    I'm old enough to remember those machines in their day and the people that farmed then I think it was a lot better time strong families that helped each other I miss that just a lot simpler time.

      I could go back to those days in a heartbeat. Little more hard physical work but hard work never killed anyone. Family, faith and respect.

    I've got an 80. This spring will be the first time using it for spelt. Ours doesn't have the fingers, just paddles, but it should work ok. Wished it had a scour clean, but I'm sure we will manage. Thanks for the video!

    My uncle had an AC Big Bin 66 with a corn head on it and he had the AC hitch to pull a wagon beside the combine, Didnt take long to fill a 25 bu grain tank ! LOL He shelled 100 acre of corn that way one year. Never seen one sense then but the IH 80 with the hitch with wagon come mighty close ! Love the old iron like this. Your wife is doing a mighty fine job in my book ! Bandit

    Hi Blast from the Past, thank you for these nice videos reflecting farm machinery/implements I grew up with (still have some...). Congratulations on your wedding anniversary - I envy you, my first date/love/wife passed away to CA after 30 years together, mostly supporting me.
    Your invention of the custom side grain wagon is a brilliant "make-do" creation of farmers. May God bless you both, Ciao, L (Morning Side and Star Shine Farms, Inc, ME)

    Your wife is doing a mighty fine job here, watch out she could end up driving one of those big combines or Headers, as we call them in Australia.

      She did great for being her first time. Had her drive my 1979 IH 1440 for a little while so I could video. Glad you liked it.

    Over thrashing, open the cylinder a couple of turns, the pods should still be on the plant when it spits out the back of the combine.

    Really enjoyed watching this!! Only two differences from my Dad's equipment? Is that our combine was a couple years older and we didn't have the side trailer hitch attachment. Thanks!!!

    A lot less complicated than today. Fix anything with a piece of baling wire, duct tape and a few links for a chain.

    it would look more vintage if the 560 was a narrow front

    • @Blastfromthepastfarming652
      @Blastfromthepastfarming652 3 года назад +1

      They came with either narrow front or wide front

      @@Blastfromthepastfarming652 I know but a narrow front tractor is an iconic style of tractor that's essentially saying I'm an old tractor.
