    Thanks for putting the formula out there. Also I may try to replicate this setup later.

    Nice! I'm running 70mm stimulus on a Arbor pilsner cruiser deck with grasp trucks, it's my favorite setup, but I almost bought caguamas for a longboard surfskate build, settled on In heats instead

      I was just looking at the Pilsner’s a couple days ago. Those look really cool

    My main board is a Carver Resin. I’ve got the blue 85a Riptide bushings (and pivot cups) on the CX, along with upgraded bearings on the stock Roundhouse concave wheels, although I also have a set of 65mm x 85a wheels for more speed in the ditches. Additionally, I put a set of pink 85a RT bushings (and pivot cups) on a Santacruz Salba equipped with C5s, riser pads the units came with, Bones Reds on OJ Plain Jane 58mm x 87a wheels for the occasional park session. I’m happy with both set ups and both turn ridiculously tight. I can carve infinity loops using only one side of my two car garage with both boards.. Never tried Yow Merakis or any other SSK8 trucks before because these trucks are phenomenal with the Riptide product upgrades in my opinion.

      Yeah carver CX trucks are phenomenal. I love mine and I really need to just get a second set so I can play with bushings. My only CX trucks ride exactly how I want them to at skateparks and I don’t want to switch bushings around cuz I’m afraid I’ll throw them off.
      What wheelbase do you have on your Salba? I love Santa Cruz concave, graphics, and shapes. But their wheelbases are seemingly impossible to find in anything bigger than 15.25

      @@TheSurfskateboarder L A T E response here, but just popping back in this channel after ordering some more blue 85a bushings & pivot cups from Steve just now. That Salba SantaCruz I referenced in my original comment has a standard 14.25 WB, which is barely acceptable for the board considering it has a set of C5's on it. I've tried the yellow and the pink bushings, but really like the blue 85a bushings I have on my CX trucks, so I'm working to dial in the SC board just right, which, because of the short, standard WB, I think it performs better with a smaller 58mm -60mm wheel. The problem with a WB that short is that it can whip out from under neath you on flats or banks; that's why I think really soft bushings are the key for me personally, as I'm a light weight, smaller dude anyway. I'm also in Tucson and it's so hot, I hit a ditch in my neigborhood and the ramp complex at St.Johns church mostly for a very limited time in the mornings. When the weather gets cooler I'll venture out more to Santa Rita, Purple Heart & Continental. I"m 61 & retired (bought my first board in San Diego in 74') so luckily I can go to the parks when most kids are in school in cooler months.

    Nice vid man!. Have you experimented with different bushings and pivot cups on your CX?

    • @TheSurfskateboarder
      @TheSurfskateboarder 6 месяцев назад

      Some! I want to do more experimenting. I only ride riptides bushings and pivot cups.
      My carver cx is my park board and I’ve got yellow 90a bushings.
      The c5 is my smaller cruiser and it has the Persian blue 92.5a.
      Right now I’m 100% satisfied with these setups. But down the road I went to experiment with more dormers and experiment with mix and matching durometers and I’ll talk about that in the future. Right now my knowledge is limited because I haven’t experimented enough.
      Thanks friend! Cheers 🙌🏼

    Nice build! Huge wheels on tiny boards looks awesome! I've been wanting to build a super narrow truck Polarizer type Surfskate setup with a Meraki and 90mm wheels but using a wide 10.5" surfskate deck. Ill just narrow mod the Meraki hanger, using an angle grinder and then shorten the axle on each side and retap the axle threads. Same with the rear truck, or just buy some cheap 4" wide rear trucks. Its possible a 4" wide standard truck hanger might just fit on a Meraki instead of modding the Meraki hanger though. Might go that route. This would be a super fun cruising setup I think and have a different look.

    • @TheSurfskateboarder

      Holy cow! That would be crazy! I’d love to know how a 4 inch hanger on a Meraki truck works out. It sounds like it would be kind of tippy just because the Meraki sits tall. But that’s a setup I’d love to try out. So wild and fun. But the 90 mm wheels. They’d almost be touching. I’ve ridden a polarizer and standard skateboard wheels are very close together.
      This mod idea is cool though. I’m loving huge wheels on small boards

      @@TheSurfskateboarder I just used 4" as a guesstimate cause that's what the Polarizer is I think? I just took some actual measurements and the Meraki hanger width can be narrowed 2.25" with 90mms without any rubbing so the final outside wheel to outside wheel width would be reduced from my current 9.25" outside width to 7" and inside to inside of the wheels would be 3". That's still pretty narrow and I'm eager to try it!

    • @nateross14
      @nateross14 6 месяцев назад +1

      @@TheSurfskateboarder Just did final calculations/measurements and yes a 4" hanger will work no problem on a Meraki with 90mm! Thats using my Cal7 90mm wheels which are exactly 2" wide wheels with center offset. It would also be cool to try a 4" hanger Meraki on front with regular width truck on the rear which would be more stable, but I just love the look of the old school super narrow width trucks. Lots of fun combos to try!

      @nateross14 6 месяцев назад

      @@TheSurfskateboarder I did a test swap of a basic standard kingpin truck on the Meraki and it fits fine, so I'm pretty sure 4" SKP hangers will fit fine and be a direct swap on the Meraki. Seeing as I don't have one on hand right now I'm just going to cut down the one I have and I'll upload a vid to my channel once I get it built.

    I think they're setup up on custom branded OJ Super Juice 78a according to Santa Cruz. Those wheels aren't so bad but definitely not as firm or pushy as orange caguamas!

    • @TheSurfskateboarder
      @TheSurfskateboarder 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah they are the 60mm 78a super juice wheels.
      I just found them to perform poorly in my opinion. Soft. Narrow contact patch. Slow for pumping. I personally would have preferred carver’s roundhouse wheels over the OJs.
