    He was canonized in 2022.
    I know about him as we celebrated his canonization here in Morocco at the time.

    Saint John Bosco had quite a bit to say about Islam as well! All bad though. As my homilist lovingly stated during one of his sermons "there are many people in hell with college degrees."

    Just a quick note to encourage folks to watch the video. The argument is not that Charles de Foucauld was a pluralist (he wasn’t!) but that his encounter with Islam was a sort of catalyst for his re-discovery of his Catholic faith. Charles had an intense love for the Church, the poor, and the Eucharist.
