All these movies are improvised comedies, which means that the actors are just given a gist of the scenes and almost all of the lines are ad-lib. The actors don't rehearse any of the scenes and they wrap up the scenes in very few takes. This is what makes his movies so great because all the dialogue is spontaneous and the actors make up their own lines as they go along.
LOL 😂..."make sure the temperature is BOILING" 99.9%: "i don't get it". I WORKED with Michael on 'Bette' Midler sitcom 20yrs ago (jesus seems like yesterday) he wasn't as well known then BUT his outstanding performance on that shortlived sitcom STILL made an impression on the entire cast and crew not only for his acting abilities bur also cuz he was so DAMN COOL! 👍.. somethin we all needed a bit of then.
The irony here is him telling Janice to look something up on the internet, while previously when Marilyn asked him to research Oscar talk online, he asks her, "the internet... that's the one with e-mail, right? 🤣
"that's not Christopehr Guest, It's John Michael Higgins." That's correct genius. Christopher Guest co-wrote, directed, and is an actor in this film. That's why the movie is referred to as a "Christopher Guest movie".
My thoughts exactly. Not quite as genius as Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, but still a heck of a lot funnier than most comedies that come out.
Further proof there is no God. Christopher Guest and his great ensemble have not made a film together since this great comedy many years ago, and there are no future projects in the works. Damn!
karmaboi Thanks for the tip (as the hooker said to her leper client). Too bad about god. Too good about another comedy by Guest et al (though where is Catherine O'Hara?)
Just as boring as "Best in Show", "Waiting for Guffman", and "A Mighty Wind". Seriously, how does this guy keep getting great reviews for retched films? Just complete rubbish.
Who would name a child Janis? I LOVE THAT LINE!!!!

“To highlight them” lmao

"First of all, this room is five square feet smaller than I thought it would be!"
Love John Michael Higgins!
Laughed loudly at "a planted poodle's leg."
The irony here is him telling Janice to look something up on the internet, while previously when Marilyn asked him to research Oscar talk online, he asks her, "the internet... that's the one with e-mail, right? 🤣
hillarious! Gillian is awesome!

NED FLANDERS ALL THE WAY!
Lmao! Who would name a child Janice?!!
My thoughts exactly. Not quite as genius as Guffman, Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, but still a heck of a lot funnier than most comedies that come out.
i think the planted poodles legs were a nod to Best in Show.
i love it
Who would name a child Janice?
haha
@greatmya
Mh, well I didn't count it because it wasn't directed by Guest... But of course it's way up there.
I think he means Christopher Guest's characters, as in the ones he thinks up.
What temperature is the water?! Two?
Haha.
I've never seen this scene before, and I have the DVD.
I must have missed it in the deleted scenes?
Ron Swanson's long lost brother?
if you liked that... check out "Extras". its an English comedy. when i saw it, i was crying laughing!
not enough oxygen 7 inches below? lol come on this is funny people
2 is actually pretty cold.......
Lmao
what is this from? I've seen the actors before, but i don't know the film.
...Except that's not Christopehr Guest, It's John Michael Higgins.
nvrmind, i just read the description.
@iowahawk43 That must be why there is such demand for your acting!
Who would name a child .... WTF
"who would name a child Janice?!"... Haw!
Who is the actress who plays Janice?
Jillian Armenante. I recognized her from The Dark Knight Rises.
yes it is
Further proof there is no God. Christopher Guest and his great ensemble have not made a film together since this great comedy many years ago, and there are no future projects in the works. Damn!
'Mascots' - out today :) PS There's still no god tho ;)
karmaboi Thanks for the tip (as the hooker said to her leper client). Too bad about god. Too good about another comedy by Guest et al (though where is Catherine O'Hara?)
Even sadder is the fact that if they did decide to make another movie, it would be without Fred Willard, who stole every scene he was in...
You probably think Scary Movie is a hilarious film.
I didn't crack a smile..
hah i havent seent his but guest is awesome.... i hope you're not like fake or some actress tryna get famous heh
Aww, poor Janice. Christopher Guest's character is such a jerk to her, lol.
This is the best scene ay? Well i won't be watching this then
sorry, but this scene doesn't work.
I've seen improv, I've done improv. So the dialouge is just made up. So is Reno 911 and that show is great. This is boring.
No, you are a dolt who doesn't understand deadpan sarcastic humor. You probably love Dane Cook's standup too.
Just as boring as "Best in Show", "Waiting for Guffman", and "A Mighty Wind". Seriously, how does this guy keep getting great reviews for retched films? Just complete rubbish.
Where's the humor? Showing us the pitiful room might have made it funny. She was good, he was plastic.
It's there. The issue is that you can't see it because apparently you were born without a sense of humor. You are probably a Dane Cook fan.
