- My last day in Chennai and while I loved my stay in Leela Palace, I had to get back outside and get some local food.
So after touring around the breakfast (I didn't eat too much because I didn't want to spoil my appetite), I headed out to the beach.
I could literally see this spot from the hotel so I was curious to walk around this area. It just so happens that this area of Chennai is loaded with seafood restaurants.
I ended up eating at Meenavan unavagam because it looked like it had the most ratings on google. I must say this was such a good choice. The local people helped me order before finally the owner came over and really hooked me up with an overload of seafood!
My favorite was actually the squid which I am usually not a fan of but dang this was too good not to like.
After all that flavor and seafood, I was really thirsty so I found this person selling slap drink soda! This is such a refreshing carbonated drink and it hit the spot after so much seafood!

This place is called Pattinapakkam, Chennai, can buy fresh fish and many small food joints around, was there last week. Glad you enjoyed the food and the location 👌👏

It’s a savoury drink which is made of spices, tamarind, tomatoes and usually drank at the end of meal for digestion.

The last guys were actually very honest about the price. And they actually catch it just few minutes or hours before cooking it so u can't question the authenticity

I was working in Chennai back in 2013-14, and I would visit these seafood shops every few weeks. My favorite was fried prawns.

the gravy you are enjoying is called meen kozhambu. Nothing can come close to that one. Every household in Tamil Nadu do this.
Max, whenever you are in Mumbai you can visit Mahesh Lunch Home for excellent seafood, Baghdadi Hotel to try the Chicken masala Roast with a roti. These hotels are located near Gateway of India. Enjoy. Al Indians are very nice and very hospitable. We treat every foreigner with love and respect.

Dude u should really check out the temple architecture then since u r really interested in these designs. It can be found in every home in the village i am native from

Max thats Rasam . It comes next to Sambhar while eating as it helps in digestion since it is made up of coriander seeds pepper cumin etc. Rasam is the best food that you can have when you feel sick or a bad stomach or a heavy stomach
