For the RAW edition we have added a couple of magic ingredients to the clipping section of the K side: a set of hand selected New Old Stock Mullard/Valvo labelled OC45 germanium transistors from the 60s.
This is the first K-type circuit to feature germanium transistors!
We have tried many germanium transistor types and found that the OC45 transistors added a supernatural feel with organic compression for increased gain and sustain. Fear not - the standard sounds are still there in the stock setting where you listen to germanium diodes clipping like in the original unit.
I like to sneak in and say to sponsors that I watch Mike's vids for Mike and then am happy when a product is so well demonstrated. Smart to use him.
Damn you are good.
Damn that isn't the first germanium Klon thing.
YEA!! Great version of Such A Night ❤️
Great demo of this unit and its many sound options. As always, love your smooth playing.
As always…THANK YOU!!! Happy 4th of July 2024!!! 🇺🇸
Good afternoon, a very relaxing effect with a really delicious sound. He can bite, but again so nice and delicious, a very cultured expression and I like that. The specifications and technical solution seem to be super good. Made for blues, southern rock, maybe even country style, etc. Great to watch and listen to. Greetings Pavel CZ.👍👍👍
What a 'Pedal'
I have the other version of this pedal and even though I think it sounds great, I took it off my board, because I always want a Klon type pedal AFTER another overdrive. And there’s no easy way to fix this on the Unobtanium. A simple switch to reverse the order would be a perfect solution.
I understand why CTC did it this way. The left side should be considered as an amp. But of course it’s not. It’s an overdrive. A good sounding overdrive, absolutely! But still an overdrive.
The sounds are good though. 😊
Might be able to get a mod by a skilled person.
Hi there, you can easily do what you are after regarding the effects order with just one extra instrument cable
The two effect sections are completely independent with their own input/output jacks. The fx loop just connects them when nothing is inserted
Plug your guitar at the fx loop return (dumble side input) then use a short instrument cable to connect the master output (dumble side output) with the master input (klon side input) and use the fx loop send (klon side output) to continue your signal to the next pedal or your amp
Now you have the klon side after the dumble side
@@CrazyTubeCircuits : Wow!!! I didn’t know! I thought the fx loop would only function to add another effect in between the two sides. I never thought it was this simple. This changes everything for me. Thank you so much!!! 😃👍🧡🧡🧡
@@mariodriessen9740 happy to help! Rock on
I've got the original Unobtanium with de dedicated foot switch and loving it. Now with this new version I feel a little dissapointed because I didn't know that the Dumble ODS side was the jazz setting.... If I wanna try the rock setting I have to buy the new pedal and this is even more expensive...Why not giving us SSS-ODS Jazz-ODS-Rock settings in one pedal?
Being from New Orleans i love this!
Doesnt the cornerstone Colosseum have both silicon and germanium in its klone? Beautiful version of such a night too bro!
Yeah, this "1st klone w/ Ge clippers" claim seems goofy.
I built a BYOC Silver Pony 2 eight or ten years ago, and it can switch from Ge to Si to LED clipping.
Brilliant name
Alien vs monsters reference?
