Anti fertility herb: Get to know about Watha community in Kilifi using seeds for birth control

The Watha is a small community that is facing threats of extinction in Kilifi county. The other unique feature about the community is that they have been using a wonder seed herb known as Mturi Mturi for birth control. According to women from this community, these seeds are chewed or used as a soup base albeit in secrecy as their husbands have been against it insisting that they are few in numbers and need to populate. The use of the herbal seed might be scaled up across the country as it is under research by the institute of primate research under the national museums of Kenya which says they have made significant progress after trying it on a baboon.
