Yeon jeon is so sweet to her and it makes sense why they ended up together because they understand the pain of being good and getting punished by evil people who get away with it. The reason why ha do yeong and Moon Do eun can't end up together (despite their chemistry) is because he simply could never understand what she went through to the fullest extent. The story implies that he has the habit of being just as shallow and demanding as his ex wife and her group because he grew up in that background. While he very clearly isn't heartless because he puts his daughter above everything and everyone, he doesn't really care about anyone who gets in his way. Do Eun on the other hand feels remorse for those she happens to hurt in pursuit of her revenge. I think maybe in another timeline, where do eun wasn't bullied, she could've become an architect and met him while applying for his construction company, and he probably would've fallen in love with her before he ever met his wife. But for this one, I think the one that she belongs with is yeon jeon because they both rely and support on each other

Do-yeong was 1st curious, then attracted, then started to have some feelings for Dong-eung.. but after knowing he was a pawn in a way to her revenge plans.. he didnt go any further with those feelings coz he knew they do not have any future together..so whatever feelings he had he kept them in and left the country with his daughter so that those feeling wont grow any further.. they really do shout "we met too late".. hope these two come together in another drama.. I really wanna see them together..

Dong-eun offered a gimbap for Do-yeong, but he rejected it just like he later rejected Dong-eun's suggestion to divorce young-jen. He did not conform to Dong-eun's plan as she had wished. Later he divorced young-jen to protect his "empire." He then ate a gimbap, which highlights he finally complied with what Dong-eun had wanted from him in the first place. BTW, excellent bgm for this couple, their chemistry and tension are accentuated.
Part of Dong Eun's plan was everyone to leave Yeon jin's side but especially she wanted the husband to leave/ divorce her as Yeon Jin was his "Glory" and he now knew of her true nature as the bully and murderer. In the end her plan worked out cause Dong Eun made his decision to divorce Yeon Jin and go to England with his Daughter. I feel that they did care for each other but was it love..some say it was but that's another thing ..😆

I think Dr Joo said it perfectly. Dong Eun plays a patient and quiet game. Do Yeong continued to stick by his wife but as Dong Eun closed in the territory. His wife's behaviour made him rethink his choice and in the end divorce was his only option. She didn't want to be accountable for her actions.The funny thing was I think part of Yeon Jin thought he wouldn't go ahead with divorce because of optics but he did it anyway because her response to the news reports... she wasn't happy 😂

Though I badly ship these two, I totally get the storyline. I'd rather preserve the feeling of anticipation that they might end up together than to make the situation more mind blowing and absurd if the attraction between them would prosper. This is what we call a matured love and care. They may have felt something but it is impossible to bring it to the next level for the obvious reasons. Broken soul needs healing first. Do-Yeong's charisma is insane. I loved every scene where they both appeared together, they had so much tension. I especially loved how Do-Yeong was desperately looking for her in the Go room when he first met her, then turned and left the room, quite disappointed not to see her again. She then appears at the door, ignores him completely, he turns and follows her with his gaze brightened again by her presence. She sits down calmly and plays with her hair, which can be seen ambiguously, as preparation for the Go game but also as indirect flirtation

Every single time his eyes fall on her you can see him come alive. I love the explicit pain in his eyes & voice when he asks her if her scars still hurt. Her admission that she didn't want to hurt him. I think that was important for him to hear. Yes, he was a pawn in her plan but she was not vindictive or evil to hurt him or his daughter. We know they weren't going to end up together but their scenes still oozed chemistry and I felt that he really did love her too. Some things are better left unspoken I guess.

