Is the fan UL listed? Also is the ground screw on the bracket necessary if the box is grounded and the fan ground is attached to the EGC? Isn't that redundant at that point just wondering as I was under the impression it was unnecessary in this case and if not I better start wrapping them up too.
Not UL listed.
I think as long as the bracket was tight against the fan box, the EGC should cover it; I'm used to seeing those grd screws :)
@@abrelectric It definitely won't hurt to hook it up and with the medallion and unknown fan probably the right call. i work by myself for a while now so I like watching these vids to see what others are doing so thanks!
The weight of this fan, not sure why it would need to be a fan rated box

@divemanred the current Code requires a ceiling outlet that "may" be used for a fan in the future, the outlet has to be fan rated
