    17:56 - We can do this with euler concept- 6 is the Euler number of 18. As the question doest define the numbers, We can take half the Euler number , So we get 3.

    Sir in the last question how can we say that all the pairs should contain only Prime numbers because to be coprime the condition is different I mean they should not have common factor rather than being prime

    Hello sir , in question where hcf is 18 and sum 384 of 2 numbers .When we apply logic of difference of such numbers=18x ,i.e multiples of 18 and sum of such numbers is 384 , we get 18 possible solutions . why this logic doesnt work here ?

    I guess orderedness or unorderedness doesn't matter since b has to be greater than a right? I mean for 18 (1,17), (5,13), (7,11) are the pairs possible. But in the case of (17,1), (13,5), (11,7); b becomes smaller than a.

    why we considered only co prime number during calculation of hcf and lcf? please answer.

      Bcos you are finding highest common factor. If the number isn't co-prime there is something in common btw them and you can multiply that common factor to your presumed hcf to get actual hcf.

    Sir in question 1 ,you have mentioned 1 and 17 as possible number to get sum as 18 but 1 is not a prime number. .

      co prime means that both the numbers should not have any common factor other than 1, or in other words, their hcf should be 1. It doesnt mean that the number should be a prime number. for example 4 and 5 are co prime to each other, or 9 and 25 are co prime to each other. Hope this helps!

      By definition Euler number of a number N is no. of numbers before N that are co- prime to N.

      31 is prime,..so for any prime number...it's Euler is = (no. - 1).
      Then E31 = 30

      In prime terms 10 = 5 × 2 ....
      So any number before 10 .. which is not divisible by 5 and 2 is 10s Euler number
      Such as 1,3,7,9
