes, he was in Dorian Grey, but the actor in the Twilight Zone episode you speak of was Liam Sullivan. They do have a passing resemblance.
At least Enrie has a bit of a conscience 😊
JUST WATCHED ALFRED HITCHCOCK 'S "THE PERFECT MURDER " THE OLD BOY GRINDING THE GLASS LOOKS LIKE DR.PHIL .😨😨😨 JUST A LITTLE JOKE FOLKS .
He does look like Dr.Phil LOL

That poor bird - in a cage so small and no water. I bet there was little in the way of animal welfare then.
I've never wanted to have a bird in a cage. They had some animal welfare back then. Not for birds in cages though.
