Hey man I'm a huge fan of you, but sometimes I wished you did some small leads just to check how the single notes on the upper register feel. I still love your content and I'll be following you no matter if you do leads or not! It was just a suggestion!
There will be no deedeleedee's here my friend. Only pure unadulterated hard-core with a touch of classic rock. Haha
You on the wrong Channel if you want that
His merch literally says no leads. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
That’s the most inappropriate comment on this channel 🤣 man don’t complain about the lack of leads, that’s not the place! No offence, go elsewhere for leads!
I do love leads, but I think this is the worst thing you can do to demo some gear. In the leads 90% of the sound is in the fingers. Put a bit of delay and reverb and anything will sound good in the hand of a lead master. That just why if I wanna compare some gear before buy I go to the kyle bull channel and A/B the sound! Its just the best channel to compare gear so thx Kyle!
I played the non blackout version of this amp in 2018 in Finland and it was AMAZING.
Nice Heritage! Amp sounds fantastic! Marty knows what he's doing!
My fav ENGL. I loved every sound I've gotten from it.
Have you tried the Morse signature model?
Man do I ever want to hear the Fireball 100 vs the Artist Edition 100 someday
Inferno vs fireball 100 needed
Picked this amp up last year. Takes me from six to midnight every time I plug in.
Been gigging a Fireball 100 for a few years now. I'd love to see your impressions on one.
It’s his favourite ENGL as per his past videos. I’m also waiting for a proper dedicated video on they amp; maybe he’s saving it as the best for last entry.
Fireball 100 is my favorite amp.
Have it and can't be happier. Heavy AF
@@Krankenstein It's a monster.
A lot of the time when I hear arguments about amps not having enough low end, I think about the fact that at these price points the amps are for professionals, either recording or playing live. And that low end would be removed in mixing anyway. It makes the amps more suitable as professional tools. Whether it sounds kick ass in your bedroom playing by yourself isn't really a concern for most of the audience for these amps.
an ENGL with more lower frequency saturation , love that richer & more complex saturation.
I'd be reluctant to buy without a depth or presence knob.
Kyle! I’ve been watching your channel for well over a year now, love all of your demos. Would you ever consider doing a dialing in a modern metal tone amp tutorial? I know you did one with a vintage amp, but it would be cool to see a video demonstrating the how-tos on a more typical amp such as 5150, 6505, EVH, etc.
Tried out the ENGL fireball 25 and sent it back . I believe it was damaged in shipping, not much gain, lots of noise even with gate full. Had some intense volume swells . Got scared off on trying another and went with a Mesa Badlander . Maybe I need the full size ENGL 🤷♂️
An' here comes the one & only KYLE,
aka
Chuggy Checker, with his smash hit: "Let's wrist again!"
🤘🤘🤘!
awesome demo
Thank you!
Drop C with the Phoenix, and no boost. Great tone and simple for gigs. Nice review
love badass lead amps like this, gunna bug you with much love to demo the Legacy VL 100 with a boss Super OD through greenback 25's! you rock man haha sorry for always asking the same thing! or that Triumph!
The intro bit is hilarious today.
No ENGL sounds bad ever
But none sounds really great either.
Oof!! lol @@ThyFinalPain
@@CS-ru4xd "Oof!! lol" ?
Sounds awesome. Kind of has a bit of an Orangey low mid focus.
definitely fatter than a lot of other Engls!
Might want to find that Mille Petrozza ENGL signature he brought out some years ago. Shit sounded brutal.
Never even heard of that one! Will look into it
@@belligerentamateur It's called the "Extreme Aggression" because of course it fucking is. Like a meatier Fireball, form what I gathered.
Man that sounds fucking killer. Definitely my kind of sounds here.
I need to make some vids of my Engl Smolski. Not a lot of content out around that one and it’s a killer for sure.
Bad ass amp, the Victor Smolski. Insane amounts of gain with a very open mid voicing that also remains tight and usable when cranked.
Marty has a very melodic and huge sounding metal tone that has plenty of warmth to it. I wonder How he does that with this map when this Guy can’t even seem to get close to Marty’s tone. Dial in Undertow tone please!
@3:30 my 9 year old son loved it he laughed laughed laughed!!!!
Nice review Kyle, love that amp, altho I'm a marshall guy through and through. Well done, with or without leads😂
Hey Kyle, I know it’s Engl month but! Just food for thought, you should compare the joyo Argo overdrive to the precision overdrive by horizon devices. I just got an Argos for like 42/43 bucks shipped and it is surprisingly good for the money man, trust me for a 40 dollar pedal I doubt you would regret it. If not I get it. Love your content, keep it up man. Loving the Engl stuff
Caline Tantrum for $30 murders everything out there.