I saw a korean review channel about Glory and highlight Ha Doyoung's character also add why he didn't leave his wife at first when Dong-eun suggested that to him. It said that he's very meticulous when he makes any decision - from business to personal matters. He doesn't rush and analyze things first. He doesn't like change so he maintains what he can protect. Also speculated that Ha Doyoung thinks that if he's still with Yeon jin , he will be able to see Dong-eun again as he's still one of her pawns in the game of Revenge. From his perspective as concubine's son, he believes family unity and image are very important. When he gathered enough evidences and he had to do damage control, he controlled what he can protect - his company and the daughter he raised Yesol. In my opinion I believe he has strong attraction to Dong-eun because it's the first time he was emotionally and passionately drawn to a woman for her intellectual traits. Dong-eun exudes confidence, mysterious and boldness. This definitely peaked his interest. He never met anyone like her as to him a woman is a complete set to his grandiose image. I don't think he'll pursue Dong-eun after he knew that the Doctor revealed his interest and supported her revenge when they played GO in the park. These two kept me on my feet and were the reason I pushed through the season. I don’t feel like this was one sided as they were both admiring each other throughout the show. Do young had such an effect on Dong eun that even she almost forgot that she was supposed to make yeon Jin really pay, ended up giving her the easy way out by confessing because of Do young but then yeon Jin’s response snapped her back into reality. She began to care for him throughout their time together and refused to get revenge through their daughter. I feel like she realized that she had to really stay away from Do young cause he was one hell of a distraction, he was different, mature, and mentally challenged her, Do young is the cure to her broken heart as you can see she grows empathy when being around him. Their conversations really had Dong eun deep in thought compared to the doctor and Do young of course builds a park for her, thinks about her, and even kills jun Jae for her.
Do young is a healed man and Dong eun was scared of that because he started making her feel things she never felt before. So she avoided him throughout that whole picture fiasco and ended up with a boy version of herself who’s damaged and driven by revenge.

Well, he did it perfectly. Of course he did it to the great thrill of the viewers, remember he was first a stage actor before he shifted to small screen. He is so damn good. I wish KES could write another smashing for these two talented artists collaborate as kead stars. It's high time SHK team up with a male lead at her age level . But of course, SHK is still very beautiful, youthful looking, and capable of doing varied roles. International viewers look for talents and performance, rather than compatibility in age. Looking at SHK & LDH visuals especially in the last episode when they went to Jisan Prison and looked up to the sky entering the prison's gate, nobody could say that one is older than the other, or youder than the other. It seems SK audience have a hang up on age. Western and other international viewers don't give it a big deal, they look for talent and excellent performance of the of the artists. Pres. Macron of France has his wife 25 years older than him, and he is very proud and happy of her. Johnny Depp married Amber who was a lot younger than him, yet she did betrayed and abused him and loved only his money.

I feel dissapointed that Dong Eun didn't even say a proper goodbye to Do Yeong and thank him properly. He is the only one she didn't have a talk with in the end after everything happened. Ending left me a bitter taste of unrequited love and what could have been.
True I think they're trying to leave it open for interpretation as well. Dong eun may not have said a proper goodbye to Do Yeong and Yel sol as she might come visit them in future or even write letters. Although, it would have been nice to see her at the airport and saying goodbye to Yel sol and Dong Yeong they hug and we feel that spark we've been feeling with them and then she smiles and waves goodbye.

While Dong-Eun and Do-Yeong def had strong chemistry between them which I loved seeing every time I saw them together on the screen I feel the reason why the producers had her end up with the doctor is because well they do have chemistry just not the same intense chemistry but more a kindled, caring understanding chemistry towards each other since both have suffered trauma in the past. And as someone mentioned in the comments below: Do-Yeong is a dominant individual. And someone who will prioritise his reputation and imagery. As for Dong-Eun, she is a woman who follows her own choices and is unpredictable. And a person who's soul still needs to healing. I feel their relationship would not be stable and functional compared to the her and the doctor. But maybe in future things could change and could reunite again.

In one episode, he said he chooses England, because his daughter loves soccer. I truly honestly wished , that Moon dong eun would choose him over the other guy. I think their chemistry is very natural. They express atrraction/affection without the use of words. The other guy seems , too young for her and kind of clingy , although he was the most helpful one to achieve her revenge. Well what to do ...the author made her choose the other guy. His priorities were completely different from hers and he had also killed his daughter’s biological father and hidden his body. I appreciate that he did this to protect his daughter. I really liked the male character. He is an ideal husband as well as an ideal father. In marriage sometimes we fell out of love and sometimes we may feel attracted to someone else. What I liked about him that he didn’t lose control. Though he had feelings for Do eun, he didn’t act on it though he had excuse that his wife was not loyal to him. Even after he got to know about his wife, he didn’t leave her immediately but always was there for her. It was his wife who chose to divorce him instead of asking for forgiveness. Also, he neither abandoned his daughter, nor he stopped loving her despite knowing he was not her biological daughter. I really wish to have such a gentleman in my life.

