Ayup Woodlanders How are you? As you watch feel free to comment especially when you get to the part about playing shops and what percentage your on this week. Take care and hope you can enjoy some #woodlandgoodness , all the best to you, Darren
Best wishes to you and yours. I know what you mean about mental health support services, as a member of my own family has been through the wringer. Over time, and with the right medication and support, things can improve quite significantly, so hang on in there mate, and feel the love from all of us.
With all that yourve got going on I would like to say thank you for being so generous with your time giving me advise with my charcoaling best wishes to you and your family
Hi Buddy thanks for a lovely video again sorry to here about Karen's health hope she gets well soon from Budo And Tracy also when she is in a better place have you thought of bringing here along with you to your work and keep chatting with her and get here working in your environment just a thought buddy all the best Budo & Tracy 🍺🤠👍🏻
Hi guys, thanks for watching. With Karen it can take time, I try every week to get her to come with me but her motivation is so low she just doesn’t want to leave the house. When she comes home I’ll keep trying.
Me again Darren. Those who have been through some sort of mental health issues will talk about it with others who might open up first. I think the loudest voices sometimes are those who have not been through something. So the rest of us shutdown when they start putting mental health down.
I’m just glad things have moved on from decades past. I spoke to a lady the other day of similar age, her mum is BP and her father in an attempt to protect told them they must never speak of it, but that seems to do more damage it seems
Good on ya. Its not easy living with someone with mental health issues. Thanks for chatting about it. I felt myself nodding and agreeing with you as you were talking. It's tough seeing the person you love go through that pain and there's nothing you can do for them. That was such a relaxing video full of productive days. I love seeing you go through your week and getting stuff done. Such a nice setup/yard, there amongst the trees.. Thanks for letting us see you work. Sometimes a few hours on the saw is the best medicine. Im taking my 11yr old to the field today with the branch logger, he loves feeding the branches..
Thanks so much, yes it’s been a difficult summer this year. Hope you had a productive day too, one of my fav jobs is feeding a chipper or branch logger
Glad your family is getting a bit of a breather. I pray they get the meds sorted out. Hey, great chipper there! We broke down and got a cheap chipper. I broke the last one. I am hoping I did not bend the drive shaft like I am speculating, but it was easier to buy a new one and wait till Winter to tear into the old one. Those chips are so handy to have around. You are sure getting a lot done! Keep that stiff upper lip and hold your loved ones close during these trying times. You got this!
Thanks you, wood chip is very handy, I’ve wanted one for years just never had any funds. Hope you get yours sorted out. Thanks for your kind words and thoughts
Blimey I'm only half way through. Yes selling. Making something from what some might say is 'not much' is so fulfilling. Love it when it happens, but not often enough for some like myself.
Darren that bug you just mentioned. I knocked a 2" 'nobble' off an Oak tree years ago. I turned it on the lathe and it's weird inside. I'll have to send you a pic. You can see where a grub has eaten a pathway around the piece. But it's poop is as hard as the wood itself. Very weird.
Darren, understand your struggles with the wife and bipolar. We have a friend with it, the family and us have really struggled with her made worse with drinking problem and medication :( You are spot on, the mental health system is broken and the ATOS people are not in the real world! Take care. Best wishes Phil
Thanks Phil, it’s tough when you’re in the middle of it and no one appears to be really listening. She’s being looked after in hospital which is a huge relief because I just couldn’t do any more.
@@AbellTo Darren, totally agree. Wife & I was in the middle of it phones calls all hours of the night & day also phone calls from police! then the family get involved it does drag you down. Pleased she is in hospital and they are looking after her and stabling her medication. Stay strong for yourself and daughter. Best wishes Phil
Darren, please take care of yourself. Ellie Rae needs you. She is such a lovely young person. Loved the chipper. Did you put a floor or covering on the floor of your wood store? Just wondering. Best wishes to you and yours. Thanks for sharing.❤
