O man that strikes memories. I've traded my Tesla reel to reel tape player for two 1958 Jawas 500 OHC (one for parts) . Used it every day commuting to work and i was quite hard to keep it running.Especially the bloody points. Week of riding meant weekend in the garage .But well worth the work ,as it sounded so different in world of two strokes .Wish I'd have it now :-) .Cheers
Thanks again - I have 5 Jawa 350 two stroke twins - three at present roadworthy, one of them (a 1992 640) mildly tuned that will hit a genuine 100mph. Amongst my other bikes I have several two stroke single and twin CZ's - I would trade all of them to own an example like this - very rare (certainly here in in the UK).I'll bet it's a real blast to ride! A great example of post war motorcycle engineering - especially considering the constraints that the factory must have laboured under then....
Jawa Moped are awasome still. Im not seen one not realible... To my experiance almost all of them work fine....
true
Excellent piece of information
Guys, please.
You have to be polish, czech or slovak to call it Jawa.
In english it's Yava.
Remember that.
Kindly please treasure it
We had local licenced copy made in India,,,as Jawa, later named as Yezdi.
Im proud of it :3
This is definitely not the only 2 stroke they build...look at the 350 SV or the wide range of Jawa racing bikes, road or speedway. But, this is the most distinct exception and the biggest cylindric capacity, that's true.
Presently available in India,
It is not unusual, Yamaha bought this design from Jawa and used it for mass production as well as oil-master system and automatic centrifugal clutch.
2-stroke Jawa's rule!!
Great history !!!
jawa also made 350 side valve engines.. before this 500 twin..
this is the first ever made Jawa
4stroke 500ccm single OHV made in 1931
then there was a Jawa 350 SV made in 1934-1936
and after it Jawa 350OHV 1936-1946
so there are 4 models of 4 stroke vintage motorcycles Jawa ever made
hi, jawa also built a 350 4 stroke, i think in the 30's..
i like ths video so much m also having JAWA ij353 250cc bike 1971 model having 2 bikes

road beauty
Yeah it's a rare one. Plenty of two-strokes around here in Russia though...
Can u sell the bike and wat is the price sir
the narrator at the end sounds like Lance Henrikson,.
I suppose Americans pronounce Jawa like Yava so that not to mix this famous brand up with the jawas from "Star Wars" - you know these are small dwarfs always wearing their shapeless garment with a hood, inside which you can't see the face - only fluorescent eyes in the dark.
Cd 150cc .
ducati did
+Michael Mifsud .. Not a twin parallel cylinder bevel gear OHC... just singles and V-twins...

Marek Marek