I'm actually glad that they didn't take this approach with these two. I think they both drew each other in and tried to understand each other. This was a mutual respect not love. However, this show was an intense, but great show to say the least.
Yes, I have same expectation as yours but in a different drama because I feel the understanding and chemistry between Dong-Eun and Yeo-Jeong is more about love, and same suffering of life in this drama.
Not one kissing or sexual scene between them yet they brought the most heat and intensity than any other pairing in the show. I understand why they couldn't end up together,it would have been overkill. But man if he wasn't a better match for her than the doctor. I appreciated what the doctor brought to her life, and how they saved each other by the end. I feel like Do Young represented what Dong Eun could have had, if she'd been allowed to live a normal life.
I freaking felt soooo bad for do young He was such a genuine and nice person and it was clear he really admired or even loved Dong Eun When he and Yeo jeong played The game of Go for the second and both admitted that Dong Eun deserved all the happiness she can get, that moment was just really beautiful Do young's eyes portrayed the pain he felt when he came to know about the bad deeds his wife had done and it felt so real And it sometimes felt like he find it hard to convey his feelings because he must have felt that he don't have the right to do so This drama is just so amazing, every character is fabulous
Ahhh I’ve found my tribe ! I thought I was the only one on this ship😂 This just made sense damn it. In my head they are endgame 😌 Okay I have more thoughts 😅 In this type of drama I agree that they didn’t necessarily have to end up together, but my goodness, had she just even slightly acknowledged their mutual attraction, just with a millisecond of a glint in her eye, I might have died! I’m actually not mad that these two didn’t get together, the unspoken attraction did everything it needed to do. I’m moreso mad that they still had to force a romantic story line in a plot that absolutely didn’t need it. Yes, my gripe is with the doctor. Loooved him as the partner in crime and he would have been a perfectly acceptable and necessary friend in need, especially to help her on her healing journey and just get her used to having someone care for her and show her the good side of humanity. But that puppy love schtik was completely forced, out of place and overbearing and ruined the chemistry that should have been there. It just didn’t fit. So yeah, I was more put off by their pairing than the lack of D-D action. 😅 Also I mostly watched Part 2 just cause I was frothing at the mouth for more of their scenes but sadly got too little and not even a satisfying goodbye. Surely she could have just shown up at the convenience store and shared that one last gimpap moment with him, (it would have been so poetic) or an intense silent look. Damn it !

Yeon jeon is so sweet to her and it makes sense why they ended up together because they understand the pain of being good and getting punished by evil people who get away with it.
The reason why ha do yeong and Moon Do eun can't end up together (despite their chemistry) is because he simply could never understand what she went through to the fullest extent. The story implies that he has the habit of being just as shallow and demanding as his ex wife and her group because he grew up in that background. While he very clearly isn't heartless because he puts his daughter above everything and everyone, he doesn't really care about anyone who gets in his way. Do Eun on the other hand feels remorse for those she happens to hurt in pursuit of her revenge.
I think maybe in another timeline, where do eun wasn't bullied, she could've become an architect and met him while applying for his construction company, and he probably would've fallen in love with her before he ever met his wife. But for this one, I think the one that she belongs with is yeon jeon because they both rely and support on each other

Part of Dong Eun's plan was everyone to leave Yeon jin's side but especially she wanted the husband to leave/ divorce her as Yeon Jin was his "Glory" and he now knew of her true nature as the bully and murderer. In the end her plan worked out cause Dong Eun made his decision to divorce Yeon Jin and go to England with his Daughter. I feel that they did care for each other but was it love..some say it was but that's another thing ..😆

She didn't want to be accountable for her actions.The funny thing was I think part of Yeon Jin thought he wouldn't go ahead with divorce because of optics but he did it anyway because her response to the news reports... she wasn't happy 😂

Though I badly ship these two, I totally get the storyline. I'd rather preserve the feeling of anticipation that they might end up together than to make the situation more mind blowing and absurd if the attraction between them would prosper. This is what we call a matured love and care. They may have felt something but it is impossible to bring it to the next level for the obvious reasons. Broken soul needs healing first. But, undeniably, Jung Sung Il and Song He Kyo made my stomach churn due to oozing chemistry. Hope to see them on a project once again.🥰

I especially loved how Do-Yeong was desperately looking for her in the Go room when he first met her, then turned and left the room, quite disappointed not to see her again. She then appears at the door, ignores him completely, he turns and follows her with his gaze brightened again by her presence. She sits down calmly and plays with her hair, which can be seen ambiguously, as preparation for the Go game but also as indirect flirtation

Every single time his eyes fall on her you can see him come alive. I love the explicit pain in his eyes & voice when he asks her if her scars still hurt. Her admission that she didn't want to hurt him. I think that was important for him to hear. Yes, he was a pawn in her plan but she was not vindictive or evil to hurt him or his daughter.

