I've been really encouraged by your transparency about the peaking experience leading to NAPF. I plan to compete for the first time in late 2024 and decided to run a peak this year to experience the process ahead of time before it really mattered in case I needed to iron out some things. I’m half-way through the peak and I am already fighting off both some physical and mental fatigue after having to condense last week’s schedule due to some sudden small business and family needs. I’ve thankfully been able to overcome the multiple (valid) excuses that would keep me out of the gym and I can feel myself getting significantly stronger, but I struggled with some shame about even having to fight that fight in the first place and several thoughts about cutting my losses and scrapping the competition goal altogether. Thanks for keeping it real.
Always appreciate your willingness to be real and honest with the psychology side of a peak and just powerlifting in general! I have had very similar mental responses to my previous peaks and it helps a ton to see that people way stronger than me deal with similar things 👍
Great “chicken” story with you and Gene Bell! I had the opposite experience when the head ref quickly gives me the down command but I don’t think that I’m finished my lockout. I think, “That’s not fair, you’ve got to give me a chance to lock this out.” I lean back and hold the bar at lockout to sell it as the ref looks at me like, “You know you can put that down any time, right?” If I had wishes from a genie in a lamp, one of my wishes would be for Bryce to have pain-free training!
i watched it live and was really proud. you put some impressive weight up and got podium finishes which made me super happy. i know you had been down recently but i hope that finish brought your spirits up
Phenomenal performance. Hope that knee gets better though. Also, technique wise, what was off about your 3rd deadlift attempt? Would love to see a more advanced and updated deadlift tutorial
Get healthy again and you'll raise those numbers. Don't rush it. Rehap and prehab, before the next training cycle. It was an excellent performance. But we know you can lift more. Congratulations!

I enjoy Powerlifiting, and I have a few guys (and girls) that I'm really fond of. But lowkey, Bryce is becoming my favourite male Powerlifter.

Bryce, how tall are you? Your DL setup looks very similar to mine.
on the “get shredded” last bit… is bruce considering hanging it up? or just off season post-worlds?
Regarding the knee injury, Bryce should talk to the folks at Barbell Medicine if he hasn't already. Man that'd be some incredible crossover content.
