I know, huh. Now it's up to 94 idiots. This is one of the best I've heard right up there with Marvin's original, The Pointer Sisters, Roberta Flack, Michael McDonald, Robert Palmer, Hall and Oats, Jessie Colin Young, John Legend and Usher.
She has such an amazing voice and she reminds me of Anita Baker.... My favorite song of her's is GO OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. MILIRA was such an underrated talent ‼️
I still am. So obsessed I paid $50 for her cd a month ago 😊 Been wearing out my car speakers every since. My 5 year old knows the words already to this and Go Outside In The Rain
Heck yeah---I remember WJZZ played the heck out of this when it first came out---Jones was only a teenager when she put this cover of the classic Marvin Gaye song out. Never understood why she didn't blow up more, especially after such an impressive modest hit jazz tune. Found out she only put one other album out in 1993, and that was it---too bad, because she could really sing.
77 yrs old and still here,2025 love, this young lady, wish she;and Samara Joy would please us,fans with,a Duet Or collaboration, they’re both brilliant, jazz singers.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎼🎤🎧
Wow, lord have mercy, “All Hail To Queen Milira”, I’m 50+, you have been in my “archives” for many years, when I see your outstanding video, when I see you, the lyrics, the historical photos of some amazingly talented people, the amazing instruments, Queen, I’m moved, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and indeed physically, the instruments make the hair on the back of my neck stand-up, you indeed did your thing with this one, I wholeheartedly admire you, from a Black Queen to another Black Queen, every word within “Mercy, mercy me” that you sang here we are many years enduring the exact, we’re still suffering, we’ve continued to reap the mediocrity, as Beautiful Black Women it’s still the continuance of not being respected, Queen, I pray The Almighty God has continued to cover you and your family with His grace, His mercy and blessings. Flowers to you 🎼⭐️🌹🌷🙏🌺
I remember her..... i was just to young to TRULY appreciate her instrument. You can hear so many of "THE GREATS" in her! Anita Baker stands out the most. I'm willing to bet Anita is one of her favorites. I know she is one of my Favorites. This was a Bad chick...
Milira's version is a very great rendition of Marvins song and it doesn't take away from the meaning of the album I grew up in the Marvin Gaye era back when he sang Stubborn Kind of Fella and I bet if he heard this version he would be grinning from ear to ear.
tlover1062, I agree with you 100%, Marvin is very pleased with her version of his song. I dont think anyone could have done it better than her. Man! What a talent!!!!!!
I hope you've heard of October London & his The Rebirth of Marvin album. If not, PLEASE check it out. Every song is 🔥 & it's crazy how much he sounds like Marvin.
DANG! Anita Baker, Sarah Vaughan, Teena Maria all mixed up in one. DAMN! Where she AT! How come folks like her just disappear and leave us at the mercy of this mediocrity crowding the airwaves today... sigh. :(
Love love love. I can't even talk in complete sentences. One of best remakes. Her voice is amazing, the scatting, the UNIQUENESS, the baby Anita Baker vibe, the shear enjoyment that she conveys, her beauty and them damn jeans.....😍😍😍
All of it and the transition from string 🎻to horn 🎷 is nothing short of amazing and let's not forget the drummer. Whew Jesus! They smoked this production 🔥
Me either and I love him. She was working with man before I realized who he truly was and still is. Got his jazz cd Love Songs and not a song on there I don't love
I got introduce to this lady while attending York College in NYC. I instantly fell in love with her voice. Today I'm still searching to replace the Solution album. If anyone knows where I can purchase a copy of the solution album as the cassette is not the idea thing anymore. My cousin who was visiting at the time would run the poor cassette over and over. She even used it as a warm up for her vocals before singing. I wish she had gotten the exposure she truly deserved. Truly a talented respectable lady. Big fan!
My cd 💿 just arrived today. I ordered it from Amazon and it's very expensive. I pay for good music I know are masterpieces. You can't by collectibles everywhere
Still here in 2019. Takn this one on my highway drive to work baby and dare someone to look at me crazy trying to be Milira while driving 😜😜😌😂 Mindn my business on the way to work 🤗 Happy Sunday all 😘

Milira added her own Sweet Ingredient to this Classic like She Owed it, What a Great cover.🎶 Makes me want to explore Jazzy Vocalist🎶 Grrrreat My Sista'!!👍
I just realized that Milira Jones' second stanza of skat in this song (1990) and Mary J. Blige's skat in "All Night Long" (1994) start off the same way. Mary must've been a fan of this track. 😁
+Denise Batts! I still have the cassette as well...!!! I remember seeing her perform this & Go Outside In The Rain at the Apollo!!! She sent chills up & down my spine!!! Such an under-rated artist, because she could SANG!!!
I'd also like to give props to who ever put this on RUclips I had been looking for it for what seems like years! Did not remember how to spell her name thanx so much!!!!
This song will ALWAYS give me chills. The thousands of memories. Still play this at weddings and clubs and it still gets them off their seats in 2014. Fatima Rainey's - Hey does so as well.

This is what I call REAL MUSIC!!!!
Let the church say Amen on that cuz cuz this world is going through a change right now but not for the better 😢
This is one of the best covers out there, she took Marvin’s song and made it her own while not leaving Marvin distinctive touch out. Love it!
Love her ... she is in the same vein / class as Ms. Phyllis Hyman another great and underrated vocalist of her time .
I love this version, she is so talented.
She has such an amazing voice and she reminds me of Anita Baker.... My favorite song of her's is GO OUTSIDE IN THE RAIN. MILIRA was such an underrated talent ‼️
I was obsessed with her voice when she first came out. She can SANG!

Do you mean she is the real writen mercy mercy me ???
She did a good job, but Marvin is untouchable.
Agree wholeheartedly
She did a fabulous job,Marvin would be proud of her version;
Sing it Milira. Love the jazz part. Love how you put that spin on it!
Damn... The violin player got funky on this... Never heard a violin with so much soul and funk in it before
Seems as if all the great singers fade away from the music industry. She was a favorite of mine. She never got the Recognition she deserved.
One of the best remakes I ever heard

...Anita Baker style...
Both her Anita Baker studied Sara Vaughn who were their inspiration. Probably why their sounds are familiar
This remake brings back so many memories. Got s little emotional hearing this remake. I miss the 90's music era. I absolutely love Milira's vocals.
Man her voice is so captivating I wish her and Anita Baker collaborated back than she made beautiful 🎶
Let’s see... the best part of this song is from 0:01 - 4:13! That scatting though... GOOSEBUMPS!
Go listen to her song That Four Letter Word
Love Milira! Could not have been done better! Marvin would smile!

What a voice! So underrated, along with Tamia, Chante Moore, Angie Stone, Lalah Hathaway, Rachelle Ferrell and list goes on...
This Song Is 25 Years Old And Still Sounds Great. 1/5/14.
Here on 2020 appreciating her artistry and the vocal refinement she puts in everything. Especially on this remake.