Thank you so much. We’re doing ok. I just put a couple of slabs down for this year, if the bottom ones don’t dry I may cut up some pallets to fit. Take care Regards Darren
That chipper would come in handy around here! No better way to reduce the off-cuts to something useful and manageable, imo. How to market the chips? Tough, really. You could always save up the chips till you have a tote full, then advertise that to the local gardeners who need a small batch of mulch for their yards.
Hello Darren, great vlog, loved every minute of it. Things will get better. Great little chipper by the way, if only I could get my hands on decent mulch. All the best from Plessala France.🙂
Thank you, that’s very kind. I had so much footage and cut no end out just to trim it to 30 min. I don’t like it that long normally. The chipper is great, I’m very happy with it
Just wanted to leave a comment to say that I find your videos very inspiring and useful, I'm currently searching for somewhere in Scotland to be able to do some green woodworking and charcoal making etc. I've supported a previous partner through her mental health struggles, dealing with the NHS and also the DWP with assessments etc, it's brutally frustrating and upsetting. I've been at about 30% myself this week, am hoping for better soon! Keep up the good work.
Thanks you, that’s very kind. I feel your pain and I hope you lift out of the 30% soon and your Scotland dream comes true, I’d love to know how you get on.
So sorry to hear about Karen. I should imagine, the system being broken just makes it all worse. If there was an escalation process and beds, and help and knowledge of what's going on, then she probably wouldn't be as bad? I'm just saying this from my own mental health experience. Look after Ellie Rae, and yourself. I've still not finished watching so might comment again. Comments helps us RUclipsrs out 👍
She is being looked after and the staff are really good, often it’s the bit before hospital that’s a real challenge to deal with. It’s like to run in concrete sometimes. We’re doing ok at the minute. Thanks for all your comments
Sorry to hear about your wife's struggles, the Crisis Team are well named, as they seem to create most of the crises and don't get me started on DWP/Atos assessments ! They've convinced themselves, after doing away with inpatient beds, that Care in the Community is the way forward, but it's an absolute joke. My sis in law was a registered mental health nurse, but packed it in as she was gradually becoming worse than her patients because of the lack of support and underfunding. Nice score on the chipper, have you got a market for the chip yet ? The stuff from our smaller jobs (Jensen tracked chipper) goes for mulch usually and the bigger jobs we get in a specialist to deal with it. Just picked up a tired Jappa pto saw that needs a little bit of tlc, something like it would be perfect for your fire wood processing set up. Take time to look after yourself and your daughter though, especially don't doubt yourself !
Thanks so much, it’s a struggle at times eh. Sadly the good people in these jobs get exhausted due to the system no working well at times. The chipper is great and I sold what I chipped in this video. I’m hoping to market it in small bags for garden projects. If I could save enough a small processor would be great, I’ll see how sales of small bags of firewood goes once I’ve passed the Woodsure hurdle. Thanks for your kind words, we’re doing ok at the minute
Hi. Good question, I’ve had a look at the messages but he’s pulled out of the chat and I can’t see now. However I know it was from near Chester. Thanks for watching. It’s a great little chipper

Despite all your problems, you still find the time to produce all these excellent videos.Cannot have enough Darrens in this world.
Thanks, I enjoy it, it’s a challenge to schedule it all in!
I’m so glad you like them

Your most welcome and thank you for your kindness
Love the process of cutting logs into splitting, then into the store. Fluid. Looking good Darren
Thanks Jamie, I’m always trying to improve the process with what I have, I hate double handling if I can avoid it
A very interesting video, thank you, best wishes to you and your family
Thank you so much, all the best to you too

Hey Darren your subscribers are growing well done.🙂
Hi, yes a nice steady creep up, summer is often slower growth. Can’t quite believe so many have tuned in

It really is very handy, I’m hoping to sell in a compost sized bag to gardeners who may not want or need a trailer full

Nice chubby thigh beatle at the end, haven't seen any in Pembrokeshire yet this year.
I had no idea what it was but I just loved the look of it. All the best mate.

Did a chap called Peter Bagguley sell you that chipper, by any chance? He's my brother! Big up to all!
