The Wisdom Project at Notre Dame, affiliated with the History of Philosophy Forum, explores the various dimensions of Wisdom, both in and beyond religious traditions. We consider the relationship of wisdom to beauty, human flourishing, and truth.
In its first stage the Wisdom Project presents a series of short “lightning” talks for a diverse group of experts speaking to the importance of wisdom to their own academic field. These videos are meant to be accessible, dynamic, and informative. We hope you enjoy them and please spread the word!

How dare you to discredit this great martyr. He hated Islam and converted all islamic slaves to Christ in Morocco. Isam is a DEVIL WORSHIP.
Just a quick note to encourage folks to watch the video. The argument is not that Charles de Foucauld was a pluralist (he wasn’t!) but that his encounter with Islam was a sort of catalyst for his re-discovery of his Catholic faith. Charles had an intense love for the Church, the poor, and the Eucharist.

He was canonized in 2022. I know about him as we celebrated his canonization here in Morocco at the time.

Saint John Bosco had quite a bit to say about Islam as well! All bad though. As my homilist lovingly stated during one of his sermons "there are many people in hell with college degrees."