I saw a korean review channel about Glory and highlight Ha Doyoung's character also add why he didn't leave his wife at first when Dong-eun suggested that to him.
It said that he's very meticulous when he makes any decision - from business to personal matters. He doesn't rush and analyze things first. He doesn't like change so he maintains what he can protect.
Also speculated that Ha Doyoung thinks that if he's still with Yeon jin , he will be able to see Dong-eun again as he's still one of her pawns in the game of Revenge.
From his perspective as concubine's son, he believes family unity and image are very important.
When he gathered enough evidences and he had to do damage control, he controlled what he can protect - his company and the daughter he raised Yesol.
In my opinion I believe he has strong attraction to Dong-eun because it's the first time he was emotionally and passionately drawn to a woman for her intellectual traits. Dong-eun exudes confidence, mysterious and boldness. This definitely peaked his interest. He never met anyone like her as to him a woman is a complete set to his grandiose image.
I don't think he'll pursue Dong-eun after he knew that the Doctor revealed his interest and supported her revenge when they played GO in the park. Ha doyoung sees him as a man of equal standing- in term of influence, wealth and power.

These two kept me on my feet and were the reason I pushed through the season. I don’t feel like this was one sided as they were both admiring each other throughout the show. Do young had such an effect on Dong eun that even she almost forgot that she was supposed to make yeon Jin really pay, ended up giving her the easy way out by confessing because of Do young but then yeon Jin’s response snapped her back into reality. She began to care for him throughout their time together and refused to get revenge through their daughter. I feel like she realized that she had to really stay away from Do young cause he was one hell of a distraction, he was different, mature, and mentally challenged her, Do young is the cure to her broken heart as you can see she grows empathy when being around him. Their conversations really had Dong eun deep in thought compared to the doctor and Do young of course builds a park for her, thinks about her, and even kills jun Jae for her.
Do young is a healed man and Dong eun was scared of that because he started making her feel things she never felt before. So she avoided him throughout that whole picture fiasco and ended up with a boy version of herself who’s damaged and driven by revenge.

Well, he did it perfectly. Of course he did it to the great thrill of the viewers, remember he was first a stage actor before he shifted to small screen. He is so damn good. I wish KES could write another smashing for these two talented artists collaborate as kead stars. It's high time SHK team up with a male lead at her age level . But of course, SHK is still very beautiful, youthful looking, and capable of doing varied roles. International viewers look for talents and performance,
rather than compatibility in age. Looking at SHK & LDH visuals especially in the last episode when they went to Jisan Prison and looked up to the sky entering the prison's gate, nobody could say that one is older than the other, or youder than the other. It seems SK audience have a hang up on age. Western and other international viewers don't give it a big deal, they look for talent and excellent performance of the of the artists. Pres. Macron of France has his wife 25 years older than him, and he is very proud and happy of her. Johnny Depp married Amber who was a lot younger than him, yet she did betrayed and abused him and loved only his money.

SHK played well with younger actors who were casted as her boyfriend: Park Bo-gum, Jang Ki-yong, Lee Do-hyun … but it’s time to team up with an actor of her age; for a reason no other than … change the scene, the stereotype casting, and to challenge herself to fit into a different role … Audiences see it in western movies. Once in a blue moon an actor/actress who often casted as a hero/victim … plays a villain/evil perpetrator AND done a very convincing job, leaving the audiences perplexed 🤔 wondering ‘did he just play the antagonist in this film ???’

I feel dissapointed that Dong Eun didn't even say a proper goodbye to Do Yeong and thank him properly. He is the only one she didn't have a talk with in the end after everything happened. Ending left me a bitter taste of unrequited love and what could have been.
True I think they're trying to leave it open for interpretation as well. Dong eun may not have said a proper goodbye to Do Yeong and Yel sol as she might come visit them in future or even write letters. Although, it would have been nice to see her at the airport and saying goodbye to Yel sol and Dong Yeong they hug and we feel that spark we've been feeling with them and then she smiles and waves goodbye.

