I tried this last year with my X12S Horus. Used in a 1700mmWs aileron sport trainer. Running glow ASP91FS. Readings where all over the show. Guessing it didn't like the vibration if IC engine. Had pitot tube out on wingtip away from prop wash. So no real understanding why else. Was hoping it would give clear and accurate readings as your demo did. Was a little disappointed. But feeling hopeful now I see you having success. Will look back into it
It needs to know the static (normal atmospheric pressure, so likely the vibrations from the engine were upsetting this.

@@sakshimane1612can't help I'm sorry, 😔. I plug the straight in to my FrSky Rx "Sport" the transmitter auto detects
Hi Andrew, I can’t seem to allocate a specific pin to FBUS on the X 20? It seems to appear on yours once you scroll down to the bottom of the last channel?

Any idea what the minimum speed is? I found the minimum was less than the max l/d for something like an HLG...making it not that useful for performance verification, etc.
Probably geared towards higher speed measurement than HLGs
I have the same set up as you, using the Tandem X20 series radio. Is there any way of having a widget that will display the highest speed reached during the flight?
Yes, I think you click and hold on the Speed telemetry item then you get more options
Is it possible to use this with a flight controller? Like speedybee f405wing? It has a connector for analog air speed sensors but still not sure if it will work or not...
No, only works with SPort / FBus receivers
I currently have the model ASS 100 installed in my model. However. The speed indicator fluctuates all the time. Do you know how to calibrate it by chance?
Dont know about calibration but there was some talk on RCGroups about needing firmware updates
@@AndrewNewton. I updated the firmware for it as well. That didn’t work much. Lol. I guess it’s either a defective one, or it’s just the nature of how this particular model sensor is.

Hi Andrew. I bought the FrSky G-RX8 Receiver Designed for Gliders integrated Variometer sensor into RX8R with Redundancy function. I'm living in South Africa. We tried just about all the new firmwares possible for it but can't get it to bind to my tx16s radio with EdgeTX software. Can you maybe give some advice pkease
Can you bind the G-RX8 by itself?
Just found that you need to push harder than you think on the bind button to put it into bind mode (green and red LEDs on)
@@AndrewNewton No we tried that. We tried to bind without bridging to get the 8 channels but no luck.
Mine is working as expected. But I did have to push very hard on the G-RX8 bind button to get it into bind mode. Firmware ACCST D16 V2.1.2, MultiProtocol FRSKYx2 D16. Module V1.3.3.0

Now work out the minimum airspeed for that model and program your radio to vibrate and call out "DON'T STALL...DON'T STALL" when you slow near to it. 🙂

I had to type in "360kph RC Planes" and found "Dynamic Soaring"; no motor; breaking the sound barrier,, Top speed recorded at 882kph, apparently... Unbelievable!!!
