Thank you for this ! I bought the Ryzen variant in 2019 and *touch wood*, everything is still running. I use my laptop for making videos, photoshop and anything but gaming. I am finally upgrading the RAM to 16gb and the storage. The battery has been meh, I am getting a replacement because after nearly 5 years, it might go kaput. This video has been great with explaining things in details. Hopefully I do not screw anything up !

How do I know what ram size to get? Sorry if this a dumb question, I know I have a 8gb but I don't know the measurements or type of ram I need to look for
Its DDR4 RAM the form factor is all the same. What you need to know is the speed which is 2400 I think but just get the same speed that you take out otherwise you might not get any gain.

Im upgrading one of these in the office, and found 32gb sodimms. Asus says max 8gb, Crucial says 16gb... can these read or use 32?

5:32 This one was missing its hard drive carriage and also the small flex cable that plugs in to the board.
Can see it at 5:32 next to the m.2 SSD

download cpuz it will tell you what ram you have installed and also will tell you how many slots on the mainboard you

Is the CPU removable or is it soldered to the board? Is it possible to upgrade it?