What do you think to the invader 100 this is my personal favourite and current amp just doesnt seem to get much love. Just wanted to know your opinion ?
Swear that one riff reminds me of Speak English or Die by Stormtroopers of Death … lol
Sounds awesome. I can't even afford to try it out.
Have you tried a Traynor Custom Special 100? Well built made in Canada amplifier with lots of features, kind of a rectifier type amp. Can be bought fairly cheap too.
I used to own this amp but I never could get it to sound like this. I ended up selling it and just stuck to my Peavey JSX.
Funny thing: There’s one Inferno and one JSX in my area on sell right now and I was considering both. I already have a 3120 mind you, but for the price difference, I think I would still go with the JSX as well. Seems to be a bit more versatile.
Kyle bull , brother I can not believe you still have not tried out the bluguitar amp1 iridium. I have a wall full of Mesa, peavey, Marshall, and a few engl and I have to say it is shocking how bada$$ the bluguitar amp1 is in comparison .
Amp guys are always hilarious.
i have this amp. i don't like the tone shift button much. makes it to mid focused for metal stuff. i never kick it in. live on a engl i just crank the mids since they are somewhat scooped. Live i mostly use the special ed without any boost in front. on the lead channel i use the mid boost on the se tough, just for that bit extra you know. The engl inferno is also cool, but i'm not really shaking hands with it tough.
I'm hearing what everybody else hears, ear piercing brittle treble, and tinniness, and wimpy Bass..
When Engl incorporates all the different sculpting features like the Savage MK 2 has into the Inferno, and adds a great bass sculpting feature, and pretty much everything else you said, THEN, I'm going to buy The Inferno.. right now it's just too much on the high end frequency for me to spend that kind of money
What has been your favourite Engl model so far?
This amp is a slightly modded E765 Retro Tube.
I would expect any Engl to chug
Is this better or on par with the fireball 100? Which would you prefer?
Did you ever tried the Engl Victor smolski Signature Amp.....im playing this Gainmonster for many years.
Please Demo this one.😎👍👍👍
Gotta ask, what’s your favorite engl head that you’ve tried? Was thinking of spending the cash and getting an Engl head, but not sure which one. Also you said the king in yellow was your new favorite od, do you like it even better than the duality dx?
Fireball 100 for me, hands down. If this amp or the artist has presence and resonance on the power amp, they would be right up there
@@belligerentamateurthanks Kyle I own almost all my current amps because of your videos (everything but the Bluguitar iridium, which you should absolutely try).
OHHHH YEAHHHHHHHH!
ENGLIZE ME BABY!
You are a cool dude!
How does it compare to Crate Blue Voodoo?
Waiting for the Powerball II!
Ive been looking at this amp or a revv generator, do you think you could compare the two? or tell me the differences between them, also how does the clean sound on this amp
Polar opposites if U like raw aggressive amps go engl if U prefer quieter more polite and polished tones go the revv
See Kyle, you do care, almost ,you played the beginning oh Hells Bells right!! The second part is the same chord shape that you played at the beginning but you just play it like chords.
I notice some compression on certain passage. Is that from the amp sag?
@8:50 mark?
@@stoneass yes sir
Nice amp that would’ve been amazing with presence and depth punch/resonance controls for the power amp section. I think this a major shortfall with certain ENGL amps.
Put an MXR 10-band EQ in the loop. Problem solved.
@@TheCyberMantis Of course. There are also other devices for the loop that specifically add presence and resonance to the power amp stage.
Still, if this amp had those built in, it would be fully rounded as a high gain option without needing anything in the chain other than the amp itself.
@@ordohereticus3427 All amps need stuff in the signal chain. No idea why that is even an issue. Why do guitar players have 100 pedals? LoL!
@@TheCyberMantisWe all say "oh man this amp over here is perfect & simple & sounds great just plugged straight in, guitar, cable, amp, done"! Then we always end up with our pedalboard in the amp/loop.
Man that low end must be punchy as hell cause it kicked the compressor you have on the video in the teeth.
Chugging engl is unexpected? ;)
Dude, do I have to be gay to own this amp? Asking for a friend
Nope, just willing to go down, no homo 😂😂
????
Engl’s have massive balls…so there’s that …
☝️😲
Sounds nothing like Marty Friedman.
🫵
Boring sounding amp. It sounds really flat and dull, but then, maybe it's the guitar or how it's being mic'd.
It's the player. Tone is in the fingers.
@@TheCyberMantis- Maybe a little, but I wouldn't say that's where ALL of the tone comes from. Fingers.. I'd say maybe 10-20%, realistically.
