The teacher is actually an old gnome, but you would not have seen many gnomes yet at this point, so I can see her getting confused with an elf.
Thanks for letting me know! I seriously love the designs of all the characters and races so far for a fantasy setting. They aren't all very stereotypical in their designs and have a lot of variations. Especially with like half race characters too.
