@@forgetfulstranger The games are good and much more developed than the anime. The anime was this bad because it was just a promo for the game, so of course its story is weak and incomplete. And be fr now, if the game would have been bad as well, it would have a low rating and the company wouldn't have how to obtain enough money to continue it with more games. Is not just one game, there are more DL games, seven much more exactly. So it means that, people really liked the first game, so the company obtained enough money to continue it with more games and even gave to those other games improved graphics. The story is very complex and is based on different traumas and mental/personality disorders caused by those traumas. The game is very dark because of this. But this makes it very interesting. Is more of a dark psychological horror game than a flower power romance otome game. Is about twisted topics and has some twisted romance as well. But not the romance is the main point in a route, you have to help them heal and to change and just then to get together with them. But you have to be careful because it can end up very bad, in a lot of endings you get killed, you go insane or other horrible things. A resume: You are first their psychiatrist in routes and just then you become their romantic interest. So, in the end, if you don't like something, this doesn't mean is bad. Let people to like whatever they want. It might be subjectively bad game for you, but obiectively is good and you are ignorant if you think otherwise. Those games aren't for everyone so try to be at least tolerant with what other people like, even if you don't like it. Is nicer like this.