She suddendy cut him off of her life after Yeo Jin's downfall but I would love to see her waiting for him at the airport and exchange some heartwarming words of appreciation or even give a hint about a possible friendship in the future. Am I asking too much? We know she cared for him and didn't want to hurt him.
Because he means nothing to her except that he once was her enemy's husband. She has no affection to him and his daughter, she just respect him because at least, he respect her. For him, he definitely attracted to her and that certainly leaves an impact to his life but what can he do? she is the victim of his wife's cruelty so he can't keep seeing her like casually.
That would throw off some of the intensity of the scenes

While Dong-Eun and Do-Yeong def had strong chemistry between them which I loved seeing every time I saw them together on the screen I feel the reason why the producers had her end up with the doctor is because well they do have chemistry just not the same intense chemistry but more a kindled, caring understanding chemistry towards each other since both have suffered trauma in the past. And as someone mentioned in the comments below: Do-Yeong is a dominant individual. And someone who will prioritise his reputation and imagery. As for Dong-Eun, she is a woman who follows her own choices and is unpredictable. And a person who's soul still needs to healing. I feel their relationship would not be stable and functional compared to the her and the doctor. But maybe in future things could change and could reunite again.
This is the perfect example of ‘right person, wrong time'

In one episode, he said he chooses England, because his daughter loves soccer. I truly honestly wished , that Moon dong eun would choose him over the other guy. I think their chemistry is very natural. They express atrraction/affection without the use of words. The other guy seems , too young for her and kind of clingy , although he was the most helpful one to achieve her revenge. Well what to do ...the author made her choose the other guy.

I really liked the male character. He is an ideal husband as well as an ideal father. In marriage sometimes we fell out of love and sometimes we may feel attracted to someone else. What I liked about him that he didn’t lose control. Though he had feelings for Do eun, he didn’t act on it though he had excuse that his wife was not loyal to him. Even after he got to know about his wife, he didn’t leave her immediately but always was there for her. It was his wife who chose to divorce him instead of asking for forgiveness. Also, he neither abandoned his daughter, nor he stopped loving her despite knowing he was not her biological daughter. I really wish to have such a gentleman in my life.

He was attracted to her. She's something that he can't have. All the money in the world would not get her. But he accepts that he can't have her. The gimbap I think represent that she won. Do Yeong ended up divorcing Yeon Jin just how Dong Eun wanted. It was him saying "touche" and respect that she won the game. He's happy for her...even if his life was impacted.

I'm actually glad that they didn't take this approach with these two. I think they both drew each other in and tried to understand each other. This was a mutual respect not love. However, this show was an intense, but great show to say the least.

Not one kissing or sexual scene between them yet they brought the most heat and intensity than any other pairing in the show. I understand why they couldn't end up together,it would have been overkill. But man if he wasn't a better match for her than the doctor. I appreciated what the doctor brought to her life, and how they saved each other by the end. I feel like Do Young represented what Dong Eun could have had, if she'd been allowed to live a normal life.

And it sometimes felt like he find it hard to convey his feelings because he must have felt that he don't have the right to do so

In this type of drama I agree that they didn’t necessarily have to end up together, but my goodness, had she just even slightly acknowledged their mutual attraction, just with a millisecond of a glint in her eye, I might have died!
I’m actually not mad that these two didn’t get together, the unspoken attraction did everything it needed to do. I’m moreso mad that they still had to force a romantic story line in a plot that absolutely didn’t need it. Yes, my gripe is with the doctor. Loooved him as the partner in crime and he would have been a perfectly acceptable and necessary friend in need, especially to help her on her healing journey and just get her used to having someone care for her and show her the good side of humanity.
But that puppy love schtik was completely forced, out of place and overbearing and ruined the chemistry that should have been there. It just didn’t fit. So yeah, I was more put off by their pairing than the lack of D-D action. 😅
Also I mostly watched Part 2 just cause I was frothing at the mouth for more of their scenes but sadly got too little and not even a satisfying goodbye. Surely she could have just shown up at the convenience store and shared that one last gimpap moment with him, (it would have been so poetic) or an intense silent look. Damn it !
