12:40 the evap,comes horizontal left,top plate needs to changed horizontal right to prevent water leaks.2 cents.hope your hand get's better.
That sharp metal will get you every time. Keep those gloves handy. I don't like the gloves myself, but learned the hard way. Using a tubing cutter cutting a water heater loose, when it sprung it took my hide with it. That was some nice brazing once again. I have seen you do these quite a few times and that old coil wasn't as rusted out as many are, I guess you never know. One more thing, as many as you do, especially the horizontal units, I have yet to see you do a slab coil. I'm sure this season I will see one, maybe my own.
I’m sure the knuckle is plenty stiff and sore. Seems like a little exercise helps but it’s such a thin line to cross. Hope it heals in a hurry. Otherwise good one handed switch out!

Yes. Aluminum is very common now
Yes most coils are aluminium now and want last long b4 leaking, I've seen copper coils lasting 30 + yrs
At this point, most of us are worried about your hand. Since you admitted you made a mistake by not wearing gloves please don't make another one. Get yourself to an urgent care facility or ER tonight to get that hand accessed for damage. You may have partially severed the tendon. It may never completely heal. You don't leave coolant lines half-braized, do you?
The swelling is likely due to infection so that needs to be addressed as well. It will make all of us feel much better. PLEASE get it looked at. Hopefully, "it's just a minor flesh wound" as the knight from "The Holy Grail" said!
Thanks for the concern. I went straight to the doctor yesterday, got stitched up, and on antibiotics. And I have a referral to a hand surgeon if needed. I’m on the mend. It’s just really fresh and painful.

did the tendon actually get severed or was it still intact? A few months ago I did the same thing changing out a heater contactor on a goodman without using any pliers, cut clean through the tendon, and watched it basically say sayonara as it disappeared from my view. If that is the case for you, then your finger will permanently be lower than the rest of your fingers
