Actually think about the impact. A regular woman slap and a regular man slap. The force is different. So in most cases it is not consider assault when hit by women because for it to be an assault there has to be above a limit of damage written in the law.
Maybe bc they try to make up in an inni-mini-tiny-way for the thousands of dramas of abused, grabbed, forcefully kissed, raped, thrown, slapped, tortured, sold and many many more things that is done to women in drama-land and of course in real life?
