Crazy how the Americans got this got this guy to relax & to talk a lot more. Down under, he would barely say a word lol I love how SVG is a lot more open now. More relaxed nowadays
I've heard him say that the media in Australia is much more "gotcha" journalism and they'll take out one part of an interview and blow it out of proportion. I won't say that NASCAR journalists won't ask tough questions, but they won't blow things out of proportion and throw out a bunch of "click bait" headlights. While while NASCAR fans can be a little bit biased towards their driver, they are pretty level-headed when it comes to the sport overall and the drivers, and generally demand accurate, reasonable reporting. Now when it comes to criticizing NASCAR (the governing body), and the broadcasting, all bets are off. In the US, fans have a lot of access to the drivers. On any given weekend, between all three series, if you get there early, you can go to at least 5 to 10 q&as, where, depending on the driver, you have a good chance of getting a couple autographs and a couple questions. So I think, well there might be a driver or two that someone might hate, especially if they've had a run-in with your favorite driver, I think fans overall appreciate the drivers. And I think the media reflects that.
its so awesome to see him truly happy in life loving racing again ! shame v8 supercars couldn't give him the same happiness we in Australia could learn alot about the way we treat drivers in our motor sports
Yes , it is good to see him loving the life style and racing, but at the end of the day shane is only a racing car driver, good luck to him ..his not saving starving children etc thou.
Shane is such a genuine guy. Loved that story about the moment with his dad. I love my racing memories with my dad, I'll cherish them for the rest of my life.
There is a youtube video of Scotty Mac taking his dad for a lap around Bathurst in his V8 Supercar at the peak of his Aussie dominance.. very cool ride along.. Cheers
Damn a double win this weekend would cement him as a top Road Course Specialist Get in the fight Shane this weekend and all us kiwis miss you down under. All the best bro..!!!
This guy is the bomb 💣 I live in Canada & we have the Nascar Canada Series & they race all across Canada on short tracks-road courses-street courses-dirt & it’s extremely competitive & they have been racing on street courses for many years & i’m shocked it took the Nascar Cup Series this long to start racing on street courses which is a totally different beast rather than a purpose built road course. The Canadian series also races Dodge-Ford & Chevy & no Toyota which i really like. You can watch some old Nascar Canada Series racing on RUclips under either the “Nascar Canadian Tire Series” - “Nascar Pinty’s Series” which are old series sponsors but starting this year it’s now called the “Nascar Canada Series”.
I love our NASCAR media because without them we wouldn't know anything, But dang if I was a driver or anybody else associated with NASCAR I'd hate these media sessions. They get the same questions just asked by different people. 🤦🏻♀
Chicago has been a great place for NZ sports people the ABs playing at soldier feild to the US eagles and then the awsome game between the ABs against the Irish who won the very first time against them then the awsome SVG race
Road course is purpose built.. ie Sonoma, COTA Street is closing roads the public use with lots of concrete barriers.. the concrete walls being the level up in difficultly in particular.

@@sethbomgardner9030 Australian 'journalism' is a pathetic joke.
Big difference in the environment. Media and Commentators worlds apart.
We don't know him any other way.
Absolutely, met him at Bathurst 12hr a few years ago, barely got a word from him. Good on him, good lad.
Road course is like a holiday weekend “Classic SVG” 😎😎👍

@@chrisschneiders6734bit of a weird comment that has absolutely nothing to do with Shane driving this weekend.
He was due for a change after Scott went to Indycar and Kostecki got championship...
Living the dream!! It’s great to be along for the ride!!
He'll yea!!!!!

He has such a great attitude
Sweep the weekend SVG!!!! LETS GOOOO!!!
Remember the news interview after 2022 Bathurst, Shane left at the start of the interview, what a legend
Wasn’t that because he had a hangover and was going to throw up? 🍻🍻🍻
@@MyBlueZed No, he was coming down and needed another line.
Had a celebration.... Was bit hungover at Sonoma spotting for Will Brown after win...
Give it the jandal, mate! Great to see him so relaxed and happy.

You can see how much more happy he is doing this!
He's Loving Everything Minute 💯
I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him win both races
💯
Road race "almost like a holiday" don't you just love him soon even the ovals will be " every day is just like a holiday" go Shane Kia kaha!

Great interview with Shane, so relaxed and in a happy space, looking fit and healthy !!!

It's easy to see life is good for you right now...that's great! All the best for the weekend.
I bet Marcos has coached him...
I'm very excited for this race weekend!
It should be kicka**!
i bet SVG would school marcos on a street course!..or road course for that matter!
brilliant! feeling proud of svg

@munzy5865 yep and it was great for Ireland and rugby in the US
I really really like this guy..he's my #2, only behind yung money
Yeah, I can go along with that!
Shane Van Gisbergen Will Sweep
HELL YEAH ...! "GO THE GIZ"
Yeah he may talk a little bit more but he still says Fuck All. Shane let’s his driving do the Talking.
💯
onya gizzy!
Yeah he is definitely in his happy place here not like supercars caues its shit
Too much vehicle, not enough driver in Stuporcars. The best horse (team) wins, not necessarily the best jockey.
This guy is a Kiwi he is not a Aussie. If anybody can SVG can
Yeah, that is a big handicap, nonetheless if he gets a good run he can repeat. There's only GFTL Septics to beat!
He hates doing media. Funny as dude when he's not in the mood for it 😅 just wants to f kn drive
58 people shot with 11 dying on July 4th.. going to be a long summer in Chicago
Welcome to democrat utopia.
Make it fair, put SVG in a taxi to race with!

street circuits arnt far from road courses..they just temporary...
