I just did that same weatherstripping on my door last weekend. I could not get that push pin in on mine. I just used the 3m adhesive on it. Seems to work well. So far at least. I also used the closed door to help it setup.
Barry I am more excited than you can’t wait for the last video to finish this beautiful car to hit the road. I must have missed you picking up the red mustang when did that happen
Great Video. Love these short videos that are directed at smaller tasks. When you explain every detail and problem you encounter it will make life a lot better when I get to that stage of my build. All the videos I have watched I always seem to learn easiest way of what to do and hopefully not make any mistakes. Keep up the great work!
Some of the comments talk about the lack of pin/screw holes. Beware there are cheap repos with no holes and more expensive ones with the holes that fit better overall. I bought a cheap one and ended up not using it because of poor fit and had to repurchase a better one. Another tip is to clean the surface as best you can before install. GREAT video by the way, that shows all the pitfalls one encounters.
Just thinking about how I might maintain progressive position (not stretched, not short). I think a dry fit then apply tape markers on the gasket and on the door at several milestone positions. Thanks for letting us watch over your shoulder as you do this work.
There is a small rubber pad on the back part of the door has a bunch of little black screws. The side one is the same screw. The forward push pin is way smaller with a flat top.
Thanks again. Is the installation the same on a 66 coupe. I didn't see anything in the video about attaching the seals to the bottom of the door. The bottom of my doors have what looks like a "lip" that the seal would be pushed into. Do you know if that is the case?
Barry, I recall someone telling me that perhaps one might need to use some solvent to remove the white powdery "release agent" from the seal base before applying adhesive. Not sure if that is the case here but it might explain the issue with the seal end coming unstuck. BTW I have the exact same issue. Re-glued several times without much luck.
I think you're supposed to apply the adhesive to the weatherstripping and door and then wait for it to get tacky before you install it, keeps it from twisting or popping up.
Undecided on the status for the red car. I haven't heard from the owner of the BP in a year. Not sure what's going on. I don't want to mess with it anymore.

All the videos you create are very useful. Thanks

Not a bad idea.

Good heads up on this just wondering why ford didn't use pins in the door seals thumbs up 👍

Should be very similar.

I believe Dennis & Daniel Carpenter are related, I think they are cousins
In my 67 its just glued in that corner you are having trouble with. There is no clip.
To much pressure on the push pin causing the rubber to curl.
I went to look up some parts at Mustangs Unlimited and google said they are permantly closed.
Yes. MU closed its doors after 44 years on Feb. 28, 2020.
Are there plans to restore Red Dave? What is actualy happening to the Brooklyn Pony? Will you finish it at a point?

@@JoDaddysGarage Well. Maybe you can keep it then :-)
Just wondering what is your tire and rim combination on the 68?
17x9 rear 255/40zr17 and 17X8 up front 235/40zr17
Drill and put another screw in there. I had to do that with my cougar.
Hoe veel heb je betaalt voor red dave als ik vragen mag 🤗
duizendhonderd
@@JoDaddysGarage 1100 daar krijg je in Nederland een set velgen en banden voor ga je deze om bouwen naar een fast ........🥳
For the love of God, if the hole is too small for the push pin then drill it bigger!!
