  • DoorDash has changed a major requirement for Dashers across the country. The minimum completion rate will now be 90%, up from 80% in many large U.S. cities.

    They are resetting it so Dasher's have lost the loophole of accepting to keep AR up and the cancel. Can not do that any more. Everything they do is about getting those crappy low base pay/ no tip/ high miles order. That is all they care about.

    Whenever I take an order and I know it's going to be a wait, I actually just stick it out and text the customer and let them know I'm waiting and no I never expect anything extra but with me sticking with their order and keeping them updated I've actually gotten an extra tip a couple times which is so awesome and I'm very thankful for that. Obviously this doesnt happen all the time or a lot but it has happened and like you said I'd rather stick it out if the order is paying double digits than risk it to see if i get another order, plus it gives my car a little bit of a break lol

    If its a bad order just wait the timer & unasign penalty free. Yeah you wont make anything for your time but id rather do that than pay to deliver somebodys order.

    I use the unassigned like 3 times, because I have another order in my car just sitting there. No wonder we get bad reviews. The customer sees that order is picked up and we are not moving for 8 minutes

      Yeah it’s a shame when the second restaurant doesn’t have the order ready. Then we have to decide if the first customer gets punished for it

      Yeah DoorDash freezes that so that you need 2x the amount to fix it

      I’m here because of this! I’m so pissed I’m at 94% won’t go up and they took me down from platinum to sliver. Wish I still had my grubhub I was making twice as much but my ex ruined my account.

    I got deactivated yesterday because I never got the email.
    All my ratings are really good and I got deactivated for 86% completion.
    I was NEVER sent an email. I scrolled back 5 x to make sure.
    How is this legal?? Ugh.

    Im currently in the LOP in Phoenix and I reached out to verify if after the reset they were still counting the last 100 orders because i too did not want to risk being under 95. They said they still count the last 100. It wasn’t a complete reset. So you’re good brother don’t worry

      Btw Gilbert is a gold mine for Catering orders, I had no idea. I live in Chandler and use to drive all the way up to Kirkland without needing to lol

    I was deactivated today it snowed 4 inches here and some places ended up not having orders, so I canceled some and went down to 82%. I sent them an appeal but I checked my email and never got that update. I understand it but at the same time I never was aware and was an honest mistake

      I'm sorry you were deactivated. That's always a terrible feeling and I hope you win the appeal. Remember, when a store doesn't have an order, you have message or call DoorDash support so they can cancel the order for you so it doesn't hurt your completion rating

    First, use a timer, if the wait hits 8 minutes you can go to unassign and it will tell you then its penalty free. DD decided on some orders they don't want to exactly advertise the option, but it's there once you start the unassign process. Next, this 8 minute or 90% stuff is an incredibly hostile move on DD's part and why I rarely dash anymore. If you wait 8 minutes twice an hour, you've lost more than 25% of potential earning time. Gee you don't fu*k my completion rate...how thoughtful DoorDash. If they want to require you to wait for a full 8 minutes then they need to comp that time with something around a 3 or 4 dollar inconvenience fee. Expecting Dashers to forfeit all that time is theft. I wouldn't tolerate from an employer, I damn sure am not going to tolerate it out of a predator like DD.

      Funny, I waited at Lou Malnatta's on Scottsdale road for 20 min, and it did not give me the option to unassign without penalty. Anyways, I did it myself, and I will never pick up from there again.

      I agree with what you said and it really depends on your market. I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes ( I use the timer on my phone) but once 8 minutes passes I call support and always get $4 ) I know it's a pain in the ass to call but I do it because if UE or DD have to pay extra then the vendor will get shit for it and learn for next time.

      @azumpire Okay, wild. So how often that feature is available must vary by market. Are long wait times pretty common in a large number of restaurants in your market? Or is your market super saturated with lots of drivers? Would be interesting to know how the algorithm is deciding when you get it and when you don't.

      @@chadnovak7217 I only do this with UE never done it with DD . To be honest I never had to wait ever for DD because it has always been ready ( I use UE a lot more than DD)

    I was deactivated because of a 76% completion rate just last week and yesterday I received the update that’s completion rate has been reset to 100% while being deactivated. I did appeal the deactivation 7 days ago but no response yet.

      If your appeal goes through just make sure to always keep your completion rate higher than 90%

    It's a great change that will improve the service for drivers and customers. Drivers with low completion rates are the problem.

      If you accept an order you should follow through with it unless its a very long wait which happens but it is rare.@@PhoenixDeliveries

      Absolutely not. You know how many times I got a double and the second stop says it’s gonna be another 15 mins? Then I have to sit there and wait all that time while the first order becomes poor quality which then gives me a bad rating. I have to unassign orders due to excessive wait often. It’s better customer service to unassign and let another dasher get that order where they would arrive to the restaurant closer to the time that order is complete and the first customer gets good quality food.
